Singer Ne-Yo has opened up about the dynamics of his polyamorous relationship, clarifying why his girlfriends are not allowed to date other men while he maintains non-exclusivity.
In a recent interview on The Angie Martinez Show aired recently, Ne-Yo, 45, shared that while he did not demand exclusivity from his partners, they requested it from him. 'I did not ask for their exclusivity. They came to me and said, 'I want to be exclusive to you and just you,'' Ne-Yo explained. He added, 'I said, 'You understand that your exclusivity to me does not mean my exclusivity to you? You understand this, yes? You're OK with it?''
Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, recently introduced his four girlfriends — Cristina, Arielle, Moneii, and Bri — to the public. He emphasised that the foundation of their relationship is transparency and honesty. 'The main rule is to just keep it a buck,' he said. 'We're not gonna lie to each other… I ain't selling no dreams, and I'm not forcing anybody to be here.'
The 'So Sick' singer also addressed assumptions that his partners may have been manipulated into the arrangement. 'If for whatever reason you decide this isn't for you anymore, the door is never locked,' he said, stressing that each woman is in the relationship by choice.
