After 60 years, even Mick Jagger can finally get some satisfaction
Consider what the world looked like on June 4, 1965, the day (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction was released by the Rolling Stones: humanity yet to set foot on the moon, communism ruling Eastern Europe, war escalating in Vietnam, and it would be two years until the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction turned the big 2-0 as then UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher stared down striking coalminers in 1985, and space shuttles orbited the planet, Uluru was handed back to traditional owners and MTV took over a generation.
On its 40th anniversary, in the wake of September 11, the 'Axis of Evil', Iraq and Afghanistan, we spoke of the song on the internet (that's what we called it then) and wondered how the Rolling Stones' lead singer, Mick Jagger, could still do it. Could still do anything, really.
A few years later, we shared clips – originals, live performances, tributes – using these new little phones we kept in our pockets that were 100,000 times more powerful than the computer that landed that spacecraft on the moon a generation earlier.
And the world kept on changing, moving, relentlessly pushing forward: Trump, COVID, more Trump. But 60 years on – we're still singing the song and humming that riff.

'I did get Italian citizenship': American late night host Jimmy Kimmel reveals European back-up plan after Colbert cancellation
American comedian Jimmy Kimmel could be joining the likes of Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres in moving to Europe to escape the wrath of US President Donald Trump. CBS opted to cancel Kimmel rival Stephen Colbert's late night show In late June, in a surprise move some have speculated to have been politically motivated to appease the Trump administration. Kimmel, who has hosted the ABC late-night comedy show Jimmy Kimmel Live! for 22 years, also regularly criticises the Trump administration on his nightly program. 'Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is, who will go first?' Trump wrote in a Truth Social post after Colbert's cancellation. Kimmel shared his thoughts on Trump and his Europe plans during an interview with his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Silverman, on her podcast released on Monday. 'A lot of people I know are thinking about where are they going to get citizenship?' Silverman said. 'I did get Italian citizenship,' Kimmel replied. 'What's going on is as bad as you thought it was gonna be,' Kimmel remarked to Silverman, referring to Trump's second term. 'Way worse,' Silverman chimed in. Italy has relatively relaxed rules surrounding citizenship by descent, known as iure sanguinis, so long as the applicant had a living ancestor with Italian citizenship at the time they were born. It is understood Kimmel obtained Italian citizenship by descent through his maternal great-grandparents. If Kimmel does opt to leave the United States, he will join the likes of Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres, who have settled down in Ireland and England, respectively. O'Donnell has had a long-simmering feud with Trump dating back two decades to her time as a moderator on the daytime talk show The View. Last month, the President publicly threatened to strip O'Donnell's citizenship. Meanwhile, DeGeneres and her Aussie-born wife Portia de Rossi initially purchased a home in the posh Cotswolds as a holiday home. However, the former daytime host and her wife opted to stay permanently after Trump's re-election in November, with DeGeneres expressing concern the Trump administration may try to 'reverse gay marriage'.

Bob Odenkirk recalls Better Call Saul heart attack
Bob Odenkirk "turned grey right away" after suffering a heart attack on the set of Better Call Saul. The 62-year-old actor has recalled how he was lucky that co-stars Ray Campbell and Patrick Fabian were nearby after he suffered a medical emergency during filming for the Breaking Bad spin-off in 2021 as he likely would have died had the incident happened in his trailer. Bob told Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend: "It was during Covid shooting, so we were separate from the crew. "And luckily, I didn't go to my trailer. If I'd gone to my trailer, I wouldn't be here, because they don't bother you (in the trailer)." Odenkirk recalled how Campbell and Fabian's screams for help were initially mistaken as laughter at first due to the social distancing provisions in place on the set. He said: "It took a few seconds to realise people were screaming." Bob was grateful to the show's medical officer Rosa Estrada as she "immediately" began CPR after learning that no defibrillator would be available for 15 minutes. The Nobody actor later had two stents put in his coronary arteries after suffering the widow-maker heart attack but has no memory of the time he spent in hospital. He said: "It was just a blank... I'm leaving the hospital a week later. That's my first memory is talking to the doctor on my exit interview. So I was there for a week. I don't have any memory of the hospital at all." Bob previously discussed how his heart attack had ended up giving him a massive boost as it provided him with the inspiration needed to take advantage of his second chance at life. The Emmy-winning star said: "I came out of it with a strangely fresh energy towards my whole life, like I was born again. Like: 'Hey, everybody! ... Let's go back to work and make stuff!'" He added: "I really want to stay in touch with what happened there because it really was a great reconnection to being alive. And so I'd love to ruminate on it every day and try to reconnect." Bob previously credited his daughter Erin with helping during his recovery as she left him notes in the style of Christopher Nolan's movie Memento after he woke up every day struggling to remember previous events. He told Entertainment Tonight: "You made a chart for me of what happened the last week. "Every day I woke up and I didn't know what had happened to me or kind of almost what was happening, and Erin made a nice chart it was her version of the movie Memento, where I could look up and see: 'You had a heart attack, these people visited, then you came to, you had the surgery.'"

Dancing with the Stars couple perform as Trump, Melania
A contestant on Israel's Dancing with the Stars has paid homage to US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump by dressing as the couple while performing to one of the Republican's favourite songs. Taylor Malkov and her dancing partner Haim Pershtein appeared on the dance floor, with Malkov dressed as the First Lady on inauguration day, and Pershtein dressed as a yellow-tied Mr Trump. Malkov, who is an actress and online personality, was born in the USA but moved to Israel when she was a baby with her Israeli father and Israeli born American mother. WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW The couple's performance started with the US national anthem playing, before the music transitioned into YMCA by Village People, a song used by Mr Trump at his rallies throughout his run to become President once more. The bizarre tribute to Mr Trump took place around a week ago, however, video of the performance has only just started circulating online. The video was posted online by X account Vivid Prowess. They page said the performers 'killed it' with their high-octane moves. Online, the reaction to performance was overwhelmingly positive, with many saying they 'loved it', while others tagged the US President and First Lady in hope of them seeing the unique tribute. 'It's astonishing what six months of sane strong leadership can do in America. This was unimaginable last year. The Golden Era indeed,' one user wrote. 'America dancing with joy again!' wrote another. It is unclear if the US President has seen the performance yet.
