Police recovered Rs 40,200 and a mobile phone used in the crime from accused Uzma Malik. Nimish Patil, DCP Trans-Hindon, said that on July 27, a written complaint by Shahnavaz, a resident of Rajendra Nagar's Sector 2, stated that the accused blackmailed the complainant's brother, Aqib, through a honeytrap on Instagram, demanding Rs 10 lakh by threatening to frame him in a false rape case. "A case was registered under Section 308(5) (extortion) BNS in Shalimar Garden police station. On July 28, based on an informant's tip-off, the accused was arrested near Khetan Sports Complex in Shalimar Garden. The case was updated to include Section 317(2) (dishonestly receiving stolen property) BNS," he said.
