Korea Culture Week 2025 Concludes with Spectacular Finale
The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Egypt brought the curtain down on Korea Culture Week 2025 with a spectacular closing ceremony held at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). The highlight of the evening was the Egyptian Preliminary Round of the renowned K-Pop World Festival, where rising talents competed for a chance to represent Egypt at the global finals in Changwon, South Korea.
Egyptian performers captivated the audience with their dynamic, high-energy dance routines, expressing their deep admiration and passion for K-Pop idols.
Out of 5 performance groups, the winners of the competition 1st Place The Groove, 2nd Place Hams Mohamed and 3rd Place Angster earned top honors and will be qualified for participation in the global finals, co-hosted in October by Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS).
The ceremony opened with captivating performances by graduates of the K-Pop and Gugak (traditional Korean music) academies, which were held earlier last month at the Academy of Arts. Their performances reflected the growing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Egypt and Korea.
Throughout the week, the KCC organized a rich program of events, including traditional and contemporary Korean music performances, a vibrant hanbok (traditional Korean attire) exhibition, hands-on workshops, and an engaging display of traditional Korean musical instruments. Visitors of all ages enjoyed hanbok try-on experiences and captured memorable moments in photos while wearing the colorful garments. The exhibition was curated by renowned Korean designer Kim Ji-Eun, who also led a popular workshop on hanbok accessory design that welcomed around 300 participants.
Audiences also explored the 'Korean Culture Boxes' – a traveling showcase featuring miniature exhibits of Korean life, including traditional housing, hangeul (the Korean alphabet), and various cultural artifacts, offering an interactive cultural experience.
Meanwhile, the KCC launched the K-Comics World Exhibition, marking Egypt as the first international stop. The exhibition features the globally acclaimed webtoon Hellbound, ahead of its next destinations in Canada, China, Hungary, and Japan. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Korean Cultural Center in Cairo until the end of July.
Korea Culture Week 2025 has once again served as a vibrant platform for cross-cultural dialogue, drawing thousands of visitors and celebrating the shared passion for creativity, music, and heritage between Korea and Egypt.

Although the trio officially disbanded in 2006, they reunited for high-profile performances at the 2013 Super Bowl and Beyoncé's Coachella headlining set in 2018. The iconic trio also reunited offstage in 2023, when former members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett shared backstage snapshots from Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour. In addition to Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's final Cowboy Carter Tour show featured surprise appearances from Shaboozey — who joined her for a medley of 'Sweet Honey Buckiin',' 'Pure/Honey,' and 'Summer Renaissance' — and her husband, Jay-Z, who performed 'N—s in Paris' solo and teamed up with Beyoncé for 'Crazy in Love.' Iran Confirms Nahid-2 Satellite is Operational in Orbit
Yara Sameh The Iranian Space Agency (ISA) has confirmed successful communication with the newly launched Nahid-2 satellite, having received its initial telemetry signals. This is reported by the Mehr News Agency , a partner of TV BRICS. According to ISA chief Hossein Salariyeh, these signals indicate that the satellite is stable and functioning as intended in its designated orbit following its launch from Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome on 25 July. Nahid-2 is a telecommunications satellite that utilises the Ku-band, commonly used for broadband connectivity across the globe. Salariyeh stated that post-launch efforts are now focused on systematically testing each subsystem to ensure optimal performance. The satellite, entirely designed and built domestically, is equipped with a range of features including secure data transmission, onboard storage, and direct communication with ground stations. Mohammad Nizar Headlines 'Sink,' Premiering at TIFF 2025
Yara Sameh Jordanian actor Mohammad Nizar makes a defining move in his career as he takes center stage in Sink, directed by Zain Duraie, which will have its world premiere at the 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film marks a bold step in Nizar's artistic journey, solidifying his status as one of the most promising young talents emerging from the Arab region. He first gained widespread recognition through Netflix's breakout series AlRawabi School for Girls, portraying Omar, a conflicted, charismatic character that resonated deeply with young viewers. He later appeared in acclaimed films such as Gaza Mon Amour, The Red Sea Makes Me Wanna Cry (Cannes Critics' Week), and the Jordanian short Five Boys and a Wheel. 'Mohammad always chooses roles that challenge stereotypes and reveal deeper truths,' said director Zain Duraie. 'His performance in Sink is a revelation — deeply human, painfully honest, and utterly unforgettable.'
