18,573 farmers benefit from ‘Annadata Sukhibhava' in Vizag
Speaking at the fund release programme of the first phase of district-level 'Annadata Sukhibhava' held at Gajuwaka here on Saturday, the minister said that 18,573 farmers in Visakhapatnam district form a part of the beneficiaries' list.
The district In-Charge Minister mentioned that with an aim of providing employment to the youth, land allocations are being made to the industrialists and special measures are taken by focusing on CRZ encroachments.
Speaking on the occasion, Telugu Desam Party state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao stated that the coalition government is implementing every promise made during the election campaign. He informed that the government is giving priority to horticultural crops and encouraged the urban residents to take advantage of the opportunity.
North constituency MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju stated that the schemes being implemented by the Central and State governments will benefit the poor and farmers.
DCCB chairman Kona Tatarao opined that good governance is prevailing in the state.
District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad informed that the financial assistance of Rs.12.90 crore received by the farmers of the district through the scheme will be directly deposited in their accounts. He said that the scheme will be useful to invest in seeds and fertilisers.
GVMC Deputy Mayor Dalli Govinda Raju, former MLC Duvvarapu Rama Rao, District Agriculture Officer Appalaswamy, Tahsildar Srinivasa Rao, public representatives, officials and farmers participated in the programme.

A film policy is being framed to establish Delhi as an international shooting destination, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday as she asserted that her government is 'deeply committed' to turning the city into a 'film hub' and a budget of Rs 3 crore has been allocated to meet the goal. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Celebrating India Film Festival (CIFF) at Siri Fort, she announced that applications for film and other shoots will be approved through a single-window system. The government, she said, 'aims to process these applications via the single-window system to encourage filmmakers, inspire them to use Delhi's locations, and create stories connected to the city.' An International Film Festival will also be organised in the Capital with the participation of the Delhi government — with a budget of ₹30 crore earmarked, she added. Gupta emphasised that 'imagining such a magnificent event in the heart of Delhi – and then turning it into reality – is no easy task'. She told the audience that 'this festival has sent out a message that Delhi is now moving towards becoming a new centre for film production and cultural expression'. So far, the CM pointed out, 'Mumbai has been synonymous with the film and entertainment industry' and that 'talent from Delhi that manages to make some headway in the field often moves to Mumbai in search of better opportunities'. Referring to the National School of Drama, she said it is 'an institute where many actors have honed their craft before earning fame both nationally and internationally but there has never been a serious initiative to develop the film industry in Delhi itself'. 'Why should people learn acting in Delhi, only to be forced to seek work in Mumbai?' she asked. She added that the government is 'planning to develop the film industry in the Capital and provide related facilities'.

VMRDA launches works worth Rs 21 crore in Bheemili
Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stones for new ones worth Rs 21 crore in Bheemili assembly constituency on Sunday. VMRDA chairman MV Pranav Gopal, Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, VMRDA metropolitan commissioner KS Viswanathan, participated in the programme. After inaugurating a convention centre built at a cost of Rs 9.50 crore, they laid foundation stones for various major road development projects planned at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Speaking on the occasion, VMRDA chairman M V Pranav Gopal said that following the guidance and vision of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, utmost priority is being given to providing basic infrastructure facilities in all constituencies within the VMRDA jurisdiction. He expressed happiness at the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth approximately Rs 21 crore in the Bheemili constituency. He added that a state-of-the-art convention centre, capable of accommodating 1,000 guests, has been made available at a cost of about Rs 9.50 crore. With funds of Rs 5.86 crore, a master plan road is being constructed — 80 feet wide and approximately 1 km long — from Lakeview Layout to Nagarampalem Colony, including CC drains and culverts. Additionally, Rs 3 crore has been allocated for the construction of a 40-foot-wide road connecting Nagarampalem to NH-16, a project that was previously left incomplete.
