Ramez Elon Masr: When Did Pranks Turn Into Personal Invasions?
Another year, another wave of controversy was stirred by Ramez Galal's prank show, 'Ramez Elon Masr.' While debates about the show's concept and how much the guests know are nothing new, some things remain unacceptable no matter how much time passes—especially when they involve invading personal lives.
How is it ever acceptable to make jokes about a celebrity's marriage or their relationship with an ex? That happened in Ahmed El Awady's episode, with a remark suggesting that someone else was probably enjoying the prank, let alone the intro itself where he implied he was using his ex wife for clout and fame.
Then came the direct question to Ahmed Fahmi about who initiated his divorce from Hannah El Zahed, digging up a personal detail that should have no place in a public conversation.
If this proves anything, it is that the fine line between humor and outright disrespect is fading year after year. The real question is: when will this stop being tolerated instead of continuing to top the ratings at the expense of other people's reputation?
As a host, respecting your guests and audience should be a given—it never has to come at the expense of humor if the joke is funny by any means. Even for guests who might be in on the prank, it's unsettling to see them not only allow such personal topics to be brought up but also engage in them.
There is no denying that this genre has a wide appeal, and when done right, it can be lighthearted and fun. However, what truly needs to be addressed is the repeated pattern of crossing personal boundaries under the guise of comedy. Do you agree? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Dana Halabi Opens Up About Marriage with Mohamed Ragab

Ragab revealed the pair had privately married a year and a half ago, after months of speculation about their relationship Sunday in the latest episode of actor and prankster Ramez Galal's prank show 'Ramez Elon Masr'. In September 2024, several media outlets reported that they got married — a claim that had yet to be confirmed or addressed by the couple until now. Halabi had previously addressed the rumors about their relationship without revealing any details. "I love the artist Mohamed Ragab and I worked with him on my last project. My personal life is a red line and I will neither deny nor confirm the rumor regardless of its truth. I do not want to talk about this subject." In a candid interview with " Hya" TV Channel, Halabi recounted she married Ragab after a period of dating and engagement. The pair met for the first time on the set of their 2022 TV series "Mashwar Al-Wansh", where mutual admiration developed between them. "Our family and friends knew, but I preferred not to announce it to the public, because I don't like anyone to interfere in my personal life and I was also afraid of envy, especially since Mohamed Ragab is a special person, but the time has come to reveal out marriage, especially since Ragab announced it,".
