ITV Lorraine Kelly stuns Scottish plane passengers with inflight announcement
Lorraine Kelly delivered unexpected in-flight entertainment to fellow travellers journeying to the Orkney 2025 Island Games.
The beloved morning television presenter was travelling on Loganair's Dundee to Kirkwall service last week in anticipation of the highly awaited Island Games.
The broadcasting icon, who regularly visits the islands, left passengers astonished when she delivered an impromptu announcement over the aircraft's PA system.
Clearly thrilled to take control of the microphone, the television personality warmly greeted her fellow travellers before the flight's departure. Her spontaneous address was met with enthusiastic clapping from everyone aboard.
The 65-year-old ITV presenter announced: "Hi everybody I'm Lorraine Kelly and I want to welcome you on this Loganair flight. Of course we have just landed in Dundee and we are on our way to Kirkwall.", reports the Daily Record.
"This is the last call for the Orkney Island Games. I hope you all have a brilliant time. I've just always wanted to do this, this is super cool so thank you so much. Enjoy, you'll love Orkney, it's the best place in the world."
Kelly serves as an ambassador for the 20th edition of the games, which commenced today. The competition brings together athletes from 24 islands worldwide to compete across 12 different sports throughout the week-long tournament.

The games, which first launched in 1985 on the Isle of Man, were scheduled to be formally opened today by the Princess Royal.
Loganair serves as the Official Airline Partner of the 20th International Island Games.

Island Games: Isle of Man triathlete returns to event after 2023 crash
A Manx triathlon competitor who crashed out of the Island Games in 2023 is returning to the competition after a "slow and steady" Looker fractured his neck twice when he came off his bike during the cycling leg of the endurance event at the last contest in said his recuperation had been "a bit of a long road" but "there was not a moment" where he thought he would not get back to training and be ready to compete for this year's games in Orkney."We've got some fantastic triathletes on the team so it was always gonna be a tough task but thankfully I got the call. I'm ready to get my revenge on the event," he said. Despite his injuries, the overall performance of the team in 2023 saw it take home a bronze medal - which Mr Looker was presented with in his hospital bed. He said after time spent in a neck brace, and with the support of his wife Kay, he had been able to "build back to about 95% of where my body was"."I'm upright and I'm able to do exactly what I did before - if all I have to manage is a few niggles then I'll deal with it," he said."I also had a tough time mentally but Kay was there for me throughout, even though she was becoming very heavily pregnant with our daughter". After resting and recovering, Mr Looker said he had managed to fit in 18 months of training in the build up to this year's competition, which had to be "slow and steady" at for his third games, and with his wife and daughter travelling to cheer him on, he said he was "genuinely really looking forward" to representing the Isle of Man during Sunday's triathlon event which takes place around Stromness for another medal, the triathlete said "we have a really strong squad of both men and women who have put the training in"."The goal for this games has to be bronze or better", he at the Orkney Island Games was set to begin following Saturday's opening ceremony and continues until 18 July. ITV will be airing a slew of re-runs of the programme fronted by Stephen Mulhern before its usual three quiz mainstays. As usual, Adil Ray's Lingo will then follow at 3pm before This Morning star Ben Shephard swoops in with Tipping Point at 4pm. The four-hour marathon will then be closed out by ITV's quizzing juggernaut, The Chase, at 5pm. It means fans will have a total of four hours worth of quiz shows to keep them entertained. This schedule shake-up comes shortly after ITV launched its very own dedicated quiz channel to purely focus on their quiz outputs. ITV Quiz replaced ITVBe known for airing hit reality shows and programmes from across the pond. Much-loved shows such as TOWIE and Real Housewives moved to ITV2 as a result of the massive shake-up.
