UP encourages public to help students
JOHANNESBURG - The University of Pretoria is appealing to the public to lend a helping hand to hundreds of students. The institution is spearheading it's Giving Month campaign. The initiative encourages people to donate food items or other forms of support. This is all part of the institution's Student Nutrition and Progress Programme. Thembisa residents force suspension of electricity hikes
THEMBISA - South Africans are paying more for services, as the cost of living shows no signs easing up. This month an increase in electricity tariffs came into effect across the country's municipalities, in line with Eskom's hikes in April. And they have made their anger known by barricading roads with burning tyres, debris and rocks.
