A source said: 'Before he became so comfy on the This Morning sofa, Dermot was the life and soul of primetime, shiny floor programming so is the perfect fit for a show like this. 'He also played the game in his youth for the Colchester Gladiators and has turned out for some charity games. 'The show is at pilot stage but Dermot and Sam have really good chemistry so everyone is excited about taking this to a full series at some point. 'Hungry Bear are the masters in this realm, and NFL is such a growth area.' Sky Sports is the home of NFL on UK television, but ITV was the channel to most recently give the game a push. Laura Woods and then later, Craig Doyle, hosted The NFL Show before it was canned in 2024. In the past the BBC had shown highlights of games for a number of years, with Mark Chapman and then Dan Walker holding the reins. But Dermot and Sam could finally make it stick. He's certainly keen to offer up 'night time Dermot' – something he said working on Silence Is Golden allowed. This Morning viewers can't believe Dermot O'Leary's 'real age' as he and Alison Hammond celebrate his birthday on air Probably for the best, as the Super Bowl can really drag on, can't it. Vicky Pattison's Gogglebox challenges amid 'chaotic' bond with Pete Wicks

Vicky Pattison has revealed that she faced a behind-the-scenes struggle on Celebrity Gogglebox when she opened up about her "chaotic" relationship with Pete Wicks. Vicky Pattison has opened up about her "chaotic" experiences on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside her longtime friend Pete Wicks. Discussing the matter on the Get A Grip podcast, the Geordie Shore star shared insights from their recent appearance on the Channel 4 show with co-host Angela Scanlon. Having joined a list of celebrities such as Mel B and Jamie Theakston who have graced the reality series, Vicky talked about her voyage on Gogglebox with Pete Wicks, a friendship spanning over 15 years. ‌ The pair managed to bag themselves four episodes on Gogglebox this year, with Vicky announcing that they have wrapped up filming. ‌ She humorously remarked on the challenges posed by the scorching weather they faced while recording: "God knows how, but yeah, we're done. It's in the bag. Last one is this week so make sure you tune in. I can't promise any feminist rants. I was sweating me t**s off." She went on to describe with frankness the conditions at home during the shoot: "It was 40 degrees in my front room trying to do that the other day, and obviously, with the heatwave we've been having this week, it's been f*****g savage. Yeah, literally swamp gusset galore." In fits of laughter, Angela shared an anecdote where the term "full swamp gusset weather" was used by "one of the mums at the school", which resonated with Vicky's own struggle with the heatwave. Angela revealed that the mum picked up the saying from Vicky, who regretted wearing grey. Vicky then delved into her dynamic with fellow star Pete. She explained that their 15-year friendship had been "very fast", detailing how they'd, for example, "grab a drink" after filming or "pop" in somewhere after a meeting. ‌ Vicky recounted: "'Like, should we have a meal? Should we have a wild night out?' Like, especially in the early days, it was all a bit chaotic. We've never watched TV together." This comes amid feedback from some Gogglebox viewers dissatisfied with the new series, which features BBC Radio 2's well-liked Paddy McGuinness and Vernon Kay. ‌ The celebrity edition presented programmes such as 'Celebrity Bridge of Lies', 'Silence Is Golden', 'Big Zuu and AJ Tracey's Rich Flavours', ' Race Across the World ', and 'Faking It'. However, viewer reactions varied, as some openly critiqued the celebrity aspect, with comments like: "Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox." Another chimed in: "We watch normal #Gogglebox because it's hilarious and we love all the families. #celebritygogglebox is not funny and we couldn't care less about the celebs. It's just people watching telly." Meanwhile, one viewer enthused over the series and expressing eagerness to see the Eubanks on screen, dubbing them "TV gold".

Job losses as Dundee games company liquidated

One of Dundee's first phone games specialists Cobra Mobile has been liquidated. The firm faced a number of extreme difficulties in the run-up to its collapse, including partner companies going bust and the death of chairman Peter Mackintosh last year. A total of eight staff have been made redundant as a result. Cobra Mobile are regarded as pioneers of the mobile games industry in the city, being one of the first to recognise the markets' potential ahead of the ubiquity of smartphones. It was founded in 2005 by Mark Ettle, and produced games sold in their millions globally including Storm In A Teacup and iBomber. As well as selling on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store, Cobra Mobile also made games for platforms like Steam and Nintendo. Mark told The Courier a series of bad outcomes had contributed to Cobra Mobile's liquidation. He said: 'It has been a really sad combination of events. There is the recent sudden death of our chairman Peter Mackintosh. 'We have had clients go bankrupt on us during projects, leaving us hugely in debt. 'There has been a downturn in the sector, which has made it harder for us to operate moving forward with the roadmap we wanted to follow. 'This has all hit us at the same time. 'It is really sad, but it has been a fun ride too for the last 20 years.' Cobra Mobile won numerous accolades, including a European Gams Award and were nominated for multiple BAFTAs. An in 2008 the company greeted the arrival of the iPhone and the App Store, having switched their focus from developing for Java based mobile phones. 'We have made a tonne of great games,' Mark added. 'And we've won lots of awards and been nominated for loads more. We had business commendations for the way we operated and worked. 'But there are things in business you simply don't control and events you cannot foresee. 'And there is a downturn in the industry right now. This is not an isolated event. 'We had one thing on top of another — a cascading waterfall of bad outcomes.' Steven Wright of Glasgow company Dains Accountants has been appointed as the interim liquidator of Cobra Mobile. The company's eight employees will be helped through the redundancy process, a spokesperson for Dains said.
