EuroMillions: National Lottery numbers revealed for ‘jaw-dropping' £172m jackpot

One lucky ticketholder could have just won a 'jaw-dropping' £172 million in Friday's EuroMillions lottery. The jackpot reached an estimated £172 million after Tuesday's top prize went unclaimed. Friday's National Lottery EuroMillions winning numbers are: 2, 12, 19, 34, 44. The lucky stars are: 6, 10. Meanwhile, Friday's National Lottery Thunderball winning numbers are: 3, 5, 9, 32, 33. The Thunderball is 12. And one UK millionaire has been created in the Millionaire Maker Selection: ZJMQ51115. Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, called Friday's potential jackpot 'jaw-dropping'. He said: 'A single UK winner of this jaw-dropping prize would make National Lottery history, coming in as the fourth biggest National Lottery winner of all time, and it would also be the 20th win of over £100 million since The National Lottery began.' While no one matched the jackpot on Tuesday, two UK players came close – each winning £192,769 for matching five numbers and one Lucky Star. It comes after a single ticketholder became the biggest ever EuroMillions lottery winner in the UK and Ireland in June. The jackpot of £208m was the largest prize the EuroMillions has ever seen, and was scooped up by a lucky player in Ireland, who purchased the ticket in a retail outlet in Co Cork. Meanwhile, a single father who has battled bowel cancer captured the touching moment he told his son he had won £1 million on the lottery, with the pair hugging and jumping excitedly around the kitchen in the video. Paul Harvey, of Attleborough, Norfolk, said on Thursday that he wants to treat his two teenage children to their first foreign holiday together – to Greece. The 51-year-old, full-time dad, who has had an unsettling two years following treatment for bowel cancer, also plans to buy a Fiat 500 for his daughter who is learning to drive. 'Life hasn't always been easy, but the kids mean the world to me, and they always come first,' he said.

Pizza Express launches limited edition bottomless pizza – but it won't be around forever

PIZZA Express is launching a new first time offer on bottomless pizza for a limited time this summer holidays. It has been dubbed "Pizza O'Clock", providing unlimited pizza for everyone to enjoy. 3 3 3 Launching on August 11, and running until August 29, pizza lovers will be able to get their hands on unlimited slices for just £17.50 per person. Pizza O'Clock is between 2pm and 5pm everyday at Pizza Express restaurants, providing 90 minutes of time for people to enjoy as much pizza as they can. Diners will be able to choose from three different flavours; the iconic Margherita, cult classic Padana or country's favourite American. This period is designed to fill the British pizzeria's quiter hours from next week. It will be the first time the iconic pizza chain will be trialling out a bottomless offer, following in the footsteps of rival Pizza Hut. Children will also be able to join in, costing just £10 for kids. Terms and conditions of the offer state that an unlimited number of pizzas can be ordered as long as the previous ones have been finished. In addition, pizzas cannot be ordered to take home at the end of the 90 minute session. The limited edition offer comes as part of efforts from Pizza Express to get people off their phones and spending more time with family and friends. Tables at the restaurant will therefore be " phone free zones", and instead contain a selection of table-top games. 'Done eating Pizza Hut,' irate customers call for boycott as restaurant chain fires 1,200 workers over minimum wage hike This is designed to "keep spirits high and encourage the most perfect 90 minutes of quality time." Pizza Express adds: "Anyone found 'red thumbed' can be handed a forfeit style red card by anyone at their table. The result? "Being faced with having to do a silly dance, tell an embarrassing story or a forfeit of their fellow diners' choice." It comes after a YouGov study commissioned by the UK's largest casual dining brand found 34 per cent of the nation spend more time on their phone each week than with family or friends. Additionally, it revealed the majority of people (57 per cent) spend less than 90 minutes of quality time with family or friends each day. Pizza Express has almost 360 pizzerias around the UK. News of its new bottomless offer comes after Pizza Express celebrated its 60th birthday earlier this year. The popular restaurant chain offered meals for just 33p to match prices from 1965 to mark the anniversary. They also recently launched a new breakfast menu at one of its branches, with 25 items included. At the Pizza Express site at Gatwick Airport, customers could get their hands on unique items like eggs on bruschetta and shakshuka baked eggs during certain hours of the day. History of Pizza Express PIZZA Express opened its first UK restaurant in Wardour Street, London in 1965. A second followed shortly after, opening on Coptic Street next to the British Museum, in 1967. The popular brand was founded by Peter Boizot back in 1965. The chain now runs 370 pizzerias across the UK and Republic of Ireland. In March 2025, Pizza Express marked its 60th birthday with a limited time retro deal.

Spider-mania shows no sign of slowing as Glasgow is caught in a web of superhero excitement

Spider-mania has shown no sign of slowing as fans continue to gather in Glasgow city centre to take in the filming of the latest superhero movie. Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has drawn thousands of excited children and intrigued residents keen to see the dramatic action scenes unfold on their doorstep. Since filming kicked off on July 31, onlookers have been delighted by spectacular car chases, explosions and daring feats performed by Spider-Man's stunt double. Youngsters decked out in Spidey costumes were among the crowds gathered as crews filmed an armoured vehicle racing through the streets with the action hero on top. The blockbuster is the latest Hollywood film to have shot scenes in Glasgow in recent years, with the city also showing up in Indiana Jones, The Flash and Batman. In the last year alone, Top Gun star Glen Powell has also shot two major movies in Glasgow: JJ Abrams' Ghostwriter and a remake of The Running Man. Over the past week familiar streets were left unrecognisable thanks to the arrival of American police and military vehicles, along with high-tech equipment. Fans were even treated to a glimpse of Tom Holland on Sunday when the actor shot an action sequence in costume before chatting to a large crowd. The upcoming Spider-Man film will be Marvel's fourth movie following the story of Peter Parker, and the Spider-Mania that has gripped the centre of Glasgow is set to spread further afield, as Marvel bosses have announced extra filming dates at new locations. Shooting will be extended by 11 days and will move towards the eastern part of the city centre until August 26.
