Noida, Ghaziabad School Holiday: Four-Day Holiday Starts Today; Sparks Debate Over Learning Process
The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has ordered the closure of government primary schools in Noida and Ghaziabad from August 14 to August 17, according to TOI reports. Private schools, however, remain unaffected and are expected to remain open on August 14. The announcement of the holiday has sparked concern among teachers regarding its impact on the learning process. A primary school teacher in Noida pointed out that this four-day break comes soon after schools were closed for a week due to the Kanwar Yatra. "Just a few days back, schools were closed for nearly a week due to the Kanwar Yatra. Now again there is a four-day holiday. This will hamper the teaching-learning process, especially for younger students," said a primary school teacher in Noida, TOI reported. The four-day break includes a restricted holiday for Chehlum on August 14, Independence Day celebrations on August 15, Janmashtami holiday on August 16, and Sunday on August 17. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Noida, Rahul Panwar, clarified that private schools can decide whether to remain open on August 14. 'Aug 14 is a restricted holiday. If any private school wants to remain open, they can,' he said. However, on Aug 15, all schools will reopen briefly for flag hoisting and Independence Day celebrations, said the official. Officials shared details of the Independence Day programme. "Majorly, Independence Day celebrations will take place in higher secondary schools on Thursday and Friday. Saturday is a holiday for Janmashtami," said Dharmendra Kumar, district inspector of schools (DIOS) of Ghaziabad, TOI reported. Kumar also mentioned the other necessary instructions to all schools regarding flag hoisting, cultural events, and safety protocols. On the other hand, another school teacher from Ghaziabad encouraged the announcement of a day break in school and said, "It's good that it's a long weekend. It gives everyone time to relax and recharge. Teachers, too, need some rest in the middle of a hectic term."

Congress routinely blames EVMs, there is no cure for lies: Saini
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Wednesday took a jibe at Congress' Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and said that Congress won 10 seats in the state by margins ranging from 100 to 1,000 votes. 'If there were any faults in the EVMs, they would not have won these seats. People should not be misled on the issue. Congress members should explain this to their leader Rahul Gandhi and get him treated, as there is no cure for.' Saini was interacting with the media persons after the Tiranga Yatra in Kurukshetra, Wednesday. The Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Agriculture and Farmers & Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, and Chairman Dharam Veer Mirzapur were also present on the occasion. 'Whenever election results are announced whether in the state or across the country, Congress routinely blames the EVMs. During this election, Congress leaders repeatedly claimed that if Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for a third term, the Constitution would be in danger. Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of the INDIA alliance campaigned using the Constitution as a symbol, but the people of the country rejected their false narratives. Instead, they elected Modi as PM. In Haryana too, the BJP formed the government for the third time in a row,' Saini said, adding that the Congress has no real issues left and is now frustrated. Prajapati community gets new identity CM Saini and his cabinet colleagues Wednesday distributed eligibility certificates to the members of Prajapati community across various parts of Haryana. The CM presided over the state-level function in Kurukshetra for distribution of these entitlement certificates to families belonging to Prajapati community. The programme was held simultaneously in all 22 districts and the certificates will benefit around 1,00,000 families with land entitlement certificates. Under the scheme, entitlement certificates have been issued in about 1,700 villages, granting the Prajapati community collective rights for soil excavation. A government spokesperson said, 'These certificates, issued under the Gram Shamlat Bhumi Niyamwali, 1964, not only grant the right to use the land but also provide legal authority to carry out their work without hindrance. This initiative will enable the Prajapati community to give a new direction to their art, help realise their dreams and allow them to manufacture products without having to travel far.' Describing the Prajapati community as hardworking, honest and skilled, Saini said that the art of making earthen pots has been an integral part of our cultural heritage. 'However, over time, this skill has not received the respect and opportunities the community deserves, and the necessary resources to connect the new generation with this art were not provided in time. Earlier, in every village, adequate land was available for the Prajapati community to source soil, but previous governments failed to address this need. During the Congress regime, even the workplaces of the Prajapati community were encroached upon. Not only that, those in power at the time conspired against the community and attempted to take away their livelihood. A superficial promise of allotting 100-square-yard plots in villages was made, but those plots were carved out from the very land where the Prajapati community earned their living. Such policies brought the employment of this community almost to a standstill.'
