Thursday Murder Club trailer offers first look at David Tennant's character

The first full-length trailer for The Thursday Murder Club film has offered a first look at the characters portrayed by David Tennant and Jonathan Pryce.
The adaptation, based on the book series by game show host and author Richard Osman, follows a crime-busting group of retirees, played by: Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren; former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan; Calendar Girls actress Celia Imrie; and Gandhi star, Ben Kingsley.

Director Chris Columbus confirmed in an interview with entertainment news website Collider in April that Doctor Who star Tennant, 54, would play Ian, the owner of Coopers Chase retirement village, where the four retirees live, with Olivier-winning actor Pryce, 78, starring as Stephen, the husband of Dame Helen's character, Elizabeth.
The trailer, which follows the release of a teaser in May, features a clip of Tennant with slicked back hair and a Dolce and Gabbana T-shirt looking angry.
In another clip, his character says: 'I'm not worried about the cantankerous old farts.'
Meanwhile, Pryce is shown wearing a brown cardigan, blue shirt and glasses in his role as Elizabeth's husband, who suffers from dementia in the book.

Among the other cast members are: Saltburn star Richard E Grant; Miranda's Tom Ellis; Mickey 17 actress Naomi Ackie; Line Of Duty star Daniel Mays; and Indian Summers actor, Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

The trailer also shows Elizabeth, Ibrahim (Kingsley) and Ron (Brosnan), introducing themselves as the Thursday Murder Club to Imrie's character, Joyce, an ex-nurse who becomes the latest member of the group.
Ackie, who plays a police constable, is seen investigating, as is May's character, who says: 'Police work is off-limits to anyone who isn't the police.'
Elsewhere, Elizabeth receives a bouquet of flowers telling her to 'back off', and she is later seen bumping into a mysterious figure in the dead of night who tells her not to 'wake the dead.'

Harry Potter director Columbus said: 'This is the finest cast I've worked with since Potter.
'They're just so incredibly well-prepared, and it's because they do everything. They do theatre, they do television, they do film, and they've developed those sorts of muscles.'
Osman has written four Thursday Murder Club books with a fifth, The Impossible Fortune, set for publication in September.
The TV star, 54, who became a household name on Pointless, left the hit TV quiz show in 2022 to concentrate on writing, having co-hosted alongside Alexander Armstrong since its debut in 2009.

Princess Andre hits back at feud claims after her mum Katie Price said she was 'upset' not to appear in her new ITV series and insists: 'This is MY show'

Princess Andre has hit back at claims she's embroiled in a family feud with her famous mother Katie Price. Just days before the launch of the TikTok star's new ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries, the former glamour model said she was 'upset' after alleging she was banned from filming scenes for the series, which follows a string of recent events, including her daughter's 18th birthday party, where Katie says she was also not welcome. But speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, Princess explained any fallout from Katie's outburst at not being involved in her TV debut will be dealt with behind closed doors, as she insisted: 'It's my show, it's not based on my parents, it's focused on me. To be honest there's no rift between me and either of my parents.' Viewers will see Princess celebrate turning 18 on her show and although Katie wasn't at the party, thrown by her father, singer Peter Andre, 52, the teen stands firm that her mother was never banned from attending. She said: 'What I would usually do, as I've done my whole life, would be to spend the morning with one parent and the evening with the other. 'As it happened, mum ended up being away, and dad had already decided to throw me a last minute birthday party, which we filmed for the show. 'But anyhow, it would be weird if both parents were in the same room, as I'm sure a lot of people out there with divorced parents can relate to.' Katie expressed her frustrations at being 'disrespected' and 'disregarded', saying she longed to be by her daughter's side as she follows in the footsteps of her famous reality TV parents and bids to take over their crown. Princess's response to recent unwanted attention, sparked by her mother's latest podcast in which she also criticised her daughter's career being controlled by Peter's management who she believes see her as 'trash', shows just what a tough cookie she really is. Don't let those piercing blue eyes and Barbie-like features fool you, she's no soft touch, and like her mother, Princess hopes to have a long-lasting career in the industry. She said: 'A lot of people have made assumptions about me so I want the show to be something people can watch and say, maybe I was wrong. I want people to enjoy it and know me for me and if they don't like it, they don't like it, if they do, then great.' The influencer credits her lifetime in the spotlight for giving her such a thick skin, which she's certainly needed – as trolls don't even let up for innocent teenagers. She explained: 'I do have a thick skin, I would say so. If you're putting yourself out there you're going to get good, bad, and sometimes horrible comments. 'But I feel like you have to expect negativity, as sad as it is, I have to accept that some people aren't going to like me, people are going to make rude comments but I have to move past it. Katie expressed her frustrations at being 'disrespected' and said she longed to be by her daughter's side as she follows in the footsteps of her famous reality TV parents Princess told the Daily Mail: 'It's my show, it's not based on my parents, it's focused on me' (Princess pictured with her stepmother Emily, brother Junior, and father Peter in 2024) 'I definitely feel that I'm a lot more mature than other people my age, when I'm around some other 18-year-olds, I feel way more mature than them. 'But I'm still young, I'm not like a 25-year-old who is completely mature obviously. I do feel mature though and having the show is a big step for me.' Accompanying Princess in her interview isn't her father, singer Peter, but older brother Junior, 20, who is fiercely protective. When asked about their mother's recent accusations, Junior stepped up, and did his best to dispel speculation of ongoing tensions in the family. He said: 'To be honest, I don't understand this obsession with it. It's actually nothing to do with us, for people to try and make an issue between their kids and their parents, it's weird.' The siblings were just toddlers when their parents' reality series Katie & Peter attracted huge ratings in the Noughties and spawned endless copycat shows. Junior, too, has endured plenty of heat online, but just like his sister has learned to deal with it – because he claims the pair have had no choice to be anything other than in the limelight. He explained: 'There are so many horrible things people say, including death threats. 'We were born into this, we never had a choice, if we wanted to get out of this life, I don't think we really could. Maybe if we went to an island that no one knows about and disappeared. 'But we can't get away from it. Because our parents are so big in the limelight, we are their children, it's constantly with us. Not that I'm saying we aren't grateful for everything because we really are.' Despite being born into fame and already following the influence of his famous father by releasing music, Junior insists he is unfazed by the term 'nepo baby,' adding: 'I honestly couldn't care less. I know I wouldn't get anywhere if I couldn't prove myself, the same for Princess.' Since their parents split when Junior was aged four and Princess was two, Peter has gone onto marry doctor Emily MacDonagh, 35, and the couple share children Amelia, Theo, and Arabella. Katie, meanwhile, has enjoyed a more, let's say, 'colourful' love life since her divorce from the singer, who she famously fell for on the 2004 series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! The model, formerly known as Jordan, has been married on two more occasions, to former cage fighter Alex Reid between 2011 and 2012 and Kieran Hayler for five years, with whom she shares her youngest children, Jett and Bunny. She is currently in a relationship with former Married At First Sight UK contestant JJ Slater and they have been together for over 18 months. So, what has it been like living with such a blended family headed by parents who, and this is no secret, no longer speak? Princess said: 'I cannot imagine them together if I'm honest. 'I like going between both places. I have the best of both worlds. I had two Christmases, two birthdays. Two of everything!' Junior chimed in: 'We have beautiful brothers and sisters from my mum and from my dad. I wouldn't change it and I can't remember it being any different, I was four-years-old and Princess was two.' His sister added: 'We're both one of eight!' And what's the one big takeaway both Peter and Katie have taught them following over 20 years in the industry? 'Our parents have always taught us to be good to people, not to let bad comments get you down, obviously don't be cocky, be grounded and always smile,' Princess explained. Asked how close they are to their step-siblings, which include Katie's first child, Harvey Price, she continued: 'So close, we're so close to our mum and our dad, we are very family orientated, we are family people.' Junior added: 'As we grow older, we are forming even closer bonds with our family.' Peter and Katie both feature in The Princess Diaries, but Peter is far more present, something the ex-Loose Woman has also voiced her disapproval over. According to Katie, she only appears via dated and reused YouTube clips while claiming that Princess has lived with her father for the past two months as the series was being filmed. But Princess confirmed: 'To be honest, I have been living between both parents' houses for a few years now.' As Princess says, this is her show... so what can viewers expect? The glossy format is shot in a TikTok style, a platform where Princess has already amassed a large following. She talks about subjects including her insecurities, body image, make-up and boys, and promises to touch on issues you wouldn't necessarily associate with her. Princess, who says she would have been a 'beautician' if she wasn't famous, added: 'I am so excited, I honestly can't wait. Honestly, I am nervous because it's my first show and I want it to do amazing so there are nerves that people aren't going to like it. I am over the moon though. 'I have always wanted to do this. I feel like people are going to see me for me. 'They're going to see my vulnerable side, my awkward side, my happy side, my funny side, my entire personality.' The Princess Diaries, which is a four-part series, is available to watch on ITV from 9pm on Sunday evening and viewers can stream the whole season via ITVX.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock sizzles in racy bikini top and hot pants as she storms the stage at Boardmasters Festival

Leigh-Anne Pinnock sent temperatures soaring as she delivered a show-stopping performance at Boardmasters Festival on Friday. The former Little Mix star, 32, commanded the stage in a daring red, green and black bikini-style top teamed with a fringed black mini skirt layered over tie-dye yellow hot pants. The singer, who is carving out a sizzling solo career, completed the eye-popping look with fingerless green gloves, bright red Puma trainers and strands of ribbon flowing from her outfit in the colours of the Jamaican flag. Clutching a bold red microphone, she strutted and danced energetically across the stage, whipping up the crowd with her fierce moves and commanding stage presence. With her trademark curly hair tumbling freely over her shoulders, Leigh-Anne oozed confidence as she struck powerful poses mid-song, keeping the audience captivated from start to finish. The OMG hitmaker has been gearing up to release brand-new music, after she revealed she had left record label Warner Music Group. Leigh-Anne signed with Warner as a solo artist in 2022 and released her EP, No Hard Feelings, the following year. But her solo career stalled after Warner 'wouldn't pay for a music video' for her last single after she reportedly 'failed to impress' with her other tracks. More than a year later, Leigh-Anne revealed she was returning to music this summer - but had gone independent. Posting on her TikTok, Leigh-Anne said: 'It's been a bit of a weird time, going through some stuff with my current label. It's a whole thing. 'I couldn't really say anything as well, so it seemed a bit "Where's Leigh-Anne? Where's the music? What's going on?" And I felt I couldn't really explain what was actually happening.' She explained: 'Obviously I left my label and I'm now with Virgin. I'm fully independent guys eek! Like honestly, it's been the most amazing thing foor me, I think, I feel like it needed to happen to be honest. 'You think I've been in this industry for how long now? What's the point doing it if I'm not doing it my way? It just doesn't make sense, so that's all positive now and I feel really excited and really good.' It comes after the singer looked every inch of the doting mum as she posed for a very sweet family photoshoot with husband Andre Gray and their two twins daughters. The singer posted a carousel of Instagram snaps during their lavish holiday, covering her daughters' faces with a green heart emoji. The family were captured looking joyful as the little ones, three, were playing around in the stunning park. Leigh-Anne and the footballer, also 33, couldn't keep their hands off one another as they put on a smitten display in one snap. The proud parents were then snapped holding hands with each one of the twin and giving them a gentle look. 'Did one of those cheesy family photoshoots on our hols girls of course loved every second,' she captioned her latest post.

Emmerdale star looks completely unrecognisable 18 months after quitting the soap - but can YOU guess who it is?

A former Emmerdale star looked completely unrecognisable as he returned to Instagram on Thursday, sharing a slew of selfies with his followers. The actor, 19, who starred in the ITV soap for 17 years, quit the show 18 months ago in a dramatic New Year's storyline that saw his character brutally killed off. Now, he looks worlds away from his soap days - having ditched his long blonde locks and hit the gym hard. In one snap, the star went shirtless for a close-up selfie, showing off a brand-new cropped hairdo. In another, he flaunted his gym transformation with a mirror selfie taken after a gruelling workout session. But do you recognise him? That's right, it's Sebastian Dowling! The actor is best known for playing Heath Hope on Emmerdale from 2007 until his emotional exit, when his character died in a car crash that aired last year. Sebastian appeared on the soap alongside his twin sister Gabrielle Dowling, 18, who continues to play Heath's twin, Cathy Hope. The new Instagram post marks the first time the former soap star has shared an update on the platform since October last year - and fans were stunned by his transformation. One follower wrote: 'Wow guy. All grown up and looking great. Still miss you on the show. Let us know what you up to now.'; While another added: 'Holy c***, mans become Hulk! Looking great bro.' 'Now this is what a 'glow up' looks like.'; 'Wow you look awesome there Seb. Nice one there mate!' Sebastian's final scenes aired on January 1 last year, when Heath was killed in a tragic car crash involving several village teens, including his sister Cathy. At first, Cathy was thought to be behind the wheel, but it was later revealed that it was actually her friend Angelica King (played by Rebecca Bakes) who had been driving. Angelica was charged with death by dangerous driving and handed an eight-month custodial sentence in a secure children's home. She also exited the soap as part of the storyline, although there's a chance she could return to the village once her sentence is served.
