Expectations being sky high are nothing new for Caitlin Clark. She carried the weight of the world while with the Iowa Hawkeyes as fans across the globe tuned into her each night. That sentiment has only grown as she has taken the WNBA by storm.
After winning the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award, Clark is predicted to take the next step as the face of the league and continue her dominance. In CBS Sports' 2025 WNBA award predictions, Caitlin Clark took home the most predictions to capture the 2025 WNBA MVP.
Caitlin Clark took home two of the three votes while Napheesa Collier snagged the third one.
On the one hand, it's surprising that three-time MVP A'ja Wilson, the best player in the world, did not receive a single nod from our panel. On the other, Cynthia Cooper is the only player to ever repeat as MVP, and that was in the first two years of the league's existence.
History tells us that there's a good chance someone else will be the MVP. But who? Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is the betting favorite at +200, per Caesars, and received two votes, while Napheesa Collier, last season's runner-up got one. The youngster spent 37:17 minutes of action and was highly efficient from the field. The college champion shot 68.4% from the field, including a 71.4% shooting from deep. The next time the two teams will play against each other will be on July 3, which will be a two-game, back-to-back outing for both teams. Their third matchup will be on July 7. The Mercury will face the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday to conclude the Commissioner's Cup. The NFL's four-time Most Valuable Player spent months contemplating his future before deciding to sign a one-year deal with the Steelers. Advertisement Rodgers signed his contract on Saturday and in a picture posted by the team on social media, he had a black band on his wedding ring finger. The 41-year-old held a news conference on Tuesday after spending his first day training with the Steelers and one of the last questions was about the ring. "Yeah, it's a wedding ring," said Rodgers. Asked how long he's been married, he added: "It's been a couple of months." Rodgers was released after a disappointing second season with the New York Jets, becoming a free agent for the first time in his 20-year career. He had visited the Steelers and reportedly received an offer from the New York Giants, but in April, Rodgers said that he was "open to anything", including retirement.
