A special NIA court in Chhattisgarh on Saturday granted bail to two Kerala-based nuns and another individual, nine days after their arrest in a case related to alleged human trafficking and forced religious conversion.

Hyderabad: A Visakhapatnam-based doctor was arrested by Gopalapuram police from Hyderabad's RGI Airport on Monday for her alleged involvement in the trafficking-cum-illegal surrogacy racket being probed by local police. "Later when we went for a DNA test, we realised the claim was false," the complainant claimed. Based on her complaint, Gopalapuram police named Dr Vidyulatha as an accused and nabbed her. "She had come to Hyderabad for some property transaction. We tracked her down and caught her from the RGI Airport while she was planning to return to Visakhapatnam," said a police official. Dr Vidyulatha is currently being interrogated by Gopalapuram police. Dr Vidyulatha along with four others including Dr Namratha and Kalyani were charged under BNS & Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021.

Two Killed, Six Wounded In LA After-Party Shooting; Police Investigation Underway
The identities of the deceased have not yet been fully released by police. Two people were killed and six others left injured in a shooting that occurred during an after-party in downtown Los Angeles overnight on Sunday. According to KTLA, the Los Angeles Police Department stated that the incident took place around 1 am on August 4. Authorities confirmed that the gunfire broke out near 14th Place and Griffith Avenue, an area reportedly hosting multiple parties at the time. Police had already patrolled the location earlier in the evening, around 11 pm, after observing an individual entering an unauthorised gathering. The LAPD said they cleared out the event, which had more than 50 people present. During that sweep, one attendee was arrested for carrying a firearm. Despite this intervention, officers were called back to the same venue following a radio alert about shots being fired. When they arrived, they found that eight individuals had been struck by gunfire. Two victims succumbed to their injuries, while six others were left wounded. One of the surviving victims is in critical condition, according to an LAPD spokesperson speaking with KTLA 5. 'It was pretty clear and loud… You knew that if those bullets landed in somebody, that they weren't walking away from the situation," said local resident Tyrone Laney in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. The identities of the deceased have not yet been fully released by police. However, officials confirmed that the victims included a man and a 52-year-old woman. One died at the scene, while the other was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Some of the injured victims were admitted to California Hospital Medical Center for treatment. One of the victims has been identified as 29-year-old Gregory Derisso, according to his father, Judner Derisso. He described Gregory as a dedicated music producer and the father of three young children, all under the age of five. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the party was promoted online as an 'unofficial after-party" for the Hard Summer festival and featured house and techno music. An Instagram post advertising the event reportedly listed the names of DJs scheduled to perform. No arrests have been made so far. Inspired By Premanand Govind Sharan, Boy, 13, Flees Home To Become Seer
Gorakhpur: Inspired by Vrindavan-based spiritual guru Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, a 13-year-old boy from Gorakhpur ran away from home to become a seer. The boy, identified as Aman Dubey, son of Amarnath Dubey, was eventually found near a ghat in Varanasi after a police-led search using CCTV footage and surveillance. "I want to become like Sant Premanand Maharaj. That's why I left home. I first came to Varanasi and planned to stay at a temple here for a few days before heading to Mathura to be in his refuge," Aman told the police after being rescued. A resident of Bimutia village under the Barhalganj police station limits, Aman left for school on August 1 as usual but didn't return home. When he didn't come back even by 8 pm, his worried family members launched a search and eventually filed a missing report the next day. Police began scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas, including bus stops and railway stations. In one of the recordings, Aman was seen boarding a train from Dohrighat towards Varanasi. His photo was shared with GRP and local police in Varanasi, who finally traced him near a ghat, police said. The GRP handed him over to the local child welfare body, Childline. His parents, accompanied by Gorakhpur police, left for Varanasi on Monday to bring him back, police said. According to Aman's father, he was highly influenced by spiritual discourses and regularly watched videos of Sant Premanand on social media. "He never shared anything with us, but he was deeply motivated by the teachings," said Amarnath Dubey, a furniture businessman. SHO of Barhalganj police station, Chandrabhan Singh, confirmed that the boy is safe and will be brought back home soon.
