
President Sisi highlights significance of ongoing negotiations between Iran, US
CAIRO – 2 June 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted on Monday the significance of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, during meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Cairo.
Sisi emphasized Egypt's stance rejecting the expansion of conflict within the region, along with the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the necessity of restoring normal navigation in Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea region.
During the meeting that was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Major General Hassan Rashad, Head of the General Intelligence Service, Iranian Foreign Minister conveyed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's greetings and appreciation to President Sisi, who valued this gesture.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing the current path to explore prospects for joint development of relations between Cairo and Tehran.
Presidency official Spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, added that the meeting addressed the rapid developments in the region, with the President affirming Egypt's position rejecting the expansion of the conflict.

Common Egyptian, Iranian will to enhance cooperation in various fields, FM Araghchi
CAIRO - 3 June 2025: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that his meeting on Monday with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was 'very good', noting that it was his fourth meeting with the Egyptian president in the past ten months, in addition to two other meetings between the Iranian and Egyptian presidents during the same period. During an interview Al Qahera News Channel, Araghchi said that the meeting tackled serious and important issues. 'We spoke in detail about a number of regional issues, including the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, and I listened to President Sisi's perspective on this matter,' Iranian Foreign Minister said. 'We also discussed bilateral relations between Iran and Egypt, and I noted the shared will of both sides to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields,' He added. Araghchi stated that it was also agreed to hold political consultations at the foreign minister level between Egypt and Iran, to include bilateral, regional, and international issues. He continued: 'On the international level, we share many commonalities, as we cooperate in a number of international organizations. Regarding regional issues, we have convergent views, particularly regarding the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people, in addition to the situations in Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon, and the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States. We have agreed to hold consultations on all these issues.' Regarding bilateral relations, the minister explained that an agreement was reached to enhance trade cooperation between the two countries.
