Middle East Energy 2025 opens tomorrow in Dubai with The Battery Show making its debut at the global industry event

Dubai, UAE – Middle East Energy (MEE) 2025 opens tomorrow at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), ushering in the largest and most ambitious edition in the event's 49-year history. Held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, this year's show will run until April 9 and feature the debut of The Battery Show Middle East.
More than 40,000 global energy professionals, including more than 500 key buyers, will descend on DWTC to explore the innovations of 1,600 exhibitors from more than 90 countries. Sixteen halls, including 17 international pavilions, will be packed with solutions spanning the full energy value chain from power generation and storage to clean mobility and smart grid technologies.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al-Tayer, Vice Chairman Dubai Supreme Council of Energy will open the show, which runs for three days, and will lead the high-level plenary of the Middle East Energy Leadership Summit.

Among Middle East Energy's most anticipated additions for 2025 is the debut of The Battery Show Middle East – the regional edition of one of the world's leading platforms for battery technology and electric mobility. Spanning an entire exhibition hall, the show will host more than 200 exhibitors and feature the inaugural Battery Show Conference. The conference will explore critical issues such as energy storage, electric vehicle infrastructure, supply chain challenges, and smart grid integration for the Middle East and Africa battery market, which is forecast to reach US $9.98 billion by 2029, driven by robust policy shifts, renewable energy integration, and increasing reginal demand for electrification.
Complementing the Battery Show Conference, the wider Middle East Energy programme brings together more than 150 thought leaders across a further five conferences: the Middle East Energy Leadership Summit, Technical Seminar powered by IEEE, Intersolar & ees Middle East Conference, Global Innovation Forum, and the Africa Business Leaders Forum.

UAE showcases its efforts in driving energy transition during G20 meetings in South Africa
The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the third meeting of the G20 Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG), held in the Republic of South Africa. This comes as part of the UAE's global efforts to support the energy transition, implement the outcomes of the historic UAE Consensus from COP28, and reinforce the country's commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. During the meetings, the Ministry highlighted the UAE's key achievements in accelerating the energy sector transition, enhancing energy efficiency, and developing a balanced mix of energy sources, all contributing to energy security and sustainable development. The Ministry also took part in a joint side session between the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) under the theme 'Nuclear Energy for Africa.' The session shed light on the UAE's pioneering experience in developing a safe and peaceful nuclear energy program, positioning it as a model for supporting developing countries and enabling equitable energy transition pathways. Dubai's 1270 EV charging points enhance its leadership in sustainable mobility
3 Aug 2025 19:35 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has revealed that Dubai now has a network of over 1,270 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the emirate. This includes charging points provided by DEWA in collaboration with its partners from both the public and private Tayer affirmed that DEWA continues to advance green mobility and support Dubai's plans to transition to environmentally friendly transport, in line with national efforts to increase the share of electric and hybrid vehicles to 50% of all vehicles on UAE roads by 2050.'In line with the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai a global model for smart urban development by advancing green mobility, we launched the EV Green Charger initiative in 2014, the region's first public charging infrastructure network for electric vehicles. We continue this pioneering approach by providing innovative digital services for EV charging and encouraging private sector investment in Dubai's green mobility infrastructure through the launch of a comprehensive licensing system for the development and operation of EV charging infrastructure across the emirate. This is especially relevant as the number of EVs in Dubai reached over 40,600 by the end of the first half of 2025. This supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050,' said Al Tayer. Regulatory Framework for EV Charging Point Operators The Regulatory Framework for EV Charging Infrastructure in Dubai and Licensing of Independent Charge Point Operators, developed by DEWA, addresses current and future requirements, ensuring that Dubai remains at the forefront of green mobility framework includes two tracks, as Dubai is witnessing both the direct development of public charging infrastructure by DEWA and its subsidiaries, and infrastructure development by independent charging point operators licensed by DEWA. Expanding Network of EV Charging Stations DEWA's EV Green Charger network includes ultra-fast, fast, public, and wall-box chargers. To further expand this infrastructure, DEWA signed an agreement with Parkin to install charging stations in prime locations managed by Parkin, enhancing the user customers, including unregistered users, can utilise EV charging through the guest mode feature. Customers can also locate stations via DEWA's smart app, official website and 14 other digital platforms. Additionally, DEWA launched the 'Dubai EV Community Hub' website ( to promote EV adoption and serve as a central source of information on the local EV ecosystem.
