Rio Ferdinand announces he is leaving TNT Sports pundit role
The former Manchester United and England defender has been part of the broadcaster's punditry team for a decade but will stand down after its coverage of Saturday's Champions League final.
'Since retiring from football, it has been a privilege talking about the game I love for a decade for sports fans watching BT Sport and TNT Sports,' he said in a statement published on his X account.

'I want to acknowledge the tremendous support from the team behind the scenes, whose hard work often goes unseen but has been essential to our success.
'As I turn the page to the next chapter, I carry with me countless memories. I am excited about what the future holds, spending more time with my family, focusing on Rio Ferdinand Presents and my other business interests.
'I hope to stay connected with you all in different capacities. Thank you once again for everything!'
Sources close to TNT Sports have told the PA news agency that this is an amicable parting of ways, and that the door is being kept ajar for future opportunities.
Ferdinand first announced he was working as part of the BT Sport team in May 2013, with BT rebranding as TNT Sports in the summer of 2023.
The 46-year-old has become a regular part of the presenting line-up for the broadcaster's European club football coverage but is now set to spend more time working on his personal content channels.
His Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel currently has 1.32 million subscribers.
Ferdinand will sign off as part of TNT's presentation team for the Champions League final between Paris St Germain and Inter Milan in Munich on Saturday.
Earlier this month Ferdinand was forced to miss a number of matches after being hospitalised by what he later described on his YouTube channel as a 'mad virus', admitting at one point he thought it was 'lights out' for him.

Ruben Amorim thinks Bruno Fernandes wants to stay at Man Utd amid Saudi interest
Fernandes won the club's player of the year award for a record-equalling fourth time having been a shining light during the Red Devils' worst top-flight campaign since suffering relegation in 1973-74. Last week's Europa League final loss to Tottenham compounded matters, with the financial hit of missing out on Champions League qualification – and European football entirely – damaging Amorim's rebuild. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim think Bruno Fernandes wants to stay (Martin Rickett/PA) Fernandes admitted after the loss in Bilbao that United could end up cashing in on him, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal pushing to sign the 30-year-old playmaker ahead of the Club World Cup. The Portugal international led United out as they rounded off their post-season trip to Asia with a 3-1 friendly win against Hong Kong. Asked whether that might have been Fernandes' last United appearance, head coach Amorim said: 'I don't think so. 'I don't know for sure, nobody knows, but I don't think so. I think he is seeing us taking some actions to change all the things and I think that is all that he asked. I think he wants to stay. Bruno Fernandes has shone during a difficult season for Manchester United (Martin Rickett/PA( 'He's saying no to a lot of things, but it shows that he wants to win and I think he's really young, he's really good. He needs to be in the best league in the world.' Fernandes is reportedly giving serious consideration to the big-money proposal, with Al-Hilal said to be willing to triple the United skipper's salary and pay the Premier League club up to £100million. That figure would help fund this summer's much-needed rebuild as United navigate profit and sustainability rules. Pushed on whether United could turn down such a fee, Amorim said: 'Yes, yes. We can find another way to earn money.'

BGT's Bruno Tonioli shares what he really thinks about stand-in judge KSI
Rumours have been swirling that the YouTube star may replace dancer Bruno after making a great impression on his first series Guest judge KSI makes a return to tomorrow night's Britain's Got Talent amid rumours ITV are eyeing him up as a permanent fixture. He took a seat on the talent show panel for the first time this series, standing in for Bruno Tonioli when he was working in the US. Not that Bruno feels threatened. He says he's a huge fan of the YouTube star. 'Well we're both young, attractive, multi-talented stars, known the world over!' teased Bruno 69. 'Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic. I met him for the first time at the BGT auditions in Blackpool and he was such a delight. "He's a real charming man, full of energy. We attended the Brits together too which was a fabulous evening!' Tomorrow night Bruno will take his seat alongside KSI for the first time, as well as judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon. The former Strictly Come Dancing favourite says show boss Simon, 65, has been keeping him on his toes all series. 'Simon is a very mischievous man,' says Bruno. 'He always has been. When he has that glint in his eye, you know he's about to be very cheeky. I think it's partly this quality that makes him so watchable. "It's particularly exciting when the show is live – no one know what's going to happen next and Simon loves that unpredictability – we all do! 'I have it easy when it comes to being wound up by Simon as I sit on the other end of the judges' desk, it's Amanda (Holden) I feel sorry for as she bears the brunt of his naughtiness the most. But she's been sat next to him for so many years and she knows exactly how to handle him. She's a pro!" Bruno says he's in awe of his glamourous sidekicks. He also loves to compete with their risque outfits. "That woman (Amanda) is a vision, as is Alesha," Bruno enthuses. "Amanda and I share the same love of clothes and we both dare to bare. I'll be baring it for as long as I've got it, darling. Well into my 70's. "The public always look forward to seeing what the girls are wearing, and they never disappoint. Sometimes I might look at Amanda's outfit backstage and if her decolletage is deeper than mine, I'll undo another button on my shirt!" Watch the BGT final tonight on ITV from 7pm.
