DONALD Trump has defended his controversial plan to pardon multimillionaire fraudsters Todd and Julie Chrisley.
The reality TV stars' doting daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has now revealed what the president said in a private phone call ahead of their release.

Trump has today pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022 and have spent the past two years in prison.
The couple are famous for Chrisley Knows Best, a reality show that followed their tight-knit family and extravagant lifestyle.
An anonymous White House official has this afternoon confirmed to The Washington Post that the promised pardons have now become a reality after Trump yesterday told their daughter, 'your parents are going to be free and clean... they were given pretty harsh treatment based on what I'm hearing.'
An "excited" Savannah Chrisley spoke to cable network NewsNation today before jumping on a Florida-bound flight to meet her soon-to-be-freed dad.

She met Trump after speaking at last July's Republican National Convention, where she was pictured alongside him in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The network asked her to confirm whether the president had called her while she was walking into a Sam's Club, to reveal he was to set them free.
She laughed and replied, 'Yes, the president called me as I was walking and so… I didn't know what to do; I just ran back to my car at that point.'
The presenter then asked for details of her "pitch to President Trump about why your parents deserved a pardon and what you think finally got through to him?"
Savannah explained, "I have fought for the past two-and-a-half years, for my parents to come home and I've been fighting for their freedom."
The Chrisleys were convicted in 2022 of conspiring to defraud banks in the Atlanta area out of more than $30 million in loans by submitting false documents.

They were also found guilty of tax evasion, obscuring their earnings while showcasing a luxurious way of living that authorities said included high-priced cars, designer clothes, real estate and travel.
Julie Chrisley, 52, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, and Todd Chrisley, 56, got 12 years behind bars. The couple was also ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution.
TRUMPS OF THE SOUTH
But, Savannah maintained, "I have said from the beginning I believe in law and order, and if I believed my parents were guilty of what they did, then yes, they should have gone to prison.
"Even if they were guilty, the time they got was absolutely insane.
"But I brought up in our case the huge Fourth Amendment violations, the illegal seizures, the fact that they had my father's face on a dartboard, the IRS agent lying on the stand and referring to us as the 'Trumps of the south'.
"And also accusing my family of terrorism just so they could run a financial report.'
NOT TERRORISTS
When pressed on what in particular had resonated with Trump, she added, "He did say, he was like, 'you know, you guys don't look like terrorists to me'. Those were his exact words - which was pretty funny.
"But he just said that their sentences were 'outrageous' and they were 'treated unfairly' from everyone he has spoken to.
"And that he 'wanted to bring my parents home' and not just grant them a commutation but he wanted to give them a 'full pardon.''
Who has Donald Trump pardoned so far?
The Republican has already pardoned hundreds of people during his second presidential term, including:
January: Trump pardoned about 1,500 of his supporters who attacked the U.S. Capitol four years ago
Officer Terence Sutton and Lieutenant Andrew Zabavsky were reinstated to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) following their pardons after the cops were previously convicted and sentenced for their roles in a fatal crash that resulted in the death of 20-year-old black man, Karon Hylton-Brown

Trump pardoned the three co-founders of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, Benjamin Delo, Arthur Hayes and Samuel Reed, who had pleaded guilty in 2022 for failing to implement a Bank Secrecy Act-compliant anti-money laundering program
April: He pardoned Paul Walczak, a former nursing home executive who was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $4 million in restitution for tax crimes
Trump pardoned Republican former Las Vegas City Council member Michele Fiore, who had been set to be sentenced after she was convicted on conspiracy and wire fraud charges related to misused fundraising
May: Trump issued a pardon for a MAGA-aligned former Virginia sheriff, Scott Jenkins, who was convicted last year of federal bribery charges
The president also pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley, the former stars of USA Network's Chrisley Knows Best, who had been found guilty of fraud and tax evasion
Savannah became the legal guardian of her younger siblings Chloe, 12, and Grayson, 19, following their parents' imprisonment.
It's going to be hard... I don't think I'm mentally or emotionally prepared to see my parents see each other for the first time.
She explained that Grayson was with her at the time Trump called out of the blue.
Savannah said, "He was in the car when [Trump] called, and actually spoke to the president himself."
Grayson studies at the University of Alabama, so they spoke about the president previously speaking at the institution, and her brother thanked the president for bringing his parents home.
IN SHOCK
"Chloe is still in shock and she doesn't want to get her hopes up because she feels like something bad is gonna happen.
"But I'm excited about going to get my dad and bringing him home to her," said Savannah.
She also said she expected her father to be a free man by tomorrow at the latest.
'If they don't release him tonight then it'll be tomorrow, so… we will get them acclimated back to normal life," Savannah added.
"It's going to be hard... I don't think I'm mentally or emotionally prepared to see my parents see each other for the first time, or hear each other's voice for the first time.
"Their 29th wedding anniversary was on May 25th, so they'll have a late wedding anniversary."
LARA TRUMP'S HELP
She also thanked Trump and his team profusely for their intervention, along with Fox News host Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump.
Savannah said her family was "eternally grateful to President Trump and the administration.
"I went on the Lara Trump show, and I believe that helped to put things over because he watches every episode of her show.
"She is doing a great job on Fox and I think that episode of the show reminded the president of my family's story.'
But, Trump's pardon of her mom and dad has proved contentious.
NO REMORSE
U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross had criticized their lack of remorse, saying during their sentencing, 'I cannot ignore the greed and flamboyance in this case.'
Such pardons "aren't the only evidence of a Justice Department de-emphasizing public corruption cases," wrote NBC News.
'It's clear that this administration doesn't believe that tamping down on public corruption is a priority,' warned Stacey Young, a former Justice Department official who founded Justice Connection, a network of Justice Department alumni.
It follows the pardoning of the three co-founders of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX; the pardoning of about 1,500 of his supporters who attacked the U.S. Capitol four years ago; and a pardon for a former Virginia sheriff who was convicted last year of federal bribery charges.
KIDNAP PLOT
Trump revealed today that he is also considering pardons for the people involved in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2020.
Deputy White House press secretary, Harrison Fields, said in a statement on Tuesday that the Chrisleys' sentences 'were far too harsh.'
'The President is always pleased to give well-deserving Americans a second chance, especially those who have been unfairly targeted and overly prosecuted by an unjust justice system,' he added.

Michael Boateng, who began his youth career at Crystal Palace, was arrested on Valentine's Day last year after police found 19.7kg of the Class A drug in a sports bag at a flat he shared with his girlfriend and infant son. The 34-year-old - who had become a successful personal trainer after his playing career, with clients including England star Jadon Sancho - admitted to supplying crystal meth, cocaine and MDMA at Croydon Crown Court in September. Boateng, donning a blue prison t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms, sat motionless as the judge read out his sentence. His girlfriend - who is the mum to the pair's now 18-month-old son - shook her head in disbelief as the sentence was confirmed. Croydon Crown Court head on June 20 how Boateng had been "doing well" while working as a personal trainer between 2018 and 2023. However, he was issued with an Osman Warning from the Metropolitan Police in 2022 - a warning which indicates an immediate threat to one's life. Representing the defence, Paul Crampin told the court how Boateng was informed of a "credible threat against his life". This then caused his partner at the time to "essential refuse him access to their family". After "cutting him off completely from his son", Boateng suffered from a period of stress and depression, Crampin said. He added that this led to drug use, including Class A substances, with Crampin saying he was then "involved in the small scale supply of drugs to essentially people he knew". Ex-Premier League star Ronnie Stam jailed for seven years in multi-million pound drug-smuggling probe This was done to "fund his own Class A drug habit", the defence said. Boateng was stopped by police officers in Bromley, south London, in September 2023 after acting suspiciously. He then ran from the cops down a dead-end road before a dog unit found a snap bag - which had been thrown over a garden wall - containing 19 wraps of cocaine. John Carmichael, prosecuting, told the court how a search of Boateng's flat in Croydon found 14 additional wraps of cocaine, 32 tablets of MDMA and one block of 22 grams of MDMA. The overall street value of the cocaine and MDMA stood at between £3,000 and £4,180, the court heard. Cops also found 26 bags of ketamine, with a street value of £260 to £520 and £1,570 in cash. Boateng said nothing at interview and later pleaded guilty to intent to supply cocaine and MDMA and possession of ketamine. He was granted bail on the condition he abided by a curfew and reported regularly to a police station. However, his story took a further turn after police raided the former football star's new address in Croydon - where he was living with his girlfriend and their two-month-old son - on Valentine's Day last year. A Slazenger sports bag with 19.7kg of crystal meth was found in the hallway of the property. CCTV footage also showed Boateng arriving seven days earlier, dumping the bag in the same position it was found in, after being handed the bag outside the home. The court heard that while the crystal meth had a wholesale value of between £200,000 to £400,000, its street value could range from anywhere between £1,182,000 and £2,364,000. Mr Carmichael said: "He is clearly trusted within an organisation, holding onto a significant amount of drugs." While the defence did not dispute the weight of the drugs the former footballer possessed, they argued it could not be ruled out that Boateng was not a victim of "coercion or intimidation" from organised criminals when holding onto the drugs. However, Judge Daniel Flahive told the court it was clear Boateng played a "significant role" within an organised crime group, saying this position was "not a matter of negotiation". He added: "He had some awareness and understanding of the operation. This does put him squarely in the significant book. "At the moment I can't see how this falls into a lesser role." 'YOU WERE PLAYING A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN THE DRUG DEALING ENTERPRISE' In his closing statement, Judge Flahive said: "You were playing a significant role in the drug dealing enterprise. Your role was not minimal. "The amount of drugs we are talking about, just shy of 20kg, the value at street level, we are talking potentially millions of pounds. "The reason for the 14 years will be to reflect the sheer quantity of drugs you were looking after in the period of time and reminding myself this was an offence that was committed while on bail for the earlier case. "When you are released you will be subject to licence, the licence will have conditions attached to it. You can go down now." Right back Boateng was a youth player at Crystal Palace between 2005 and 2007 before he eventually made his senior debut for Tonbridge Angels while on loan from Bristol Rovers in 2011. The star then had stints at Sutton United, Bromley, Newport County and Whitehawk before he was dismissed from the latter after being charged following a match-fixing probe in December 2013. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison in June 2014 and the following January got a lifetime ban from football. He was then jailed again in June 2015 for drug dealing. Boateng had appeared as a co-host on the podcast series "Banged Up" which explored life inside Britain's prison system. Cops and ambulance crews were summoned to the scene on Friday after hundreds of mourners had paid their respects to Gordon who died in a fatal bike crash. The violence exploded amid an ongoing feud between the two mobs after a former BA boss Dan Laponder, 44, jumped ship to the new Mad Dog crew. A source said: 'A load of Blue Angels showed up at the funeral to attack Mad Dogs members. 'They obviously knew they were going to be there but to do something like this at a man's funeral is as low as it gets.' Three men aged 30, 44 and 65 were rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' as cops launched a probe into the sickening attacks. Earlier hundreds of bikers were pictured escorting Gordon's funeral cortege as they paid their respects following his death in a motorcycle accident near Loch Lomond on Saturday, July 12. After the heartbreaking news of his death, a loved-one wrote: 'He was, without doubt, my absolute hero growing up. Big, strong, fearless, took no prisoners. And a damn fine musician. I loved him so much.' A funeral notice reveals talented musician and passionate biker Gordon had asked mourners not to wear formal funeral attire but casual colourful clothes or bike gear. Video shared on social media by Motorcycle Law Scotland shows more than 500 bikers slowly making their way to the crematorium. Unique, mad, kind, caring, loved and hugely respected by the community of Linwood, and the biker world alike.' Another added: 'Brilliant send off for a brilliant guy.' Another biker pal wrote: 'Great send off for big Gordon Luke. Was an honour to be part of it. A true legend.' We told of an ongoing feud between rival biker gangs has been raging for months in the wake of high-ranking BA member Laponder leaving the mob and setting Mad Dogs. We told how heavily-tattooed Laponder blamed a 'snitch' in his old crew after being caged for bombing a rival's dad's works van in Lennoxtown, Dunbartonshire, in June last year. ATTACK AFTER CRASH ORDEAL By Graham Mann GORDON Luke previously told of being attacked by a mob who burst into his home. The then 64-year-old told The Scottish Sun how he feared for his life when three blade thugs pounced in Linwood, near Paisley. Amputee Gordon - who had lost a leg in a March 2018 bike accident - thought he was a goner when the maniacs booted in his front door. Gordon said in September that year: 'I thought I was going to die. I was terrified. 'They were trying to get to me with knives. There's not much I could do because I'm vulnerable.' The biker club founder said they showed up after he was mugged by two crooks who'd offered to help with his shopping. He added: 'I'd bumped into the people who stole the money and said I wanted it back. 'My biker friends warned them to stay away then I heard kicking at the door. 'To do that to someone in a wheelchair is repulsive.' Tensions had earlier boiled when a 20-strong mob wrecked a motorbike garage in November 2023. An insider claimed Laponder then opted to switch sides as a pal was one of two men left with horror injuries in the ambush at Totally Spanners in Glasgow's Hillington. Our source said in December: 'Dan looked at who was running about with him and decided he'd had enough.' Laponder, now holed up at Greenock's prison, previously posed with a sawn-off shotgun. He was jailed for nine years at Glasgow's High Court in November. Police Scotland said: 'Around 3pm on Friday officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Glasgow Road area of Hurlet, Glasgow. 'Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries. 'Two other men, aged 44 and 65, were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, both with serious injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.'
