It is believed that without Ganpati Bappa's blessings, no task can be completed successfully. This makes Ganesh Chaturthi a festival of profound religious and spiritual importance. Let us explore when Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated in 2025, the auspicious time (shubh muhurat) for worship, and its deeper significance. When Is Ganesh Chaturthi In 2025? Depending on regional traditions, the deity is worshipped for 5, 7, or 10 days, after which the idol is immersed in water with due reverence. To seek Lord Ganesha's blessings: According to Hindu tradition, sincere worship on this day is said to eliminate obstacles, bring peace, and help fulfil pending wishes and endeavours. BHU To Consider Both CUET, 12th Marks For Admission After Over 1000 Seats Left Vacant
BHU Admission 2025: For the vacant seats in UG and PG courses, BHU will now consider both CUET scores and academic merit, including 12th or graduation marks. Despite thorough exam preparation, results sometimes fall short of expectations. Entrance tests like CUET can be particularly unforgiving, where even minor mistakes can undermine significant effort. This often leaves students questioning their next steps. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has alleviated some of this concern by introducing a new admission policy. For the vacant seats in UG and PG courses, BHU will now consider both CUET scores and academic merit, including 12th or graduation marks. This decision benefits students who may not have ranked well in CUET but have strong academic records. The UGC emphasises that vacant seats are detrimental to both the university and the students. With classrooms and resources ready, it is illogical for seats to remain unoccupied. Hence, BHU and other universities now have the option to admit students based on merit as well. According to reports, thousands of seats are still vacant in various courses at BHU. PG Courses: Out of around 10,000 seats, approximately 1,200 seats are vacant. UG Courses: Out of 9,200 seats, a significant number of seats are still vacant. UGC says that leaving such seats vacant is a waste of resources, hence they must be filled at all costs. UGC Secretary Manish R. Joshi has stated that future admissions will require CUET scores, but this year, vacant seats can be filled based on merit. This provides relief for students, as they need not worry about CUET scores this year. With vacant seats at BHU, the opportunity for admission remains. Even if students do not perform well in CUET, they can still study at a prestigious institute like BHU if they have a solid academic record. This new policy offers hope to those who have been disadvantaged by costly coaching and lengthy entrance exams, saving them from wasting an entire year. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Japan is often admired for its discipline and unique way of making daily tasks simple. One reason behind this is the kind of education children receive from an early age. Recently, an Indian family living in Japan shared an interesting look at class 9 textbooks. While Indian students usually focus on subjects like English, science and maths, Japanese students are introduced to many practical life skills. They study lessons on job skills, teamwork and even household tasks such as cooking and planting. There are books on Japanese literature, grammar and sentence building as well, which help them grow academically. As per the student, there is a Job Skill book that teaches students about different kinds of jobs and useful work skills. The Jujutsu and Technology book includes lessons on new structures, bullet trains, growing plants and other life skills. Doutoku is the moral education book, which guides students on how to behave in public, how to keep society clean and how to live responsibly at home. Kateika is the home economics book, where students learn how to interact with others, cook simple meals and work on group projects. Kokugo focuses on Japanese literature, grammar and sentence formation. Rika is the science textbook. Social Media Reacts With Surprise Reacting to the post, a user wrote, 'Bhaii iski books kitni rang birangi hai, mujhe bhi chahiyeee. Mere books mein toh picture hii nahi rehte. (Their books are so colourful, I want them too. My books don't even have pictures." 'Kitni easy book hai or ek bharat wale itni moti book de denge 2 parts mein. (Such an easy book, but in India they give such thick books, divided into two parts)," a comment read. An individual stated, 'Japan is really beautiful." One more added, 'Wow, in 6 months she already understands Japanese." Until junior high school, exams are not counted and marks are not added.
