Donald Trump protestors led in chants against US president as they gather near his Scots golf course
A hundred or so protestors against Donald Trump have listened to speeches at a demonstration in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, close to the US president's Menie golf resort.
The demonstrators, many carrying signs and banners with anti-Trump slogans, were addressed by disability rights campaigners, a member of the CND and a local activist.
Alena Ivanova of the Stop Trump Coalition, the group behind the protest, also told the crowd they had been 'inundated' with support from US citizens following Saturday's protests in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

"In particular, the enemy's priority targets were airfields where F-16s, Mirage 2000s and Su-24s were based," Ukraine's domestic security agency said. Moscow regularly targets airfields and military bases across Ukraine, especially areas it believes are home to Western-provided weapons like the F-16 or Mirage jets.

Pakistan says deal concluded with US on tariffs, Trump cites oil reserves agreement
WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD, July 31 (Reuters) - The U.S. and Pakistan have struck a deal that will result in lower tariffs for the South Asian nation as well as an agreement in which Washington will help develop Islamabad's oil reserves, the two sides said. "We have just concluded a Deal with the Country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive Oil Reserves," U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on social media on Wednesday. "We are in the process of choosing the Oil Company that will lead this Partnership." Trump's social media post did not provide further details. Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also confirmed the deal's conclusion on social media, without elaborating further. Trump did not mention any agreement on tariffs. But Pakistan's finance ministry said on Thursday the trade deal "will result in reduction of reciprocal tariffs especially on Pakistani exports to the United States", but did not give details of what the tariffs would be. "This deal marks the beginning of a new era of economic collaboration especially in energy, mines and minerals, IT, cryptocurrency and other sectors," it said. Pakistan faced a potential 29% tariff on exports to the United States under tariffs announced by Washington in April on countries around the world. Tariffs were subsequently suspended for 90 days so negotiations could take place. Last week, Dar said the U.S. and Pakistan were "very close" to a trade deal that could come within days, after he met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday. Dar and Rubio had discussed expanding trade and ties in critical minerals and mining, both sides said after that meeting. Other Pakistani officials have also visited the U.S. in recent weeks for talks. Under Trump, Washington has attempted to renegotiate trade agreements with many countries that he threatened with tariffs over what he calls unfair trade relations. Many economists dispute Trump's characterization. U.S. total goods trade with Pakistan was an estimated $7.3 billion in 2024, according to the website of the office of the U.S. trade representative, up from around $6.9 billion in 2023. The Kremlin said on Wednesday it continues to monitor statements by US president Donald Trump regarding sanctions against Moscow, but that Russia had acquired immunity to such measures thanks to long experience. Trump said on Tuesday the United States would start imposing tariffs and other measures on Russia in 10 days if Moscow showed no progress towards ending its more than three-year-long war in Ukraine. 'We have been living under a huge number of sanctions for quite a long time, our economy operates under a huge number of restrictions,' Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters. 'Therefore, of course, we have already developed a certain immunity in this regard, and we continue to note all statements that come from President Trump, from other international representatives on this matter.' Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday that he had approved key principles for large-scale weapons agreements with the United States. 'These are large-scale agreements, which I discussed with President [Donald] Trump, and I hope very much that we will be able to implement them all,' Zelenskyy said in his evening video address to the nation, adding that it would strengthen both countries. Moldova's pro-European president Maia Sandu on Wednesday accused Russia of seeking to meddle in the September national elections, warning that Moscow was planning 'unprecedented' action to 'get its people into the next parliament'. Sandu, a vocal critic of Russia, in particular since the start of its invasion of Ukraine in 2022, has repeatedly accused Moscow of political interference in the former Soviet republic that lies between war-torn Ukraine and EU and Nato member Romania.
