Phone bought online with counterfeit bills, say Guelph Police

Guelph Police are looking for a suspect following a purchase made with counterfeit bills on Monday.
A Guelph man told police that he had listed an iPhone for sale online and was contacted by a potential buyer who agreed to pay $1,100.
The seller told police he met the buyer in the lobby of his apartment building around 8:50 p.m. After the transaction was completed, and the buyer left, the man realized the 11 $100 bills he was given all had the same serial number.
The man told police he tried to message the buyer again but the profile had been deleted.
The suspect was described as a 19-year-old Brown man, around 5'6' with a medium build and tattoos on both arms. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, grey pants and Crocs.

'Do NOT attempt to use counterfeit money.' If you see a counterfeit bill, you are asked to immediately report it to the CKPS at 519-352-1234.

The attack happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, while the man was mountain biking along Brohm Ridge, in the Alpine Capone area, according to the B.C. Conservation Officer Service. 'The cougar made contact and continued to follow him down the trail,' the BCCOS said Friday, in a social media post. The wildcat pursued the mountain biker for approximately 20 minutes before he was able to scare the animal away. 'The man, who was walking backwards holding his bike, managed to throw rocks at the cougar, which disengaged,' the BCCOS said. Related: B.C. hiker describes 'terrifying' encounter with cougar on popular trail near Whistler Conservation officers are urging the public to avoid the area for now, and have been working with local officials and outdoor associations to spread the word about the attack. The BCCOS noted the incident happened near Garibaldi Provincial Park, where trails were closed earlier this summer due to aggressive cougar activity. Officers are currently 'unable to confirm if this incident is linked to one of the cougars involved' in the previous scare, the BCCOS said. Siksika man accused of deliberately running over family appears in court

The man accused in an allegedly deliberate hit-and-run that left two people dead and a third person severely injured had his matter called in court on Friday. Adolphus Weasel Child, 27, was scheduled to appear before a judge in Drumheller. He's charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, relating to an incident that occurred late last month on Siksika Nation. Following the incident, RCMP said five people were walking along the roadway when some of them were run over by a pickup truck. Trayton Running Bird, 27, and Clifton Saddleback, 45. Adolphus Weasel Child, 27, was charged following the incident that claimed the lives of 27-year-old Trayton Running Bird and 45-year-old Clifton Saddleback.
