Throwback: Did you know Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta were co-stars even before Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?
Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta's first show
Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta were a part of a show titled Hum Sab Baraati. The show aired on April 4, 2004, on Zee TV and was a popular sitcom back then. While Joshi portrayed Nathu Mehta, Munmun played Mithi Bhouji. The show focuses on a family that specialises in wedding arrangements. Hum Sab Baraati even starred Dinyar Contractor, Sulabha Arya, Bhavana Balsavar, Tiku Talsania and many others in important roles. A clip from the show has been going viral like wildfire on the internet.
This video will drop your jaw as it is the first time Jethalal can be seen shouting at Babita. In this video, Nathu seems to be a coordinator, whereas Mithi is giving an audition.

Mithi confidently recites the dialogue by reading from a book, "Namaskar. Aaj mai kitni khush hu ki meri shaadi Amar se ho gayi hai. Jisse mai pyaar karti hu. Apna devta maanti hu. Aur muje pyaar bhara ghar...(Greetings. I am very happy today that I got married to Amar, whom I love and consider him my god. I need a house full of love...)
As Mithi recites the dialogue plainly, Nathu gets irritated and stops her. Nathu tells her, "Tum samachaar padh rahi ho? Kirdaar kya bataya aapko maine. Choti bahu kya kaam karti hai news channel mai samachar padne ka? (Are you reading the news? Didn't I inform you about a character? Will the younger daughter-in-law read news on news channel?)"
This short clip from the show has garnered a huge response from fans, many of whom expressed surprise at seeing Munmun Dutta and Dilip Joshi in a project prior to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. It is also reported that it was Joshi who reported Munmun's name for the hit sitcom.

Not Rupali Ganguly or Dilip Joshi, Smriti Irani is TV's highest-paid actor with Rs 14 lakh per episode for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2
Smriti Irani is back to acting with the second season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The actress was reported to be charging a hefty payment of Rs 14 lakh per episode, becoming the highest-paid TV actor in India. Reacting to the reports, Smriti Irani herself has confirmed such remuneration. Smriti Irani confirms becoming highest paid actor on small screen In a latest chat with CNN News18, Smriti Irani admitted that she is getting the record-breaking-paycheck while highlighting how she earned it with a lot of hard work and delivering on TRP numbers. The actress said, 'You also set that benchmark as a professional to say that if you deliver on history on numbers and revenue, why not? Because not everybody who's watching us knows we get to negotiate our contracts as employees.' Smriti Irani proudly said that not only pay-parity, she has beaten the boys and girls. 'I'm a part of a union, so the first thing I do is actually have my union number registered. We all are part of a larger organisation and flow of work. For one person to stand up and say "listen, not only pay parity, I beat the boys and the girls and how much I make that is a lot of hard work," she added. Smriti Irani, who is playing the lead role of Tulsi Virani in Kyonki, further underlined that she is capable of making stars out of others who are working with her. She said, 'The idea is, are you truly the star or do you have the professional capacity to make stars around you? I think that I have actually, mercifully, had the capacity of making stars out of others who are with me. If there is a Tulsi, then Amar Upadhyay quintessentially creates his own market. So do you become that pivot, that sounding board, that other actors then can enhance their economic value? That I have managed to do through the project, so my co-stars today can say, 'Oh, we are a part of that.'' Smriti Irani beats contemporaries Rupaly Ganguly, Dilip Joshi and Hina Khan For the unversed, Smriti Irani has surpassed Rupali Ganguly, Dilip Joshi, and Hina Khan's remunerations to emerge as the highest paid actor on the small screen. While Ganguly charges around Rs 3 lakh per episode for Anupama, Dilip Joshi and Hina Khan charge around Rs 1.5-2 lakh per episode. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Anupamaa Actress Nidhi Shah Approached For Bigg Boss 19
Last Updated: Anupamaa actress Nidhi Shah has reportedly been approached to participate in Bigg Boss 19, sparking curiosity among fans. Bigg Boss 19 is creating quite a buzz, and every update is making the audience go crazy. Now, another name has come up. As per a source close to the Bigg Boss 19 makers, News18 has learnt that Anupamaa actress Nidhi Shah has been approached for the show. If Nidhi agrees to the offer, this could be one of the most exciting additions to the contestant list. As per the source, 'Nidhi Shah has been approached by the makers, but it has not been confirmed if she has indeed agreed to do the show." Meanwhile, reportedly, former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actors Shailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh, and Jennifer Mistry have also been approached for Bigg Boss 19. Rapper Raftaar is also likely to join the show. Every year, several names surface on social media, and this year is no different. Since the announcement, many A-lister names have surfaced, adding to the excitement. According to the fan page Bigg Boss Taza Khabar, several television personalities and digital influencers are in talks for the season. Some of the names include Rati Pandey (Miley Jab Hum Tum), Hunar Hali, Apoorva Mukhija (aka The Rebel Kid), Mr Faisu, Dhanashree Verma, Sreeram Chandra, Meera Deosthale, and Bhavika Sharma. The makers of Salman Khan's controversial reality show unveiled the official trailer of the upcoming season on Thursday, promising entertainment like never before. Set against the dramatic backdrop of a Parliament-inspired Bigg Boss house, the promo reveals the theme of the show – Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar. For the first time in Bigg Boss history, housemates will have the authority to make decisions big and small, turning the house into a battleground of public sentiment, all with unfiltered consequences. 'Bigg Boss ka har season alag hota hai, lekin iss baar toh scene hi palat gaya hai. 'Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar' ka matlab hai power unke haath mein, aur jab power milti hai, toh asli chehre saamne aate hain. Is baar contestants ko apne decisions lene ka poora haq diya gaya hai, par har decision ke saath ek consequence bhi aata hai. Main hamesha kehta hoon, tameez se khelo, par yeh log tameez chhod ke drama le aate hain. This season, they'll try to run the house their way but, when things go out of control, you know who's coming back to set the record straight!" he said in the promo. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
