Brandon Blackstock's Demise
Blackstock died on Thursday (August 7) at the age of 48 after battling cancer for three years, according to a statement released by a family representative. The news about his demise broke hours after Clarkson released a statement on social media about Blackstock's illness.
Informing her fans about a change in schedule for her upcoming Las Vegas residency show, the American Idol star released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) explaining the reason for abruptly cancelling the concerts. The American singer wrote about her ex-husband's illness and requested her fans' support.

However, the Since U Been Gone superstar did not share any details about Blackstock's illness. In a statement announcing his demise, the family representative said he was battling cancer for more than three years. The representative then said the talent manager was supported by his family and died peacefully.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time," the statement read.
Blackstock survived with four children -- River, Remington, Savannah, and Seth (two from his previous marriage), grandson (Lake), father Narvel Blackstock, and siblings Chassidy, Shawna, and Shelby.

You take that into Singapore, where it is scorching hot, and all of a sudden you're feeling the fumes from the computer and you're feeling the fumes from the sun, and you're doing a show for three hours with a lot of energy, bringing it every single song," he said. "That is arguably more exhausting than how much I put in on a Sunday, and she's doing it three, four, five days in a row." This is not the first time Kelce has commented on Singapore's heat. In the March 13, 2024, episode of Kelce and his brother Jason's New Heights podcast, Kelce gave a glowing review of his visit between March 7 and 9, calling the city-state high-tech and futuristic, exceedingly well-planned-out and more interesting to him than Sydney, Australia, where he also travelled to for The Eras Tour. He also made nods to the diverse cuisine and the 38 deg C temperatures. In the same interview, Kelce gushed about the couple's relationship and how he is the "happiest guy in the world" since they started dating in 2023. He said they could relate to each other, revealing how they have a lot in common, such as entertaining sold-out stadiums. "I hadn't experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions. That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows." He also stressed that their romance is not a publicity stunt. "Whenever I'm with her, it feels like we're just regular people. We're just two people who are in love," Kelce said, adding that their relationship happened very organically. Shocking revelations have come to light in the wake of the death of Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, last week at the age of 48. An obituary for the late talent manager revealed that he "building a life" with Clarkson's former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones, while he was battling cancer. Blackstock was married to Kelly Clarkson from 2013 until 2020 and was father to their two children, River, 11, and Remington, 9. The obituary, released on Tuesday, revealed that Blackstock had been romantically involved with Jones and was quietly starting a new life with her in Montana, a detail that came as an unknown fact to several of his fans. His four children were and will always be his greatest love and his greatest legacy," the obituary continued. Besides River and Remington, Blackstock was also father to Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, from his first marriage to Melissa Ashworth — who, like Clarkson, was not mentioned in the obituary. Clarkson and Blackstock reached a settlement in 2022 after a long and bitter legal battle, which included a custody battle over their children. Building a New Life Though Blackstock initially resisted moving out of the "Stronger" singer's Montana ranch, a court ordered him to leave the property in June 2022. Shortly afterward, he bought a $1.8 million ranch in Butte, Montana, according to Us Weekly, and went on to establish Valley View Rodeo, where Jones served as his executive assistant. "I also currently fulfill personal assistant duties for Mr. Blackstock." Blackstock died on Aug. 7 after a long battle with melanoma, an aggressive type of skin cancer.
