Florida Republican foresees Trump-Musk reconciliation
Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-Fla.) said President Trump and Elon Musk's feud wouldn't last for long, noting that the Republican Party and the president's allies are all a part of 'one big family.' Musk in recent days has criticized the president's budget bill over its effects on the national debt, which the tech billionaire says 'undermines' the work he completed at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The fight reached a fever pitch this week, with the two exchanging harsh words on social media. But as the spat continues, Patronis said he believes the two will soon reconcile. 'I don't know how many times I've seen Donald Trump throw [Sen.] Lindsey Graham [(R-S.C.)] out by the side of the street and say the guy's crazy. But then you know what? The next week they're playing golf together. This is no different,' Patronis said during a Friday appearance on NewsNation's 'The Hill,' referencing the president's sometimes fraught relationship with the South Carolina lawmaker. 'Trump knows that sometimes you're going to have falling out with those that you trust, you like, that you're friends with. It happens with us in D.C. all the time. So again. Mark my words. About a month from now, these guys will be hanging around again,' he added. The Florida lawmaker also poured cold water on Musk's recent proposal to launch a third party to challenge. 'Elon Musk is not gonna create a new new political party,' he told NewsNation. On Friday, Musk floated 'The America Party' as a potential new political faction after posting a poll for his followers to weigh in on the social media platform X the day prior. 'I appreciate what Elon Musk has done with DOGE. He's brought things to light that we're going to act upon in Congress. But the end of the day, the only friends I look at making in Washington DC [are] probably my wife and my kids,' Patronis said. 'The friends I care about are the ones in Congressional District 1 … and they elected Donald Trump,' he added. 'They did not elect Elon Musk.'

1.7 million air conditioners recalled over reports of mold growth
(NewsNation) — About 1.7 million window air conditioning units have been recalled in the U.S. after 17 customers reported getting sick from fungal growth in the appliance. The Midea U and U+ window air conditioners may fail to drain quickly, causing mold growth that 'poses risks of respiratory issues or other infections to some consumers,' according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Nearly 46,000 units were also sold in Canada. There have been 152 reports of mold in the white AC units, including 17 reports of people saying exposure to the fungi made them cough, sneeze or have other allergic reactions. Units were sold under the brand names: The Midea air conditioners fit in windows and resonated with consumers because of their unique design, which allows consumers to close their windows 'through' the unit. The units were sold from March 2020 through May 2025 for $280 to $500 in-store and online at Costco, Menards, Best Buy, Home Depot and more. Customers who purchased the units can get a free repair or potentially a prorated refund by contacting Midea. Consumers who choose to use their air conditioners while awaiting a repair can go to to find out how to inspect their unit before continuing to use it. Columbus State Cougars making connections in South Korea
SEOUL, South Korea (WRBL) – While most Columbus State University students aren't in class this summer, some students and CSU President Dr. Stuart Rayfield are in South Korea. In this foreign exchange program they are learning about South Korean culture first CSU contingent is spending 10 days in South Korea. Dr. Rayfield went to South Korea to look for new academic and economic opportunities with a focus on the country's direct investment in Georgia. South Korea is one of the top five investors in the Peach State. June 6th is also Korean Memorial Day. It's a holiday dedicated to honor the soldiers and civilians that died in war, specifically the Korean War. Dr. Rayfield says this trip and holiday underlines the importance of the partnership between the U.S. and South Korea. 'It really puts a lot into perspective how important our relationship is with South Korea,' Dr. Rayfield said. 'It's not just a military connection or relationship. It's an economic relationship. It's a cultural relationship. So being here today specifically and earlier this week they had their SNAP election. Just really felt a sense of pride in the community and a sense of love of country.' This is Dr. Rayfield's first time to visit South Korea, and she plans to meet up with the CSU students in South Korea this weekend.
