Notorious gangster 'tired of criminal life' does strange dance as he's arrested
Jamie Rothwell, 38 was banged up for 43 years at Manchester Crown Court after pleading guilty to gun and drug offences - he now says he's 'tired of criminal life' An infamous gangster who was jailed for 43 years performed a strange little dance after being nicked by cops. Jamie Rothwell admitted to being addicted to "revenge, violence and racketeering" and was responsible for trafficking lethal arms as well as arranging large-scale drug deals. The 38-year-old, of Salford in Greater Manchester, fled the UK in 2015 after surviving a gun attack and had been living in luxury out in Barcelona until his capture. From there, the fugitive was able to orchestrate his illegal operations using a messaging app called Encrochat, which some refer to as WhatsApp for criminals, which included ordering gangland hits. This comes after after a kickboxing champion takes dead body to police station as he hands himself in for murder. In May 2020, however, he was finally tracked down in Spain and taken into custody. Footage taken by Spanish cops showed the moment he was walked by officers with his hands handcuffed behind his back - only to skip and then jump up and kick his heels. Rothwell also appeared chatty with cops and in an upbeat mood. Yet the gangster claimed he was "tired" of living a criminal life and instead now wants to help young people avoid taking the path he took. He pleaded guilty to a number of gun and drug offences and was yesterday sentenced to more than four decades behind bars at Manchester Crown Court. Rothwell's jailing comprised a total of 18 years for drugs offences and a consecutive 25 year extended sentence for firearms offence, which includes 21 years in prison and an extra four years on licence. Judge John Potter said Rothwell placed "hundreds of firearms into the UK". He also explained how the criminal said on Encrochat that he was involved in a "six month war" with someone and he "went on a rampage". In addition, the court heard his dealing was at an "international level" with drugs deals worth millions of pounds. Judge Potter told him: "Mr Rothwell, you have lived much of your life as a professional criminal involved in serious organised crime. "The offences you fall to be sentenced for graphically illustrate your willingness to follow this path and cause loss and misery to others as you do so." He added that Rothwell had, "obtained wealth by having access to millions of pounds of cash." Reflecting on the violence he was responsible for, Rothwell told one associate: "When you have fire in your heart... you don't stop... you get addicted... you lose everyone... you turn cold, no emotions.... egos at first I agree... but then when you in, hard to go back." His sentencing comes after he was brought to justice for ordering a shooting from Spain and for being involved in industrial-scale cocaine dealing. In February, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess firearms with intent to endanger life; conspiracy to possess ammunition with intent to endanger life; conspiracy to supply a controlled drug of Class A, namely cocaine, conspiracy to supply a controlled drug of Class B, namely ketamine and two counts of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. His crimes were revealed after European law enforcement infiltrated the EncroChat communications network, which was used by criminals who believed it was impenetrable. The court previously heard how Rothwell used Encrochat to plan violence and supply deadly weapons alongside a string of associates, including James Close - known as 'Ballsniffer' - as well as Craig Makinson and Callum Morris. In April 2020, Rothwell set his sights on rival Leon Cullen, telling one contact: "I've give Leon a way out... he a grass... he turned on me for nothing... tried kill me... while my daughter there... he my only enemy... when he lands in UK that's when it starts." He also targeted notorious gangster Liam Byrne, sharing Byrne's address with user 'Caperocket' and sending Google Earth images. "I'm gonna do them all soon," he wrote.

Hollyoaks confirms Sienna Blake goes to the police as killer Jez closes in
This is the moment Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is cornered by Jez (Jeremy Sheffield) in Hollyoaks next week as she plans to report her villainous dad's antics to Dodger Savage (Danny Mac). Jez, as audiences know, has claimed the lives of various villagers since his arrival in the show, namely Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith), Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) and Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe). He's also murdered therapist Tommy Odenkirk (Brandon Fellows), pinning the blame for that one on Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed), and social worker Ian Stone, framing Bobby for the latter. Sienna had some knowledge of her devilish dad's wrongdoings when she discovered that he murdered her beloved cousin Dilly, who was planning on reporting Sienna to the police for her role in husband Ethan Williams' (Matthew James Bailey) demise. The realisation that her supposedly kind father was responsible for the murder of Dilly left Sienna shaken to the core but in the heat of the moment she assisted Jez in getting rid of her body, burying her in the allotment. Jez vowed that he would turn over a new leaf and Sienna believed him but when she found out that the patriarch was engaged to her sister Liberty (Jessamy Stoddart), the fear of what he's truly capable of started to creep back in. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video And such fears were exacerbated further when Dodger revealed that Dilly's DNA was found in connection with the Ian Stone case – and that of Dennis Savage, who – as viewers know – was also killed by Jez. With Dilly already dead at the time of Ian's demise, Sienna put two and two together and her worst fears were realised upon a trip to the allotment, where she discovered that not only was Jez still claiming lives but that he was doing so because he believes it's what he was 'born to do'. Who will take down Jez? Sienna - if anyone can outwit a villain it's her Liberty - she will see through his lies Dodger - the detective will solve the mystery Martha - she will see what she must do in order to make amends Someone else - tell us below in the comments! Upon unearthing Robbie Roscoe's (Charlie Wernham) body, Sienna confronted Jez, who was relieved to no longer have to hide his obsession with taking lives. Horrified and appalled, Sienna raced to tell her loved ones about Jez's true nature, but the killer caught up to her, resulting in the pair of them taking a tumble from the city walls. Jez recovered in hospital and instructed mum Martha (Sherrie Hewson) to 'take care' of Sienna so to speak, knowing she will expose his horrid secrets. Sienna, however, claimed to have no memory of the events leading to her fall, with Jez relieved to be out of the woods. Or so he thinks. Subsequent scenes confirmed that not only is Sienna still aware of Jez's murderous antics but she's also keeping a list – and she intends to do whatever it takes to take him down. Next week, Sienna heads to a chatroom online for advice on what to do if your dad is a serial killer and, to further protect her loved ones and bide her time while she contemplates her next move, she tells Jez and Lib that it's unlikely she'll ever regain her memory. Liberty, however, grows concerned that Sienna is keeping something from her. Will she get to the bottom of such a thing? The jury is still out but there's soon concern when Sienna starts to behave in a peculiar manner, selling the stall and all of her stock, which leaves Liberty confused. Afterwards, Sienna makes a beeline for the police station, hoping to speak to Dodger about what she knows, but to her horror, Jez appears before her very eyes, as seen in new images shared exclusively with Metro. An emotional showdown ensues, with Sienna left in tears. The question is: will Sienna be able to cover her tracks in a swift fashion? Or is Jez aware that she recalls the truth about his murders? More Trending In terms of location, she's in the ideal place to ensure Jez is held to account – but will he have a trick up his sleeve to keep her quiet? And is Sienna officially a target once again for the killer? Alternatively, can she bring Jez to justice? Or is Jez truly as invincible as he likes to believe? Stripper 'jiggled bride-to-be's breasts' & 'forced her legs open'
Stuart Kennedy, 32, appeared in court after a bride-to-be claimed he jiggled her breasts and forced her legs open during her hen party, despite allegedly telling him 'no thank you' A stripper has been accused of "jiggling a bride-to-be's breasts" during a performance at her hen party. The 32-year-old lawyer said she became hysterical and ran off to vomit during the performance, despite repeatedly telling Stuart Kennedy - dressed as a firefighter - "no thank you". The bride-to-be said she was "shocked" and "froze" when the stripper burst into the party at the luxury Scottish hotel Crieff Hydro, around 40 miles west of Dundee. The woman told a trial at Perth Sheriff Court that she was embarrassed and felt forced to participate in the show after it was secretly arranged by one of her sisters. The woman, from the highlands, claimed she repeatedly said "no thank you" to Kennedy, but said he carried on despite her clearly being uncomfortable, according to the Daily Record. She said: "The door burst open and slammed hard against the opposite wall. A man dressed in a firefighter's uniform came in. "I began to realise he was there as some form of entertainment. I started crying and panicking. Eventually I understood he was there for me as he asked who the bride was. I decided I had to grin and bear it and go through it. It's not my preference, that kind of activity. I didn't think I was in danger, just that it would be unpleasant and not to my taste. Me storming off felt like it would be an over-reaction." The bride-to-be said 15 people had gone to the hotel, on March 22, 2024, for a prosecco and pizza party ahead of her wedding. The bride claimed she told the stripper multiple times that she did not want to patriciate. She said: "I wasn't fully appreciating what he was doing. I was just in shock. His crotch was within half a foot of my face. I was trying to communicate that I was not a willing participant. I was just cringing away from him constantly. He forced his hands between my thighs to open my legs. I resisted it but I was also frightened by now. His first move was to make me simulate giving him oral sex. "I started to comply with him because I didn't know what he was going to do next. He still had his trousers on. He had sewn a fake erection into the crotch. It felt like a bean bag. He was fiddling with the button on my shirt at one point. At my cleavage. There was more grinding against my thigh. I was trying to keep my legs together." The bride-to-be said she ran to the toilet to vomit after one of his alleged actions. She added: "He was behind me and went straight to grab both my breasts and jiggled them about. He saw some of the girls gasp. By now they were all panicking. When he was not near me I bolted towards the door. I made it to the bathroom. I was physically sick. I vomited in the toilet. I was crying hysterically and screaming and grabbing my hair." Her younger sister told police in a statement: "He put his legs over her and did a Magic Mike sort of thing. He got his waist close to her face. He was dry humping her while she was sat down. She was visibly upset and left. I think the way he stormed in gave us a fright and this triggered her. I enjoyed myself and I don't remember anything you wouldn't expect from a stripper at a hen party." Kennedy denies sexually assaulting the woman in Crieff Hydro and denies repeatedly handling the woman's thighs and private parts, attempting to kiss her, and handling her breasts and shaking them. The stripper, from Aberdeen, further denies intentionally causing the same woman to participate in sexual activity by sitting on her, seizing her by the head and restraining her. The charge alleges he induced her to drink from a penis-shaped straw, repeatedly thrust his hips towards her body, took hold of her arm and forced her to handle a fake penis, and seized her arms and placed them against his chest. The hen's middle sister, who paid around £400 to Aberdeen-based AlphaMale Strippers & Butlers to hire Kennedy, said she immediately realised it was a mistake. She told the trial: "I was nervous. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not." Asked if she had "buyer's regret" about booking a stripper, she said: "One hundred per cent." The law student, 28, said: "He stood her up at one point and reached around and grabbed her boobs aggressively. I remember it took my breath away a wee bit, because I just didn't think that was right. It was not long after that she left, she ran out the room and locked herself in the bathroom."
