Power outage planned in Plaquemine for early morning hours of Father's Day

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A scheduled six-hour power outage on Father's Day will impact all City of Plaquemine utility customers. Entergy Louisiana told city officials that the outage will be from midnight to 6 a.m. June 15. Crews will be changing out equipment at a substation that powers the city. According to local leaders, the city doesn't get its electrical power from Entergy but uses the company's transmission lines and substation to get power. Officials encouraged residents to make appropriate plans ahead of the planned outage. Entergy suggests: Turning off electronic devices and appliances until five minutes after service is restored. Checking batteries in flashlights. Turning the fridge thermostat to its coldest setting and keeping the doors closed. Notify alarm companies if needed. Taylor Swift buys back masters of first six albums, teases re-recorded albums

Taylor Swift has acquired the rights to her first six albums, giving her complete ownership to her entire music catalog. The global superstar took to her website on Friday, announcing the news that she bought back her first six albums. 'I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made… now belongs to me. All of my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work,' she said. The master recordings were bought back from Shamrock Capital, the private equity firm that purchased them from investor Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings in 2020. Shamrock sold Swift's catalog back to her for around $360 million, Billboard reported. In 2019, Ithaca purchased Big Machine Label Group, which owned the master recordings to Swift's first six albums — her debut album 'Taylor Swift,' 'Fearless,' 'Speak Now,' 'Red,' '1989″ and 'Reputation.' Since 2021, Swift has re-recorded all six of her first albums, releasing them to fans under her ownership of 'Taylor's Version.' She has released all of her re-recordings except 'Taylor Swift' and 'Reputation.' In the letter, Swift teased the upcoming releases of the two remaining albums, although they may not come as soon as fans have hoped. 'I know, I know. What about Rep TV? Full transparency. I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,' she said. She continued telling fans that there will be a time for the unreleased vault tracks from the 'Reputation' album to be released, but did not specify when. Swift did add that she has fully re-recorded her debut album, loving how it sounds. 'Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about,' Swift told her fans. Man accused of stalking ex-girlfriend, crashing into her car in Baton Rouge arrested

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man was arrested on Sunday, May 29, after being accused of stalking a woman and ramming her car. According to an affidavit, officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department were called to a hit-and-run incident in the 2600 block of Coursey Boulevard on Wednesday, May 25. When they arrived, the victim told the officers that her ex-boyfriend, Edward Berryman Jr., 36, intentionally hit her vehicle. She also shared that she has a restraining order against him. The victim told detectives that she was leaving the hair store when Berryman blocked her car in with his black Dodge Challenger. She said she put her car in reverse and exited the parking lot. She later accused Berryman of following her through a neighborhood and ramming the driver's side of her car. Berryman exited the vehicle after the crash, but the victim pulled off. The affidavit states that Berryman then followed her onto Coursey Boulevard, where he hit her vehicle again, running her off the road and disabling her car. At the time of the crash, the victim's 15-year-old child was in the passenger seat. She said she captured the collision on her dashcam. After reviewing the dash camera footage, detectives found it supported the victim's claims. She later explained that the relationship recently ended and that she filed the restraining order in October 2024. While on the scene, detectives saw a Black Challenger with a missing passenger front tire. They took the vehicle in as evidence. Berryman was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, stalking, violation of protective orders, and a bench warrant.
