
Spl trains between city & Bhagalpur
The Ranchi-Bhagalpur- Ranchi via Koderma special train will ply from Thursday and August 10. "The train will operate three days a week — Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday — from Ranchi. Train number 08645 will run between Bhagalpur and Ranchi, easing travel for the thousands of pilgrims," Ranchi railway division CPRO Shuchi Singh said. Another pair of trains, 08610 and 08609, will run between Ranchi and Bhagalpur via Jasidih in Deoghar.
Train 08610 will start its operation from Saturday till August 11.

Dhoni may be roped in to promote sports, tourism

Chatbot to help pilgrims during Shravani Mela In a first, Deoghar district administration has launched a Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot, through which, special information will be communicated to visitors about the Shravani Mela, which stated on July 11. The app, which can be downloaded at the click of a link, will provide interesting insights into the history of Deoghar and the Baba Temple. Besides, whatever information may be required by a devotee during the Mela, including railway station, bus stand, airport, hospital and other such data, will be available on the app. In another significant step, surveillance in the Mela area includes facial recognition and headcount cameras, enhancing enhancing crowd control and safety. Govt offices to be fully e-enabled by 2026 Taking a move towards streamlined, paperless governance, the Jharkhand government has launched a comprehensive initiative to digitise all its offices by January 2026. The move, led by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, is set to transform traditional bureaucratic workflow into a modern, tech-driven 'e-office' system. The chief secretary has also asked department heads to evaluate the progress of the 'e-Office Light' initiative. Stressing the need for accuracy and efficiency, she has directed the IT Department to ensure that the system is completely error-free and operational across all departments before the deadline. Tent cities, laser shows for pilgrims
Patna: The tourism department has made elaborate preparations for the world-renowned Shravani Mela beginning July 11, offering a range of facilities for kanwariyas and devotees along pilgrimage routes from Sultanganj to the Dumma border and from Pahleja Ghat to Baba Garibnath Temple in Muzaffarpur. Tent cities have been set up along the route with essential facilities, including accommodation, drinking water, toilets, kanwar stands and entertainment. The tent city capacities are 200 beds in Sultanganj, 600 in Abaraka (Banka), and 200 each in Khaira (Munger) and Dhobai. All are equipped with drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and cleaning services. Cultural programmes will run throughout the mela. "In a first, the tourism department is providing facilities between Pahleja and Baba Garibnath Temple," the release said. A German hangar tent city for 500 people has been established near Pahleja Ghat, and a waterproof tent city accommodating 1,000 has been built at RDS College, Muzaffarpur. Additional 200-capacity tents are set up in Goraul and Bithauli (Vaishali) and Turki (Muzaffarpur). All sites have fans, coolers, chairs, CCTV surveillance, and security. Bamboo kanwar stands and LED TV-equipped tourist information centres have also been installed. These centres will broadcast live and recorded content about Bihar Tourism and include public announcement systems. Medical facilities will be available at major points, and a toll-free helpline (18003037677) has been issued for Mela-related queries. Twelve temporary tourist information centres will be operational between Sultanganj and Dumma, offering free brochures and updates. A Ganga Aarti will be performed at Sultanganj and a laser show depicting Lord Shiva's life will feature in both the opening and closing ceremonies.

Month-long Shravani Mela starts in Deoghar, Dumka
Dumka: Shravani Mela, one of the largest religious congregations in the country, was inaugurated by the state minister for tourism, Sudivya Kumar, and his cabinet colleagues, Deepika Pandey Singh and Sanjay Prasad Yadav, at the Dumma interstate border in Deoghar on Thursday, the day of 'Asarh Purnima'. A total of 11 priests chanted Vedic mantras while assisting the ministers in performing rituals to mark the beginning of the month-long event. Lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad pay offerings at the Baidyanath Dham, which is one of the Dwadash Jyotirlingas and Shaktipeeths, in Deoghar during this period. Sudivya said, "The state govt plans to construct a foot-over-bridge between Khijuria and Mansarovar for the ' kanwariyas ' travelling to Babadham. The facility would also help to manage traffic movement in the temple town throughout the year." AI-chatbot, radio-frequency identification, face recognition cameras, and other AI-based electronic gadgets being used by the local administration to ensure a smooth event was highlighted. Ministers Deepika and Sanjay wished that the devotees have a pleasant experience.
