Bengaluru rain: Officer-goers stuck as junctions inundated by overnight rain

Severe traffic congestion was reported in parts of the Central Business District (CBD), Hebbal Junction, Nagawara, Ballari Road, Koramangala, and Tavarekere. Traffic personnel deployed on the ground were seen clearing waterlogged stretches at several locations.
The Intermediate Ring Road in the southern part of the city, particularly near Koramangala, Old Madras Road (OMR) and St. John's Junction (connecting Sarjapur and Marathahalli roads), witnessed bottlenecks that disrupted vehicular movement in bylanes connecting these major roads.
According to data from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), eight trees were uprooted and at least 16 incidents of snapped branches were reported across the city. Clearance operations are currently underway.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or even thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of 30–40 kmph to persist in the city throughout the day.
