March Madness: Oklahoma vs. UConn odds, picks and predictions
The Sooners draw the 2-time defending national champions looking to do what no one has been able to do recently — send UConn home early.
Oklahoma lost 85-84 to the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC Tournament, but it covered as a 6.5-point underdog. That's been a theme for the Sooners lately, as they've rattled off 7 consecutive covers despite going just 3-3 straight up (SU) in the past 6 games. The Sooners are also just 4-8 SU in the past 12 games since Feb. 4, and 7-13 SU in 20 outings since ringing in the new year.
Oklahoma G Jeremiah Fears and F Jalon Moore were a nice two-headed monster in the regular season. Fears had 17.0 points per game (PPG) with 4.1 rebounds per game (RPG) and 4.1 steals per game, while Moore posted 16.0 PPG and 5.8 RPG, hitting 39.1% from behind the 3-point line.
UConn went 6-0 SU/ATS in the NCAA Tournament last season enroute to a second straight title. The Under was 6-0 in those games. In 2023, the Huskies were also 6-0 SU/ATS, while the Over was 4-2. UConn hasn't lost in the NCAA Tournament since March 17, 2023, at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, when it was ousted by the 12-seed New Mexico State Aggies 70-63.
As far as the total, the Over is 5-1-1 in the past 7 games for Oklahoma. For UConn, though, the Under has cashed in 5 in a row.
UConn freshman Liam McNeeley was a great addition this season, going for 14.5 PPG and 6.1 RPG, just behind G Solo Ball for the team lead with 14.6 PPG. F Alex Karaban was also right there with 14.4 PPG, while posting 5.2 RPG, 2.9 assists and 1.6 blocks per game.

UConn (-235) is a little on the pricey side, and you cannot bet that straight up. However, if you were to toss the 2-time defending national champs into a multi-leg parlay, that is certainly OK, especially with a boost.
PASS.
UCONN -5.5 (-110) is worth a look laying nearly 3 buckets.
While Oklahoma +5.5 (-110) have been pesky, this isn't likely a team to dethrone a dynasty. The Sooners have a dismal 7-13 SU record since the ball dropped to ring in 2025. Oklahoma is consistently ticking off covers, but UConn is also 12-0 SU/ATS in the past 12 NCAA Tournament games. Are you betting against that type of dominance?
UNDER 147.5 (-105) is the lean, but don't get too carried away.
The Under has connected in 5 straight games for UConn, and the total went low in all 6 NCAA Tournament games for the Huskies enroute to their second straight title last season.
For Oklahoma, the Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games, but we're banking on UConn's suffocating defense to shut things down.

Oklahoma Sooners true freshman running back impressing in fall camp
The Oklahoma Sooners made a big splash in the transfer portal with the addition of former Cal running back Jaydn Ott. Ott is expected to be the Sooners' feature back in 2025, but he's battling a sprained shoulder in training camp and has been limited. Sophomore running backs Xavier Robinson and Taylor Tatum have also been limited at times, which has opened the door for true freshman running back Tory Blaylock to get some first-team snaps. And Blaylock has taken advantage of his opportunities. Nothing's set in stone when it comes to the running back rotation, but the former four-star running back has given the coaching staff a lot to think about in the first couple of weeks of fall camp. Blaylock has impressed his head coach. Speaking to reporters after practice on Friday, Venables heaped praise on the young running back (via John Hoover media). "His physical maturity, his explosiveness, his durability. He's taken a lot of snaps," Venables said. "Tory Blaylock has been as impressive as a freshman as I've been around. We'll see what the season brings, but he's been fantastic." Blaylock was a star at Atascocita High School in Texas, showing off blazing speed and contact balance to finish as the No. 17 running back in the 2025 recruiting class. He helped set records in the 4X100 relay and ran a 10.62 100-year dash as a junior. Though he has elite speed, Blaylock's gotten bigger in his short time with the Sooners in order to hold up to the rigors of carrying the football at the SEC level. He's done all the right things to work his way into the lineup this season. With the 2025 season right around the corner, the Sooners will be forced to find opportunities for Blaylock in the offense. He's a big-play threat waiting to happen. As Oklahoma looks to rebound on offense, Blaylock's big-play ability is something the Sooners will want to get on the field. 'You wish you were Georgia Tech.' Atlanta radio host roasts Auburn, Eric Singleton
Losing your team's leading receiver from the last two seasons to the transfer portal will make any fan base salty. So it is easy to see why Georgia Tech fans, or media members covering the program, would question Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton's decision to transfer away from Georgia Tech after recording 1,468 receiving yards and nine touchdowns over the last two seasons on the Flats. One Atlanta radio show host expressed his confusion about the move on Friday morning, and even took the opportunity to blast Auburn's program. John Michaels, co-host of The Locker Room on 680 the Fan in Atlanta, believes that Auburn's football program is inferior to Georgia Tech's at the moment, and does not understand why Singleton would bolt to the Plains. "Georgia Tech is better than Auburn right now. Auburn fans, you can yell at me all you want; you wish you were Georgia Tech right now. You wish you had Haynes King and Jamal Haynes and some of the other guys," Michaels said Friday. "Auburn could potentially be good, but they are banking on a quarterback in Jackson Arnold, who wasn't very good at Oklahoma, transferring there, and Eric Singleton. I don't get that transfer. I never got that transfer." Singleton was a multi-level threat at Georgia Tech. Outside of hauling in over 1,450 receiving yards, he also logged 241 return yards as a sophomore. His speed and athleticism will be hard to replace at Georgia Tech, but he will be welcomed at Auburn as the Tigers look to take a step forward under year three of the Hugh Freeze era. Singleton will not only mesh with Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, Horatio Fields, and Malcolm Simmons in the wide receiver room, but he will stand alongside Tulane transfer Rayshawn Pleasant in the return game to give Auburn a speed advantage. The season has yet to begin, but expect the concept of "Georgia Tech is better than Auburn" to be examined as the season plays out. Azzi Fudd Says She and Girlfriend Paige Bueckers Had ‘Chemistry' Together ‘Almost Kind of Immediately'
The couple, who were teammates together at UConn, explained how they first met during an appearance on Instagram's 'Close Friends Only' podcast NEED TO KNOW Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers appeared on Instagram's Close Friends Only podcast The couple — who are former UConn teammates — opened up about their relationship and how they met Bueckers now plays for the WNBA's Dallas Wings, while Fudd is a senior at UConn Azzi Fudd knew her chemistry with Paige Bueckers was special from the start. The two former University of Connecticut women's basketball teammates, who went public with their relationship earlier this year, appeared together on Instagram's Close Friends Only podcast this week and opened up about the first time they met while still in high school. 'When did you know that we were gonna click and, like, be this close?' Bueckers, 23, asked her girlfriend Fudd, 22, during the podcast's introduction. 'Almost kind of immediately,' Fudd replied. 'I feel like we really clicked when we met.' Bueckers, who graduated from UConn earlier this year and now plays for the WNBA's Dallas Wings franchise, laughed and said they both 'have different stories' about the day they met. Fudd, who is now a senior at UConn, said that the couple first met on the court while playing at a USA Basketball camp while they were both still in high school, before each later committed to UConn. 'On the court, we clicked,' Fudd said, as Bueckers locked eyes with her and smiled. Fudd continued, 'I don't remember talking to you at all off the court, but I remember the plane ride home to Minnesota talking to you and really liking you and then that's when I thought, like, our personality off the court, our personalities clicked.' As for Bueckers, she recalled, "We had this on-court chemistry, and you don't remember me off the court, which is like—," before jokingly making a confused face, prompting Fudd to laugh. Bueckers and Fudd's chemistry was front and center throughout their Close Friends Only episode. Elsewhere on the Instagram show, Fudd called Bueckers her 'favorite WNBA player' and explained what she admired most about the WNBA rookie off the court. 'You're super giving and I like how you always make sure to put others first,' Fudd said. 'I love how you take care of people around you and those who matter most to you. You're super loyal.' Later, Bueckers explained what her ideal day off with Fudd is like.
