Shakira is left red-faced as she accidentally confirms Rihanna's pregnancy news during live slip up at the Met Gala
Shakira was left red-faced after she accidentally confirmed Rihanna 's pregnancy news before she arrived at the Met Gala on Monday evening.
The Umbrella hitmaker, 37, used the event to confirm her pregnancy as she showcased her growing baby bump in a pinstripe skirt with a clingy grey top, tie and cropped blazer.
However, Shakira let the cat out of the bag prior to the singer's arrival in a live slip up during an interview with NBC News.
Asked by who she was most looking forward to seeing at the event, Shakira gushed: 'I want to see Rihanna! I want to see her so bad. And I just heard the news too.'
Realising the interviewer wasn't clear what she was referring to, Shakira confirmed: 'She's pregnant!'
The star then immediately realised what she had done as she threw her hands to her face and exclaimed: 'Am I not supposed to say that?'

Left red-faced she awkwardly laughed before walking away down the carpet.
Earlier in the day Rihanna was seen rocking a clingy grey top and low-slung skirt that showcased her pregnant bump while stepping out at the Carlyle Hotel before the event.
It seems Shakira assumed these snaps meant Rihanna's news was already common knowledge and it wouldn't be as big a shock when she finally graced the red carpet as the last star at 10pm.
Rihanna is expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, who are already parents to sons RZA, who turns three next week, and Riot Rose, 21 months.
The singer's pregnancy news comes after she suggested she wanted a third child in December 2023 while speaking to E! News.
When asked if there's anything she is not capable of achieving, Rihanna said: 'So far, have daughters. I'm batting at 75 percent for a boy next time. So, we'll just keep our fingers crossed.'
She also previously said that she would want to be a parent like Teresa Giudice on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The Grammy winner told ELLE she liked 'Teresa from Jersey' because she 'does not play about her kids.'

'She will fight for those little girls,' Rihanna stated.
'She will flatten you about those kids. And that resonates with me a lot because I feel like that's the type of mom I'm going to be. Psycho about it...You talk about my kids, it's over.'
Rihanna had previously sparked speculation she was expecting after she was seen out and about concealing her tummy in snaps last month.
For their mother-son outing, which came after she 'cancelled her planned comeback concerts' for the summer, she dressed for comfort in an oversize, grey T-shirt paired with baggy jeans and chunky, slip-on sneakers as well as red-tinted sunglasses.
Fans also took to X to accuse her of being pregnant again with one saying, 'Girl, are you having another baby?' an another sharing: 'Giving me with child vibes.'
The rapper, born Rakim Athelaston Mayers, and the Diamonds singer have been in a relationship for over four years and were longtime friends for nearly a decade before their romance blossomed.
They welcomed their first child together in 2022 and their second in 2023.
Last June, less than a year before she welcomed her youngest child, she sparked pregnancy rumours again when she skipped the Met Gala.
She shut down the speculation at the time but revealed that she wants to have more children.
When asked if she and Rocky have plans to expand their family, she told Entertainment Tonight: 'You know what, I hope so.'
She also previously shared that she hopes to have a baby girl to join her family one day.
'I don't know what God wants, but I would go for more than two,' she told Interview Magazine in April 2024. 'I would try for my girl. But, of course, if it's another boy, it's another boy.'

Miley Cyrus flashes sideboob in tiny halter top as she steps out in NYC with much-younger boyfriend
Miley Cyrus narrowly avoided a major wardrobe malfunction as she left her New York City hotel with her rocker boyfriend Maxx Morando on Wednesday. The three-time Grammy Winner, 32, flashes plenty of sideboob while wearing a glitzy sequin halter top that exposed her toned back. She styled the risky top with belted cutoff denim shorts, fishnet stockings and sexy color-blocked Christian Louboutin boots. Miley — who recently released a new album — rocked designer sunglasses as she eagerly signed autographs and snapped selfies with fans. The tattooed star was led to a nearby SUV by her security team as well as boyfriend Maxx, who she's been dating since late 2021. The drummer, 24, looked stoic in a navy blue Gucci polo shirt, baggy black pants and white lace-up sneakers. Miley appeared to be heading to Wednesday night's taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she'll promote her new album Something Beautiful. Something Beautiful, Miley's ninth studio album, was released on May 30 and has been largely promoted as the singer's 'psychedelic' music era. The album has received mixed reviews from critics, with Rolling Stone awarding it four out of five stars. Meanwhile, Pitchfork offered harsh words as they branded Something Beautiful as 'directionless and thematically vague.' Along with 13 brand new tracks, Miley is also releasing a corresponding film that will play in theaters for one night only in the United States on Thursday, June 12. Miley has been out in full force to promote Something Beautiful, including a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and exclusive album listening parties across the United States and Paris, France. This press tour has also seen Miley partake in some of her most personal interviews to date. She recently appeared on the New York Times podcast The Interview, where she opened up about her reconciliation with dad Billy Ray Cyrus and his shock new romance with Elizabeth Hurley. As for her glam, Miley had a noticeable sun-kissed glow to her complexion and her shiny, brunette hair was worn in her natural waves She eagerly signed autographs and snapped selfies with fans She said that seeing her dad — who divorced Miley's mom Tish Cyrus in 2022 — move on has allowed her to love both her parents 'as individuals' and that seeing them happy has helped her finally 'grow up.' 'As I've gotten older, I respect my parents as individuals instead of as parents because, you know, my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' said the pop icon. She added, 'I took on some of my mom's hurt as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult. So I owned a lot of her pain as mine.' 'But now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, Dom, who I completely adore, and now that I see my dad finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of parental pairing. I'm being an adult about it.' Miley's mom Tish, 58, split from her father in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in 2023. She married Australian actor and Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in August the same year. 'At first, it's hard,' Miley noted of her dad's new romance, 'because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, yes, that's your dad — but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy. So my adult self has caught up. My child self has caught up.' Billy Ray, 63, debuted his romance with Elizabeth, 59, in April. It came after the end of his short-lived marriage to 36-year-old singer Firerose, which was settled in August 2024. Reflecting on the relentless scrutiny surrounding her famous family and why today's media cycle makes those moments easier to weather - Miley continued: 'The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast, it's forgotten really quickly. In the Nineties when something happened... it would just last for a year. Now it's just gone. 'Social media moves so fast. It just eats everything. Something may seem really important for a couple hours but then there's a meme that goes viral - somebody scats at Walmart or something - and that becomes the next thing.' Also during her sit-down for The Interview, Miley opened up about why she hasn't had children. She revealed she isn't 'passionate' about motherhood as she got candid about being child-free at 32. Miley used a conversation about celebrity make-up brands to explain her position on having children. 'My stepdad asked me the other day, 'Why are you the only one without a makeup line?'' she said. 'I was like, 'Cause that's not my passion.' He goes, 'That's the right answer.' And it made so much sense. It's like, 'I don't have a makeup line because I'm not a makeup artist.'' She continued: 'I feel that way about motherhood. It's just never been something that I've been overly passionate about.' 'It's a lot of responsibility and devotion and energy, and if you're not passionate about that, I don't know how you do sleepless nights and 18 years of what my mum dealt with,' Miley added. 'And when I say 18 years, I mean 33, 'cause I'm still a baby. So I've never felt the burn, you know? And I think for me, the burn is everything.'

Bruce Springsteen fans in 'roll call' ahead of Liverpool concert
Superfans of Bruce Springsteen have been showing their loyalty by turning up for a 'roll call' ahead of his Anfield concert. Hundreds of people gather in Stanley Park at 10am, 3pm and 7pm every day and receive a number to ensure they get the best spot at the front of his gig. The legendary musician and the E-Street Band will play two concerts at Anfield Stadium this week on Wednesday June 4 and Saturday June 7. Springsteen fans are used to the ritual of the roll call as the practice has been commonplace for fans going to his gigs since 2009. It's all planned with the organisers, after their number is written on their hand, they have to return for every roll call to keep their spot. Fans of 'The Boss' explain the roll call system and why it is worth the wait One fan says: "As long as you've got your number and you turn up for roll call then you keep that number, but if you don't turn up then you are scrubbed off the list. It's all worth it because some of us are a little bit older and when security come they walk us in, there's no running or pushing in front of each other"
