Malovec, who is 6-8, played for Mega Superbet in the ABA League First Division in Serbia.

Liverpool have to sign SPECIAL £55m forward at all costs

As is the situation with most other clubs, Liverpool are in the market for a new striker. Finding the best deal, while managing the risks you're willing to take on players who might have more potential than a track-record to believe in, is going to be essential this summer. Advertisement It seems that Atletico Madrid are in no mood to consider a deal for Julian Alvarez, although Liverpool's trump card in Darwin Nunez might be enough to tempt them in potential negotiations. Alexander Isak at Newcastle, on the other hand, looks to be a definite no-go, now that the Magpies have secured a return to Champions League football. He's pretty much untouchable now. So that leaves us with Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko for £92m, Victor Osimhen at Napoli - currently loaned at Galatasaray - for £63m and Hugo Ekitike at Eintracht Frankfurt for around £80m, per the intel from Lyall Thomas at Sky Sports News, although there is a massive name left off that list. Viktor Gyokeres - the striker Liverpool NEED to sign Signing a striker this summer is paramount, and everyone knows we're one of the main clubs that are after a new talisman. Now that clubs are aware of the demand, all the prices have skyrocketed. Advertisement Arsenal are most interested in Sesko and from a personal standpoint, £92m is miles too high and asking price for the 22-year-old Slovakian, who has 27 goals in 64 Bundesliga appearances - a goal return like that in the Premier League would struggle to surpass the efforts Kai Havertz. Ekitike, on the other hand, is one of the Reds' highest priority targets, although Chelsea are interested in the 22-year-old Frenchman as well. The main problem with him, however, is that this has been his breakout season. Beyond his 22 goals and 12 assists in this campaign, he has a total of 32 goal contributions in his four other professional seasons combined. And then we have Osimhen, who was sent to Galatasaray on loan because his ego caused him all sorts of trouble at Napoli. The 26-year-old Nigerian has been prolific in front of goal, and his asking price is reasonable - the only qualm is his attitude. Liverpool purposefully ignore big personalities. So, in my opinion, the only realistic option is Viktor Gyokeres, and that is not to say that he is the least preferred. In fact, his situation is the opposite. He's the most tantalising option in Europe. At 26 years old, he is an experienced No. 9 who's only just approaching the prime years of his career. Advertisement This season alone, he has scored 52 goals and delivered 12 assists - a truly frightening amount. This follows a 48 goal contribution season in his first year at Sporting and across his two years spent playing for Coventry in the Championship he made 38 goals and 17 assists in 94 appearances. Of course, the fact that his explosion of form has come in Portugal is a concern, Liverpool's last endeavour in the country for Darwin Nunez didn't work out as many would have hoped. But given Gyokeres has experienced English football before, although obviously not the Premier League, it seems reasonable to suggest that he would his potential move would work out differently. His release clause of £55m makes him a bargain and there would be no difficulty with negotiations if sporting gave the green light for him to move. His asking price is set and it would guarantee him. Advertisement As such, 64 goal contributions in a season is too good to ignore in my mind, and his price tag would allow the Reds to fill the position while still having the freedom to spend money in other positions. His attitude is one of working incredibly hard and delivering whenever his team needs to rely on him and there is likely no one else like him who could offer you the guarantee of attacking returns. Imagine the scene, Cody Gakpo is running down the left, Mohamed Salah is being marked by half of the opposition's defenders and Florian Wirtz is putting endless through balls into his feet to finish off. Prolific goalscoring is what Liverpool fans are dreaming of from their striker. Gyokeres embodies that.

Dúbravka shortlisted for Premier League Save of the Season award

The Slovakian international's superb stop from close range denied Jorgen Stand Larsen in the Magpies' 3-0 win over Wolves in January, with the 36-year-old doing brilliantly to divert the forward's effort onto the crossbar with his left foot. Dúbravka's save was voted Save of the Month, and will now go up against the other monthly winners for the overall 2024/25 award. Advertisement Also in the running are David Raya of Arsenal, Kepa Arrizabalaga of Bournemouth and Manchester United's Andre Onana - who each have two nominations - as well as Chelsea's Robert Sanchez, Tottenham Hotspur's Guglielmo Vicario and Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez. "It is extra special because the whole preparation for the game pays off at that moment. You know that you did something right during the week," Dúbravka said of his save in January. "It's not just that save, but it's repetitions. You're constantly working during during the week on the opponent and you try to replicate it - and in a situation like this you're happy. "I tried to prepare myself for a tap-in, and just spread myself to try to react. Then Sven (Botman) tackled me at the same time! So I was happy that I could make the save, but at the same time I was sore because he smashed my hamstring from behind! Advertisement "But it was a special moment for me at the time - and to keep a clean sheet as well, it always counts. I didn't want to give anything to Wolves." Magpies fans can vote for Dúbravka by clicking here. Voting closes at 6pm BST on Friday, 30th May and the winner will be announced at 12pm BST on Saturday, 31st May.
