To the rest of us I'd like to say – follow due process, keep faith in the justice system – it's long and hard but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Do not take law into your own hands, justice will be served. Most importantly, stay true to your conscience."
Her comments come after Thursday's Supreme Court ruling in which a bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan overturned the Karnataka High Court order granting bail to the accused.
Justice Mahadevan, in one of the judgments, said, "The grant of bail will impact the trial, and the witnesses can be influenced," calling the High Court's earlier decision a "mechanical exercise of power." The Supreme Court also strongly warned against giving Darshan any special treatment in custody, stating that no one is above the law.
Details of the case
For the unversed, Darshan, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and others, is accused of involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy.
Renukaswamy was allegedly kidnapped, tortured for three days in Bengaluru, and then killed. The incident was reportedly triggered by obscene messages allegedly sent by Renukaswamy to Pavithra Gowda, Darshan's close friend and co-actor. Darshan allegedly instructed his fans to accost and kidnap Renukaswamy, leading to the brutal murder.
Darshan was initially arrested on June 11, 2024, and had been granted interim bail on medical grounds in October 2024 before being given regular bail in December 2024 by the High Court.

Agency: PTI Bengaluru, Aug 16 (PTI) Kannada actor Darshan on Saturday said he would 'fully cooperate" for the release of his film 'The Devil'. He also expressed confidence that his 'celebrities" — as he calls his fans — will also stand by his decision. The message was conveyed through his wife Vijayalakshmi's Instagram account. Directed by Prakash Veer, the first song of the film was supposed to have been released on August 15. But with the Supreme Court cancelling his bail, Darshan was taken into custody a day before, on August 14. Following which, the plans for the film were reportedly put on hold. However, Darshan said his first duty is to support the directors who believed in him and the producers who have invested crores of money in him. 'So, I hope that all the work of my film 'The Devil' will proceed without any hindrance. I hereby inform you that you (makers of the film) have my full cooperation. This announcement marks a new chapter in a longstanding and complex relationship between the siblings. What did Faisal Khan say? During an interview with 'Bollywood Bubble', Faisal said that he has decided to end all relations with the family. He emphasized that he would no longer be part of the family of his late parents, Tahir Husain and Zeenat Tahir Husain, and renounced any claims to their estate. Furthermore, he stated that he would not accept any financial support from Aamir Khan or reside in any property owned by the family. What is the entire matter? What response did Aamir Khan give on this? In response, Aamir Khan and his family released a joint statement expressing their distress over Faisal's allegations, labeling them as 'hurtful and misleading.' They asserted that all decisions regarding Faisal's well-being were made collectively, in consultation with medical professionals, and motivated by love and concern for his health. The family emphasized their unity and requested that the media handle the matter with sensitivity. The rift between the brothers is not new. In the past, Faisal had accused his family of declaring him mentally ill and attempting to take control of his assets.
