New, spacious anganwadi facility set up at Doddinduvadi village
Mysuru: Anganwadi children of Doddinduvadi, who benefited from Montessori-based English medium education, have a new and spacious facility. Thanks to CSR funds, an NGO working to impart English medium education to rural children has created a new facility at their village, which is located in Chamarajanagar district. The new anganwadi has addressed the challenge of accommodating all the children in the village, located about 75 km away from Mysuru. The earlier facility was too small to accommodate them all. Chamarajanagar zilla panchayat chief executive officer Mona Roat, who inaugurated the new anganwadi centre in Doddinduvadi village on Thursday, encouraged parents to fully utilise this premium educational opportunity provided to their children at their doorsteps. Amyga Foundation, with CSR support from Walvoil Fluid Power India Private Limited, constructed the facility. Lakshmi Ramamurthy, Amyga Foundation's managing trustee, told TOI that they have been working together with the department of women and child development since 2019, offering free Montessori-based English medium education. She claimed that their foundation serves approximately 600 anganwadi children across India, with 250 children in Karnataka. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo The foundation utilises Montessori materials and qualified teachers to deliver education at no cost. BMC floats tender to reconstruct collapsed retaining wall at Mumbai lake
Mumbai: Almost a month after a 15-foot section of the compound wall at the historic Banganga Lake near Mahalakshmi Mandir collapsed on May 25 following rainfall in the area, BMC has decided to reconstruct the collapsed retaining wall at the heritage precinct. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Situated on the northeast side of the heritage tank, the reconstruction will be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh. The structure is a designated heritage site, and no injuries were reported in the collapse. This retaining wall, which crashed, was attached to several unauthorised structures that were recently razed in a joint operation by the BMC and the GSB Temple Trust. In the aftermath of the incident, the civic body, state archaeological department, and members of the GSB Temple Trust conducted an urgent site visit to inspect the impact and determine the plausible factors that led to the crash. Now, the BMC has floated a tender to appoint a contractor to reconstruct the retaining wall within a contract period of 25 days. In its terms, the civic body has stated that only contractors who are empanelled with the state archaeology department (directorate of archaeology and museum) or the heritage cell of BMC can apply for the work at the heritage precinct.
