
Miss Earth Wales finalist lands dream job at Folly Farm
Abigail Wood, a Miss Earth Wales 2025 finalist, has joined the keepers at the attraction as a seasonal penguin keeper.
Ms Wood, from Tavernspite, has recently finished her Masters qualification in Environmental Biology: Conservation and Resource Management at Swansea University.
She said: "I am so grateful for the opportunity to work at Folly Farm whose foundations are conservation, sustainability, and community."

Ms Wood's advocacy "Wild About Nature" has seen her pen a children's book to aid knowledge and education of nature.
She said: "It is crucial that the upcoming generation recognises the implications of their actions on the surrounding ecosystems.
"Whether big or small, everyone must play a part in ensuring that the UK's rich wildlife thrives for countless years to come."

The Miss Earth Wales final is on May 25 in Barry and Ms Wood hopes to achieve success as she did in 2023 when she became the first Miss Eco Pageants UK.

They both addressed the swirling rumours during a joint interview for US publication Variety, which was published on Wednesday. Goggins said: "There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman (Aimee) madly, and she is so important to me." "I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram," Wood said.
