2026 5-star CB predicted to land with Texas A&M over Oregon
Texas A&M is on the precipice of landing one of the top athletes in the 2026 recruiting class, as five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington is set to make his decision between Oregon and the Aggies on Thursday morning/afternoon. Texas A&M has been the frontrunner for quite some time, but things have gotten interesting over the past month.
After official visits to USC, Alabama, and Oregon, Texas A&M defensive back coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson have worked overtime to sell the program's vision, feeling that Arrington is on the path to becoming a star cornerback over the next four years, and is a perfect fit in the SEC due to his versatility as a standout receiver on offense.
On Tuesday, Arrington spoke to On3's Josh Newberg about his upcoming decision, noting that both coaching staffs have a plan in place focused on developing his star potential. However, according to On3 Oregon reporter Justin Hopkins, the Aggies are still the favorites to land Arrington's commitment on Thursday. Again, credit to Coach Mike Elko, Aristide, and Peterson for laying the groundwork early, which should pay off in less than 24 hours.
Arrington showed off his skills in ten games during his 2024 junior season. Arrington recorded 26 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception while reeling in 57 receptions for 527 yards and five touchdowns on offense.
According to On3, Arrington is currently the 9th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked athlete, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in California. Arrington will announce his commitment on July 5.

Texas A&M Football Preview 2025: Aggies Season Prediction, Win Total Projection, Top Players

Texas A&M Aggies Key to the Season Let the offensive line take this isn't the best front five in college football, it won't be too far off. It's loaded with experience and NFL talent, and it should be able to take over games. A&M was great at controlling the clock, and Marcel Reed got plenty of time to cook - both will happen Aggies were 6-0 when running for over 170 yards, 2-5 when they didn't. They're about to bash away. Texas A&M Aggies Key Player TJ Searcy, EDGE Dayon Hayes. The Aggies not only have to replace a bulk of the pass rushers from last year, but they also need more production. Washington transfer Jordan Shaw can play corner, but he's a better fit as a freelancing safety who can go attack the is a 260-pound four-year producer for Rutgers, who made 164 tackles with 2.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss. Searcy has a world of upside after making 60 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and eight tackles for loss in two years at Florida. 2025 Texas A&M PreviewTexas A&M Offense BreakdownTexas A&M Defense Breakdown Texas A&M Aggies Top Transfer, Biggest Transfer Loss Top Transfer In: KC Concepcion, WR Aggies needed a star receiver, and they got the guy who might be the best in the portal. He can play anywhere, but he'll stick in the slot where he'll also be used as a runner. A monster at NC State with 18 total touchdowns in two years, he's a special Transfer Out: Conner Weigman, QB Reed is the starter, and the Aggies have a few nice backups, but it would've been wonderful to still have a 6-3, 220-pound passer with Weigman's skills still around. He'll be great for Houston now. Jalen Ramsey spotted at UCLA — fueling Steelers trade rumors due to DK Metcalf connection

Jalen Ramsey spotted at UCLA — fueling Steelers trade rumors due to DK Metcalf connection Jalen Ramsey has been working out at the same place as Steelers WR DK Metcalf #noticing — Polymarket Football (@PolymarketBlitz) June 19, 2025 Jalen Ramsey's UCLA training pic has gone viral after weeks of Steelers trade rumors and speculation. UCLA Football posted several pictures of Ramsey's training session, which sent social media pages into a frenzy. Polymarket Football quickly speculated that the workout could be connected to DK Metcalf, as the Steelers wide receiver had his famous throwing session with Aaron Rodgers there. Back in April, insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Dolphins and Ramsey had mutually agreed to seek trade options. Over the past several weeks, Ramsey has been connected to both the Rams and Steelers as potential landing spots for the three-time All-Pro corner — while HC Sean McVay claimed "obstacles" may prevent Los Angeles from acquiring him. Steelers fans should take the now-viral UCLA workout speculation with a grain of salt, as Ramsey's choice of training facility being similar to that of Rodgers and Metcalf is likely coincidence — but it definitely adds more fuel to the rumored Pittsburgh trade narrative this offseason.
