It is currently unclear if
LeBron James
will remain with the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2025-2026 campaign. Despite not negotiating a longer-term contract with the organization, the four-time NBA MVP chose to exercise his $52.6 million player option for the upcoming season.
Now, recently, the team's general manager, Rob Pelinka, opened up about the NBA icon and his future with the team. Additionally, NBA pro Luka Doncic also did the same a few days ago.

LeBron James
retires with the Los Angeles Lakers amid an uncertain future
LeBron James' contract with the Los Angeles Lakers is about to expire. In December, he turns 41. Furthermore, there is more ambiguity in his future than there has been in a long time.
According to
Rob Pelinka
, the general manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, it "would be great" if James retired with the team.
He opened up about the same at the press announcement on Saturday, which was conducted to announce Luka Doncic's three-year, $165 million contract extension.
When asked if he thought that the giant would play for the L.A. Lakers until the end of his career, Rob Pelinka responded:
"All the interactions we've had with LeBron and his camp, Rich Paul in particular, have been very positive and supportive… Very professional and Rich has been great.

The
Los Angeles Lakers
' general manager then said:
"In terms of LeBron's career, I think the No. 1 thing we have to do there is respect he and his family's decision in terms of how long he's going to play. I think that's first and foremost. We want to respect his ability to come up with his timetable and that's really important. If he had the chance to retire as a Laker, that would be great."

However, he didn't say anything specific to the reporters.
Meanwhile, he wasn't the only person from the team to think that.
NBA
player Luka Doncic also shared the same sentiment.
The Slovenian superstar has recently made his position known. This happened amidst growing issues about LeBron James' schedule and the team's choice to focus on Luka Doncic.
Luka Doncic
, the NBA's all-time best scorer, also wants LeBron James to end his career wearing purple and gold. However, he hasn't given any justification for his remarks as of yet.

Carter Hart's NHL future in limbo as NHL insider blasts return rumors post-Hockey Canada verdict

The future of Carter Hart in the NHL is unclear (Getty Images) The NHL future of Carter Hart remains shrouded in uncertainty, even after his acquittal in the high-profile Hockey Canada sexual assault case. While fans continue to debate whether the former Philadelphia Flyers goalie deserves another shot on the ice, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has strongly advised against making any assumptions. Elliotte Friedman says it's 'irresponsible' to speculate on Carter Hart's NHL future post-acquittal Speaking on his 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman addressed the growing speculation around Hart's potential return to the league. Despite being found not guilty along with four other players in the 2018 Hockey Canada case, Hart's status remains unresolved in the eyes of the NHL. 'I think it is really irresponsible to speculate until we have a legal ruling on this,' Friedman said. 'I don't think anything more needs to be said about that until we know if they're eligible to play. I just don't think it's smart to speculate on where they could play.' The Mid Summer Check-In Across The NHL | 32 Thoughts The NHL has made it clear that acquittal does not equate to reinstatement. The league released a statement acknowledging that the players' behavior—though not criminally punishable—was still 'very disturbing' and 'unacceptable.' The league added that it would be 'reviewing and considering the judge's findings' before making any decisions about eligibility. Public relations risk keeps teams like Oilers away from Carter Hart amid unresolved eligibility While Hart is technically an unrestricted free agent, teams are hesitant. Analyst Avry Lewis-McDougall shut down rumors linking Hart to the Edmonton Oilers during the Fanatics View Hockey Show, stating bluntly: 'It's a hard no.' He cited both the unresolved nature of Hart's status and the inevitable media firestorm. 'Teams don't want the PR headache,' he said. 'You should be looking at somebody you can bring in with less baggage.' With the Oilers needing a reliable goalie after two consecutive Stanley Cup Final losses, Lewis-McDougall emphasized that Hart's off-ice issues make him an unsuitable option—even if he's cleared to return. For now, Carter Hart's road back to the NHL remains a legal, ethical, and reputational maze. 'She just wants attention': Simone Biles faces unexpected NFL backlash as feud with Riley Gaines fuels fan criticism

Once celebrated as the NFL 's 'it couple,' Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are now facing unexpected backlash. From viral sideline moments to social media criticism, fans have turned on Biles amid controversy. Her public feud with Riley Gaines may be fueling the fallout as her NFL support takes a surprising hit. From viral sideline sweetheart to polarizing figure on Bears turf Not long ago, Simone Biles was hailed as the gold standard of NFL WAGs (wives and girlfriends), captivating fans with her heartfelt sideline moments alongside husband Jonathan Owens, now a Chicago Bears safety. In December 2024, she was praised for her warm embrace and playful handshake with Owens before a Bears game, a viral moment that had fans dubbing them the 'real MVP couple,' even above the media-favorite Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. But fast forward to the Bears' Family Fest on August 3, 2025, and the narrative around Biles has taken a sharp turn. Although the couple shared another affectionate pregame interaction, the public reaction was jarringly different. Fans who once celebrated Biles turned hostile, criticizing everything from her fashion choices to her very presence. One commenter asked, 'She hasn't been fully canceled yet?' while another bluntly called her 'overrated as a human being. ' Fan resentment grows as feud with Riley Gaines resurfaces The sudden shift in public sentiment may trace back to Biles' public clash with Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and outspoken conservative voice on women's sports. The feud, which played out on social media and cable networks, polarized audiences and cast Biles in a political spotlight she hadn't occupied before. Now, some NFL fans appear to be taking sides—against her. While there's no concrete evidence that her dispute with Gaines triggered the backlash at Family Fest, it seems to have intensified the public's scrutiny. Critics even mocked her for not wearing Bears gear, suggesting she was stealing the spotlight. 'She's not even a real fan,' one user joked, pointing out her neutral outfit. From America's sweetheart to NFL target Simone Biles may be used to pressure from years of elite competition, but this type of fan revolt marks new territory. The internet has turned on the Olympic icon with alarming speed—transforming her from NFL darling to divisive figure. As one social media user harshly put it, 'She used to represent strength. Now she just wants attention.' 'Stop practicing with men': Andre Agassi's father once blamed male practice partners for shocking downfall of Serena Williams and Venus Williams

Andre Agassi's father once blamed male practice partners for the shocking downfall of Serena Williams and Venus Williams (Image via Getty) Venus Williams and Serena Williams were once given a very strong piece of advice by Mike Agassi, the father of tennis legend Andre Agassi. This happened in 2004, when both Venus and Serena were struggling on the court. That year, neither of them won a Grand Slam singles title. Their rankings dropped, and people began to wonder what was going wrong. Mike Agassi told Tennis Week in 2004 that he spoke directly to Richard Williams , the father and coach of Venus and Serena. He believed the sisters were losing confidence because they were practicing with men, not women. According to him, this made their game weaker instead of stronger. Mike Agassi told Richard Williams in 2004 to stop Venus and Serena Williams from training with men Mike Agassi said the big mistake was that Venus Williams and Serena Williams were practicing with male players. He explained that when the sisters hit powerful shots, the men easily returned them. That made the sisters try even harder, hitting bigger and riskier shots which often went out. As a result, they lost their rhythm, missed their serves, and slowly started losing confidence. 'I was talking with Serena's father and I said: the reason your daughters are losing is because they are practicing with men,' Mike Agassi told Tennis Week. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Specialist Down Jackets for Ultralight Adventures Trek Kit India Learn More Undo 'You try to hit bigger and bigger until the ball goes out. Then you lose your serve and your confidence.' Agassi also pointed out that Russian players like Anastasia Myskina, Maria Sharapova, and Svetlana Kuznetsova were winning Grand Slam titles that year. He believed they were doing better because they trained with each other, not with men. 'They are not even half as talented as Venus and Serena,' he added, 'but they have more confidence because of how they practice.' He said Serena always practiced with boys and didn't care about who she played. She even beat older boys with ease. 'In practice, all Serena did was play guys,' Macci once said. Macci also recalled that when Serena was just 11, she said she was better than tennis star John McEnroe. 'She believed it,' Macci said . 'She had the fire and confidence of a true champion.'
