Ed Sheeran Slams Lip-Syncing Artists: 'They Do It But Will Never Admit It'

Ed Sheeran called out fellow musicians for lip-syncing on stage, saying 'they would never admit it.' He also shared why he can't get away with miming. Ed Sheeran says he always sings live and can't mime due to his loop pedal setup. Ed Sheeran has called out a common yet controversial practice in the music industry—lip-syncing during live performances. The Grammy-winning artist, who is currently touring Europe as part of his Mathematics Tour, recently made some candid revelations about fellow musicians who mime on stage but rarely own up to it. During a fun segment on a Beta Squad YouTube video, Sheeran was tasked with identifying voices of popular singers. While interacting with the participants, one contestant admitted that she would consider lip-syncing if her voice wasn't up to par. Ed responded, 'I don't know if a professional singer would admit to miming." Another contestant followed up, saying, 'I thought a lot of professional artists do that though?" To this, Ed Sheeran agreed but added, 'They don't admit to it though." When asked if he had ever lip-synced in his career, Sheeran clarified that he doesn't have that luxury due to his unique performance style. 'I can't get away with it because it's me with a loop pedal and a guitar," he said. 'But I would never cancel a show for my voice. I'd always push through, even if it was, like, slightly raspy." Sheeran doubled down on his point, stating, 'I feel like if you are a professional singer, even if you do mime—because there are professional singers that mime, but they would never admit that they mime." The Shape of You singer has long been praised for his no-frills, raw stage presence, often relying solely on his vocals, guitar, and loop pedal to entertain massive stadium crowds. His honesty about the behind-the-scenes practices of the industry has sparked fresh conversations about the authenticity of live performances. Currently, Ed Sheeran is continuing the European leg of his Mathematics Tour, which first kicked off in 2022. He is scheduled to perform next at Middenvijver Park in Antwerp, Belgium, on August 7. Akshay Kumar 'Dated' Raveena Tandon During Mohra? Rajiv Rai Says 'The News Came Out...'

Last Updated: Rajiv Rai clarified that during the actual shoot of Mohra, there were no signs of any off-screen romance. Rajiv Rai, the director behind cult classics like Tridev, Mohra and Gupt, has finally opened up about the long-standing buzz surrounding Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon's alleged relationship during the making of Mohra. In a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, Rajiv was asked if he had any idea about the romance between the two lead actors when they filmed the iconic songs Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast and Tip Tip Barsa Paani. In response, the filmmaker quipped, 'I wasn't sitting there with binoculars, was I?" When pressed further about whether he could pick up on their body language, Rajiv explained, 'There's no question about it… There are 100-200 people on set. Every actor has to be well-behaved. A heroine has to maintain her reputation. Don't you think she knows there are a thousand eyes watching her? So, to be very honest, I never saw anything. Whatever I later heard, I was pleasantly surprised like, is this really true?" He clarified that during the actual shoot of Mohra, there were no signs of any off-screen romance. 'It all came out later. People ask if it happened during Mohra, but it had nothing to do with the film," he added. In the 1990s, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were one of Bollywood's most talked-about couples and were even briefly engaged before parting ways. Raveena, in a separate chat with ANI, addressed how her past with Akshay still follows her. 'Once I had moved out of his life, I was already dating someone else, and he was already dating someone else, so kahan se jealousy ayegi?" She added, 'Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don't know why. Everyone moves on." Akshay Kumar is now married to Twinkle Khanna, while Raveena tied the knot with producer Anil Thadani in 2004. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Isha Koppikar recalls being humiliated by South choreographer in her debut film: 'These girls come from Bollywood, they don't know anything'

Before establishing herself in Bollywood with roles in films like Shah Rukh Khan's Don and Ram Gopal Varma's Company, Isha Koppikar faced a bruising start to her acting journey in the South film industry. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about being humiliated by a choreographer during her debut Telugu film W/o V. Vara Prasad (1997), where she had appeared in a song sequence. Sharing the incident, Isha told Digital Commentary, 'It happened in South. And it was just the beginning. I already had two films. So, it was before Bollywood. When I was on the set, there was a lot of dance. You know South dance. They're not easy.' The choreographer, she recalled, publicly shamed her on set in front of the entire unit, accusing her of being a clueless Bollywood import. 'He told me in front of everyone, 'These girls come from Bollywood. They don't know anything. I don't know why they take them... If you don't know dance, then why did you come here?'' 'I cried in my van... then I called Usha ji' Isha said she was devastated by the criticism. 'I felt very bad. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Most Beautiful Female Athletes Right Now Undo I felt humiliated. I went into my make-up van and I cried.' But instead of letting the moment defeat her, she turned it into a motivator. 'I took it as a challenge. I said next time when I come to the South, I will dance very well. I will not give anyone a chance to speak like this.' Remember 'Khallas' girl Isha Koppikar? Diva clicked at airport, asks paps 'Neend nahi aati?' Determined to improve, she reached out to Saroj Khan's assistant Usha ji. 'I told Usha ji, 'I want to learn dance. You come and teach me all the songs of Saroj ji.' She took out time and came to my house in Mahim and taught me daily.' Isha trained on classic Bollywood numbers like Taal Se Taal Mila and Mujhe Rang De, which she says covered all the major moves used in the industry. How Khallas changed the game Despite all the dance training, Isha notes that ironically, her breakthrough item number Khallas in Company didn't have too much choreography. 'If you look at it, there is not much dance in Khallas, but people felt that I know how to dance. Because I had gained confidence. A lot of confidence.' She credited Khallas director Ram Gopal Varma and choreographer Ganesh Acharya for giving her the confidence to shine. 'Ramu came to me and said, 'I have made this set for you. You should feel that this is your father's set. I want such an attitude.' So I said, 'Okay. If it is my father's, then I will bring the same attitude.' And then Khallas happened and magic happened.'
