Cats can be such weird little creatures. Between chasing imaginary shadows, making the bizarre "eck-eck-eck" sound at the squirrels outside, and falling asleep in the bathroom sink, if you're a cat parent, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. One pet parent who probably knows what I mean is the one who cares for the hysterical Orange Cat in the clip below, who decides to "squabble up" to its new mortal enemy in the house.
Which is a dish towel with a picture of an Orange Cat on it.
This Orange Cat has decided there can only be two orange kitties per household, and this other orange feline, even though it's just a dish towel with a picture of the "third" orange kitty on it, does not belong. He ain't having it.I'm a cat mama to two orange kitties and both of them are just as unhinged as the one beefing with the dish towel above. Orange cats always gotta be doing the most about everything.
If you're a fan of these types of cats, here's another clip of these two sweeties doing another Orange Cat practice: sleeping and cuddling in a cardboard box.
And if you'd like to see a video of them wrestling, which took a very NSFW (not safe for work) turn, well, don't say I didn't warn you.
That's some pretty extreme Orange Cat behavior.
Even though a lot of us parents of orange kitties truly believe that these cats are more unhinged than other types of felines, the website Kinship claims there is no truth to this and says, "Orange Cat behavior' is the idea that Orange Cats are more social and playful than cats of other colors. There is no scientific evidence that Orange Cats behave differently than other cats. Factors such as breed and environment have a larger impact on a cat's behavior than coat color. Because of genetics, Orange Cats are more likely to be male than female."
Don't try telling that to the Orange kitty above, though!

Beauty Editor Shirley Lord Reflects on 60 Years of Friendship with Leonard Lauder

Vogue Contributing Editor Shirley Lord has been a beauty editor and author for almost eight decades, beginning her career on Fleet Street at 17 years old. She was the Beauty Director of American Vogue for 16 years and was close with Leonard Lauder for over half a century. Following his death on June 15th, she wrote a reminiscence for Vogue. I first met Leonard Lauder and his vivacious, adorable wife, Evelyn, in my London home—was it fifty, sixty years ago? Not sure of the date, but certain, as Beauty Director of British Harper's Bazaar and a columnist for London's newspaper, The Evening Standard, none of us dreamed I would cross the pond and eventually become Beauty Director of American Vogue and an American citizen! That evening, so long ago, my two sons were young, and Leonard especially was thrilled they bounced into the sitting room, upsetting the hors d'oeuvres and having a mock (or was it so mock) fight together. 'Just like our kids back home,' he said warmly, relaxing even more into the sofa. Leonard was very much a family man, and that very much included being a model son to his parents, Joe and Estée Lauder. In fact, at the time Joe and Estée had separated, but Joe having heard that little Leonard was battling an infection, had dropped by to visit—and never went home! I didn't comprehend, along with the majority of Lauder fans, that right from the beginning of the Lauder empire, the decision was made between mother and son, that Leonard would run the company completely, building the Estée Lauder name while his mother would represent it. He told me once that he had to make it clear to his mother that all business decisions had to be his and there could never be any discussion or certainly any disagreement about it. Leonard introduced brilliant marketing ideas that we take for granted today: 'gift with purchase,' special packaging for Christmas, Easter, spring and summer, seasonal makeup. I remember a cross phone call from Leonard after l'd had lunch with his mother: 'Please don't give my mother any ideas for products! That can throw our year's budget totally in turmoil.' I didn't realize then that for every product, the budget included the cost of the electric light used in the factory to make it. Estée and I became very close, but I never dared to come close to any product suggestions again. Over the years, Leonard came into the Vogue office a few times to talk about the business of cosmetics—not just to the beauty department, but to the whole staff and he asked as many questions as he answered—about how we operated and gathered information. As the Vogue staff concurred, he was so approachable, warm and witty, we all wished he could be our boss or at least one of them!

James Gunn Says Wonder Woman Is Easier to Reboot Than Batman and Explains Why — GeekTyrant

With Superman heading to theaters this July and DC Studios finally laying the foundation for a new cinematic universe, James Gunn is looking ahead to the rest of the DC Trinity. While both Batman and Wonder Woman are on the docket for new solo films in the DCU, Gunn recently explained why rebooting one of them is a lot less complicated than the other. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn was asked how development was coming along on DC's new iterations of its most iconic heroes. 'Batman is incredibly important to DC, as is Wonder Woman. So outside of the stuff that I'm doing in the projects that are actively going, our two priorities are finishing our Wonder Woman and our Batman scripts.' The new Batman film, The Brave and the Bold , was announced back in early 2023 and will introduce a new Caped Crusader alongside Damian Wayne. Wonder Woman's return, on the other hand, wasn't officially confirmed until this month, though behind the scenes, work has already begun. When asked about the challenges of reinventing these legacy characters, Gunn said: 'Wonder Woman I think is actually easier for me, because there haven't been so many infinite portrayals of Wonder Woman — definitely not in movies, but really anywhere — that there have been of Batman. Every single Batman story has been told.' Between Bale, Affleck, Pattinson, and countless animated takes, Batman's mythos has been explored from nearly every angle. Wonder Woman, by contrast, has had far fewer live-action iterations. While Gal Gadot's version made a big impact, especially with the first Wonder Woman film in 2017, the character's cinematic journey was comparatively short. A third installment was in development before being shelved once Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios. Though details are still under wraps, a screenwriter is actively working on the Wonder Woman reboot, Gunn just isn't ready to reveal who it is. Meanwhile, DC is also developing a Game of Thrones -style series set on Themyscira, exploring the Amazonian island's history before Diana's birth. Gunn previously teased it as a political drama steeped in intrigue and internal conflict. For now, both the untitled Wonder Woman reboot and The Brave and the Bold remain undated. But it's clear that Gunn sees fresh opportunities in bringing Diana Prince back to the big screen, and it will be interesting to see how it comes together.
