Museum of Ice Cream Singapore reopens
Beat the heat with your children at the newly renovated Museum of Ice Cream Singapore in Loewen Road. The attraction, which opened in 2021, has refreshed its installations, while keeping its iconic pink aesthetic.
Go on the whimsical fruit swings, dance in the Infinity Mirror Party Zone and have fun finding your way out of the Banana Maze. Hit all five dessert stations for unlimited servings of ice cream from Singapore brand Denzy Gelato, Ben & Jerry's from the United States and more. There are up to 19 flavours and eight toppings.

To celebrate the relaunch, you can join free workshops to make ice cream and personalise keychain tags at selected time slots on weekends until May 25. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis when you buy tickets online (tickets.museumoficecream.sg).
Admission starts at $35. Kids aged two years and below enter free, and those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Until May 30, Singapore residents get 10 per cent off on weekday tickets with the promotion code SGSPRINKLE10.
Tom and Jerry-themed promotion at Sushi Express

Several food and beverage brands recently offered mini plushies as promotional merchandise, available with the purchase of their products ranging from burgers to pizza to chocolate malt drinks.
Here are two more adorable additions: plushie keychains capturing classic cartoon characters Tom and Jerry's playful antics with Japanese food.
One keychain shows Tom emerging from an ebi tempura, while the other features Jerry peeking out of a tamago sushi.
Get these from conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain Sushi Express, which is presenting a Tom and Jerry-themed promotion in celebration of the duo's 85th anniversary.
Until June 30, receive a stamp for every $10 you spend. Collect five stamps to buy a keychain for $12.90 or use 10 stamps to get one free. Other collectibles include melamine plates and desk decorations.
And inspired by Jerry's love for cheese, your family can savour three new sushi: Smokin' Camembert Salmon ($3), Margherita Jumbo Shrimp ($3) and Carbonara Jumbo Scallop ($3.50).

Be@rbrick is a new music-driven animated comedy series based on Japanese company Medicom Toy's iconic collectible figures. Streaming on Apple TV+, the 13-episode show follows teenage singer-songwriter Jasmine Finch and her bandmates as they pursue their dreams and inspire others to do the same.
But it is a real challenge when their roles and futures have been predetermined by their painted-on looks, and enforced by Ms Goldenshorts, the most powerful Be@rbrick in town. To shape their destinies, Jasmine and her friends realise they have to take action.
Produced and animated by American film studio DreamWorks Animation and Japanese creative agency Dentsu Inc, the series features upbeat, original songs and aims to empower children to embrace their true selves through the universal language of music.
Kids are also reminded how everyone in the world is unique, has the right to be different and should be accepted for his or her individuality.

Food Picks: Ce Soir restaurant's new menu showcases its evolving modern Asian direction

ST PHOTOS: EUNICE QUEK SINGAPORE – It may have started out as a modern European restaurant in 2022, but, under the wing of Perak-born Singaporean chef Seth Lai, 31, since October 2023, Ce Soir has shifted in a more contemporary Asian direction. And that is not a bad thing. Because who knew that the winner of Singapore's Michelin Guide Young Chef Award 2024 can brew a solid wintermelon soup with zuwaigani (Japanese snow crab) – worthy to be on any good Chinese restaurant's menu? I am also pleasantly surprised by his claypot rice made with five grains – spelt, barley, corn, and red and brown rice – enhanced with a rich lobster stock and sakura ebi. It is paired with tender South African abalone. And while it may be quite commonplace now to get lovely rolls at an upscale establishment, Ce Soir's seaweed bread has a wonderfully crisp crust. The three dishes are part of the $228++ seven-course dinner menu, which includes a meat main of Iberico pork. There is also a $168++ five-course dinner and $68++ three-course lunch. Both dinner courses start with a trio of snacks – buri, tomato and sour plum gel; uni and soursop tart; and foie gras sandwiched between apricot wafers on a walnut biscuit. From the petit four finale, I prefer the kaya-misu – kaya mascarpone on a coffee tart shell. Not all elements work. I am not too fond of the foie gras sauce in the lobster dish and do not quite get the almond cookie-inspired petit four. But I appreciate chef Lai trying to do more – who else will combine uni and soursop and make it work? I hope he continues to evolve in his culinary journey and draw on his personal stories, which truly make his dishes shine. Ex-Johnny's group Tokio to disband after scandal revelation
TOKYO - Japanese pop group Tokio, formerly part of Johnny and Associates, said on June 25 that it has decided to disband, following member Taichi Kokubun's hiatus over a misconduct scandal, according to a statement on its official website. The all-male group is widely known in Japan for its support for Fukushima Prefecture, following the 2011 nuclear crisis. It debuted under the talent agency but later left after hundreds of sexual abuse allegations surfaced against the agency's late founder Johnny Kitagawa. 'We decided it would be difficult to regain trust and continue receiving support as a group,' the group posted on its official website. Last week, Kokubun, 50, said he was indefinitely suspending his activities in a press release from his office, also named Tokio. Neither Kokubun nor his office has elaborated on what the breaches entailed, but a source close to the matter said they involved behavior that could be considered sexual harassment. After the 2011 accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, the then five-member group helped promote local agricultural products through commercials, as their variety program had featured them engaging in farming in the prefecture.
