League big wigs announced that Wednesday will now not be allowed to pay any transfer or loan fees until JUNE 2027 for exceeding late payment of wages to players and staff for 30 days in the year commencing July 2025.
That is a six-month extension to the punishment that was handed out to the club earlier in the summer.
Wednesday face the Potters on August 16 and SunSport understands supporters will be asked to congregate at Hillsborough Park opposite the ground instead.
What has been provisionally branded 'Party In The Park', fans will be invited to stage a peaceful and unified demonstration against their controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri.

Already a 'be late to your seat' protest is being held on Sunday, organised by Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust, for their Championship opener against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
Fans spokesman Jamie Silverwood told SunSport: 'We're going to arrive late to our seats at Leicester for two reasons.
'First we want it to be a visual protest and also the other is that despite this club suffering almost three decades of decline the one thing that has remained constant is the fans' unwavering support.
'So we think by coming in late to the game will be a visible sign of how many people are upset.'

It is understood fans are preparing a banner to place over the seats asking Wednesday's Thai owner to sell up — and a plane is expected to fly a message over the stadium too.
It has been a summer of chaos at Wednesday with:
Players and staff being paid late three months out of the last four
Boss Danny Rohl and a glut of key players leaving
The EFL placing a transfer embargo on the Owls, prohibiting them from paying any fees for permanent or loan deals
The North Stand being closed after the council deemed it unsafe
Players refusing to play in a friendly at Burnley in a protest against the owner
The EFL last night released a statement and it read: "The League wants to see a strong, stable and competitive Sheffield Wednesday, and for that to happen we are clear that the current owner needs either to fund the Club to meet its obligations or make good on his commitment to sell to a well-funded party, for fair market value – ending the current uncertainty and impasse.'
They also confirmed what SunSport revealed earlier that the Leicester game on Sunday is not under threat and will be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, Wednesday say they are hoping to satisfy all safety issues before the Stoke game but have made contingency plans to erect a temporary access platform on the West Stand if needed.
Meanwhile, the former Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor is "definitely interested" in buying the Yorkshire club.
The American businessman sold his 43 per cent stake in the Eagles to New York Jets' billionaire owner Woody Johnson in June.
Textor is a majority shareholder in French giants Lyon, Belgium club RWDM Brussels and Brazilian side Botafogo.
He has not yet made any approach to Chansiri but said: "I am looking for a traditional English club to buy or with which I can partner.
"I am monitoring the situation, hoping to better understand it.
"I'm definitely interested. It's a lot to solve in a short amount of time with regards to taking advantage of the transfer window but it's a club and community I would like to help."

Andy Woodman celebrates ‘special' Bromley players after cup victory over Ipswich
Andy Woodman hailed the character of his Bromley squad as they knocked Championship side Ipswich out of the Carabao Cup on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Two spot-kick saves from Bromley goalkeeper Sam Long proved critical as the League Two side won the shootout 5-4 against a team who were playing in the Premier League last season. Ravens manager Andy Woodman said: 'I expected the team to go out and execute the gameplan and they did that and then some. 'We knew that Ipswich would have a lot of the ball, but I trust the character and fitness of my players and I think that was on show tonight. 'They aren't celebrating like 'big-time Charlies' for winning the match. There is an air in that changing room of being humble and focusing in on the next challenge. This is a special group of players.' Deji Elerewe headed Bromley into the lead but half-time substitute Ben Johnson equalised soon after the interval. The visitors could not find a winner and, after George Hirst and Ali Al-Hamadi were denied by Long in the shootout, Marcus Ifill fired Bromley into the second round. Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna rued a lack of urgency from his side. 'I'm frustrated because winning matches like this give you extra games for players and allows us to get minutes into legs,' he said. 'We were better in the second half and probably should have won the game late on, but once you let it go to penalties you know the risk at hand. 'We had control in the first half but no urgency, which shows we aren't quite there yet. 'We aren't the team we need to be at the moment, but we will take the lessons and go from there.'

What are the latest Golden Boot 2025/26 odds?
Mo Salah completed a record-breaking year last season which saw him secure the Golden Boot for fourth time but is not the bookies favourite to overtake Thierry Henry's record As the Premier League commences for another season, some of the best attackers in the world will be battling it out for the Golden Boot trophy. Last year's exploits saw Liverpool's Mo Salah steam ahead with 29 goals with potential new teammate Alexander Isak behind on 23 goals last season but surprisingly, neither are marked as the early favourite with the bookies. That goes to Erling Haaland who is currently 6/5 with William Hill going into the start of the season as the bookies favourite with Salah 4/1 to retain it while Isak is 6/1 and new arrival Viktor Gyokeres is 13/2. Mohamed Salah begins 2025/26 with the weight of fresh expectation. After a record-chasing year in which he matched the Premier League benchmark for single-season goal contributions, his 29 goals delivered the Golden Boot and 18 assists underlined his status among the world's elite. Those numbers put his name in the Ballon d'Or conversation, but last year's harvest guarantees nothing once the first whistle blows. Salah's mix of ruthless finishing and selfless supply gave Liverpool a cutting edge in tight matches. He thrived in transition, punished high lines and remained ice-cool from the spot. Crucially, his availability and consistency set the tone for a title-winning campaign. Maintaining that reliability while Liverpool defend the crown is the challenge now, with opponents better briefed and recruitment across the league aimed squarely at narrowing the gap. But there are threats - both old and new - in the horizon if Salah is to accomplish an unprecedent fifth Golden Boot win. Typically, Erling Haaland, the ever-present yardstick at Manchester City, remains the most direct threat. His shot volume and penalty-box presence make 30 league goals a realistic target in any season. Meanwhile, Alexander Isak's rise at Newcastle United has been steady and sophisticated but his ongoing rift at the club to leave for Liverpool causes early doubt as to how he will compete for the honour again this season. Plus Viktor Gyökeres is set to spearhead Arsenal's attacking lineup as Mikel Arteta hopes he finally has the missing piece in the puzzle after back-to-back-to-back seasons finishing runners-up. His blend of power, pressing and smart near-post runs could give the Gunners the penalty-area focal point they have sought. Hugo Ekitike has already made an impact at Liverpool scoring in the Community Shield at the weekend adding pace and off-ball aggression to the Reds' forward rotation. His impressive individual performance - despite the loss to Crystal Palace - offers some immediate insight for Arne Slot if the Isak transfer does not go through this summer. Some outside options could well be in the discussion too as Manchester United's new-look attack looks fit and raring to go as Ruben Amorim puts his stamp on the club with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and Benjamin Sesko all part of a new-look front three. The players are exactly the type that Amorim has been lacking since arriving at Old Trafford which could see a completely different United to the one we have seen in recent years. Golden Boot 2025/26 Odds Erling Haaland - 6/5 Mo Salah - 4/1 Alexander Isak - 6/1 Viktor Gyokeres - 13/2 Joao Pedro - 16/1 Hugo Ekitike - 16/1 Benjamion Sesko - 18/1 Cole Palmer - 20/1 BAR - 25/1 18+ | Gamble responsibly | | Odds subject to change | Odds supplied by William Hill Premier League Betting Offers If you are on the lookout for the latest free bet offers, then look no further. John Eustace hails Derby's effort after they knock out West Brom
John Eustace praised his Derby side for sticking at their task and edging out Championship rivals West Brom on penalties in the Carabao Cup. Joe Ward's strike six minutes into added time took the first round to penalties, before Josh Vickers kept out two of Albion's spot-kicks to help the Rams to a 3-2 shoot-out win. Eustace said: 'I'm really proud of the effort of the group. 'It was fantastic for the lads who got minutes in the legs and academy players, they kept going and stuck there in the difficult moments. 'No matter who plays we get 100 per cent from them and I was very proud of them. 'It was outstanding from Josh. He was fantastic last season, he never let us down. 'We looked at penalties before with Keith Downing (assistant). He has great experience in tournaments with England and it certainly helped tonight.' Albion boss Ryan Mason believes his side did more than enough to win the game in normal time, having led through Aune Heggebo's 67th-minute goal. He added: 'The nature of it and the timing of the goal was disappointing. 'It was their first shot on target and we played well, we thoroughly deserved to go through – but football can be harsh sometimes. 'It was a good performance, we deserved to win. Their keeper pulled off three or four good saves. 'We could have gone 2-0 up but it didn't happen. But we weren't in danger, they didn't create a thing all night, to be honest. 'It is frustrating, disappointing, but that happens.'
