Fitness update on Orlando Pirates star Thabiso Sesane
Orlando Pirates fans will be counting the days until outstanding defender Thabiso Sesane returns to action for the Sea Robbers.
25-year-old Sesane picked up a serious injury in February, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.
19-year-old Mbekezeli Mbokazi's sudden emergence mitigated some of the disappointment.
Thabiso Sesane started the campaign in domineering form, becoming a pillar in the heart of their defence. It was, therefore, a massive blow to the club and player when he was cruelly struck down with a serious tendon injury in February. The rupture was deemed bad enough for the 25-year-old to undergo surgery. Full recovery could take anywhere between four and six months. If Sesane's rehabilitation goes well, he could be back in time for the start of the 2025-2026 season.
Rulani Mokwena has ruled himself out of the running for the Zamalek job after hearing Pitso Mosimane was also a candidate. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old continues to be linked with the vacant Orlando Pirates job.

According to the latest transfer gossip, Orlando Pirates have tabled a five-year offer for Richards Bay defender Nkhosikhona Ndaba. The 22-year-old defender enjoyed a stunning breakthrough season at Bay, making 23 appearances across all competition. Now, reports suggest his hard-work has paid off and a lucrative offer is on the table! 'He should be an Orlando Pirates player and they are offering him a five-year contract from July this year until June 2030,' an insider told Soccer Laduma . 'It's a very good contract for a young defender like him. Remember he is only 22-years-old and has been doing very well for Richards Bay and it will be a loss to them but a win for Pirates.' Yanga Madiba is the only other recognised left-back at the club currently. While Hotto can also feature in a 'left-wing-back' scenario. Breaking: Proteas beat Australia to win the WTC final
The Proteas managed to hold their nerve to beat Australia to win the 2025 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) on Saturday at Lord's, England. The win sees South Africa win their first ICC trophy since 1998. Having gone into the final as underdogs, the Proteas bowled well to dismiss the Aussies for 212 in the first innings and again 207 in their second. Despite their disappointing 138 in the first innings, Temba Bavuma's men scored 282 to claim the famous win over Australia. A second innings 147 partnership between Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma was critical in the Proteas claiming their first trophy in 27 years. Needed 282 runs to win, the Proteas lost an early wicket of Ryan Rickelton but Wiaan Mulder's positive 27 indicated that Day 3 in Lord's was always going to favour the batting side. Captain Temba Bavuma was dropped by Steven Smith early in his innings and made the most of his second life by scoring 66 despite suffering from a hamstring injury. On Day 4 of the WTC final, the Proteas needed just 69 runs to win with eight wickets in hand. Bavuma, Tristan Stubbs and Markram were the wickets to fall but David Bedingham stood tall to guide the team to victory with an unbeaten 20. BREAKING: Azam name their price for Kaizer Chiefs target Salum
Kaizer Chiefs have a long-standing interest in talented Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum. Is it time to negotiate a deal? 27-year-old Salum has a year left on his current deal with Azam FC. Simba are the other side in the running to land his signature. FIVE Amakhosi stars are leaving the club before 2025-2026 Kaizer Chiefs only need to see off competition from Simba if they want to sign Tanzanian superstar Feisal Salum. Azam FC want R9 million for their star midfielder. Meanwhile, talented midfield player Samkelo Zwane is one of five high-profile names linked with a likely exit from Kaizer Chiefs. The 23-year-old schemer has fallen down the pecking order. Senior statesmen Thabo Cele and Yusuf Maart hold down places. There are still question marks about Zwane's ability to do work off the ball. George Matlou, Tebogo Potsane, Zitha Kwinika and Fiacre Ntwari could all follow him out the exit door. These exits are expected to help fund a move for Salum.
