'Sharing Yibin Globally' City Culture Event Kicks Off in Beijing, Enthralling Chinese & Int'l Guests with Yibin's Charm

Associated Press10 hours ago
On August 15th, the 'Sharing Yibin with the World' city cultural experience event kicked off in the core area of Beijing's central axis. International students from Russia, UK, France, Mexico, Spain and other countries, as well as Chinese and foreign media groups, gathered together and boarded the unique Yibin-style 'mobile viewing restaurant' bus, enjoying the dazzling night view of Beijing while tasting authentic Yibin cuisine and Yibin Wuliangye, and experiencing the unique charm of Yibin, the 'first city of the Yangtze River'.
At the event, Chinese and foreign guests paused to tick off in front of the well decorated Yibin city scenery installation. Through graphic displays and explanations, they gained an in-depth understanding of Yibin's tourism culture, special cuisine and industrial development achievements. Inside the sightseeing bus, the aroma of authentic Yibin Wuliangye, Yibin Burning Noodles, Lizhuang White Pork, Junlian Peppercorn Chicken and other delicacies fills the air. While tasting the food, the guests interacted with the staff in both languages and enthusiastically learned the Yibin dialect. The scene was filled with laughter and joy.
'This is my first time tasting Wuliangye, it's so fragrant! Yibin Burning Noodles also has a very rich taste, I really like it!' An international student from France expressed his excitement. One of the Mexican student raved about Li Zhuang White Pork: 'The way to eat Li Zhuang White Pork is so interesting. The thin slices of meat paired with the special dipping sauce are amazing!'
Located at the confluence of the Yangtze River, Minjiang River, and Jinsha River, Yibin is celebrated as the first city along the Yangtze River, China's Liquor Capital, China's Bamboo Capital, and China's Power Battery Capital. With a 2,200-year history of city establishment, 3,000-year history of tea cultivation, and 4,000-year history of liquor brewing, Yibin is now steadfastly pursuing its goal of becoming an international tourism city. It aims to build 'three regions and three centers,' accelerating the integration of its cultural and tourism industries with global standards. Guided by the principle of blending scenic landscapes with urban development, the city is establishing a framework for international tourism.
This event is jointly hosted by Beijing Yibin Guesthouse and Wuliangye Beijing Marketing Zone. It seeks to let more international friends know and understand Yibin through the culinary experiences.
A representative from the Beijing Yibin Guesthouse stated that the event will showcase Yibin's cuisine, culture, and city image on the world stage of Beijing Central Axis—a World Cultural Heritage. Future cultural, economic, trade, and tourism exchanges will deepen cooperation between Beijing and Yibin. Through diversified international promotions, Yibin aims to enhance its global influence, attract more global attention, and advance its development as an international tourism destination.
It is reported that the event will last until August 17th, during which time there will be exhibitions of Yibin's characteristic products, cultural and tourism promotions, etc., to further demonstrate the vitality and style of Yibin city.

Florinda Ho ends engagement with firefighter fiance?

20 Aug - Rumours are rife that Florinda Ho, the daughter of casino tycoon Stanley Ho and Ina Chan, has called it quits with her fiance, Douglas. Speculations of the breakup sparked recently, after netizens noticed that Florinda has deleted all of the photos of her with Douglas. This includes the photo she posted in November last year where they celebrated their 1,000th day of dating. She also posted photos of her trip to Thailand, but the photos only featured her on her own, unlike her previous trip photos. Florinda was last seen with Douglas in public back in April, when they went to see Nicholas Tse in concert together. Since then, Douglas has not attended the Ho family event. Both parties have not responded to the breakup rumours yet. Florinda announced her engagement to Douglas Wong, a firefighter captain in September 2022. Prior to Douglas, her most known romance was with TVB actor Joel Chan. (Photo Source: Mingpao, SOHU)

Wang Xiaofei's wife denies leaking photo of Barbie Hsu's daughter

20 Aug - Wang Xiaofei's wife Mandy (Ma Hsiao-mei) has recently denied allegations that she was the one who has leaked a photo of Wang Hsi-yueh (aka Yue'er), the daughter of Wang and the late Barbie Hsu, to the public. Mandy recently took to Instagram to clarify the situation, telling her followers that the image, of Yue'er wearing pajamas and holding a popsicle, was actually taken and shared by "a rude friend" of Wang. "My husband asked me to speak up and clarify this directly. The photo was taken by one of his rude friends who came to our house, took the picture on his own, and posted it to his own WeChat Moments. My husband only found out later and has already scolded his friend for it. I personally wasn't even home that day, thank you," she posted. As for netizens claiming that Yue'er's hairstyle was definitely done by Mandy, she responded, "That was the child's own idea!" "Why did I post this on Instagram? Because the child has her own Instagram too and she also finds these netizens who talk nonsense completely ridiculous! I just wanted her to see it for herself," she added. After the photo went public, netizens praised Yue'er's long, black hair and delicate features, with many calling her "a spitting image of Barbie." However, due to the close-up nature and clarity of the photo, many online voiced concerns about the children's privacy being violated. (Photo Source: Mandy IG, Oriental Daily)
