Tony Hinchcliffe's controversial comedy hits Netflix with Kill Tony specials and solo debut
Known for his edgy humor and unapologetic roasting style, Hinchcliffe will release three Kill Tony specials and one solo stand-up hour on the platform, all filmed at Joe Rogan's Comedy Mothership in Austin, Texas.
Hinchcliffe, who rose to fame with his Kill Tony podcast, made headlines last year after appearing at a Donald Trump campaign rally, where his jokes sparked backlash—including remarks about Puerto Rico. Though Trump's campaign distanced itself from the comments, Hinchcliffe's supporters claim his material defends free speech in comedy.
Raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Hinchcliffe built his career in Los Angeles after writing for Comedy Central's celebrity roasts and touring with comics like Joe Rogan and Jeff Ross. His podcast, Kill Tony, features up-and-coming comedians performing one-minute sets before being critiqued—often harshly—by Hinchcliffe and guest panelists.
The 40-year-old comic has weathered controversy throughout his career, including a 2021 incident involving a racial slur and more recent jokes about slavery and homosexuality. Yet, he remains firm in his stance, telling Variety in 2024, 'Comedians should never apologize for a joke.'
As Netflix continues to embrace polarizing stand-up acts—including Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais—co-CEO Ted Sarandos defended the platform's decision, saying comedians must have space to push boundaries.
With an audience fueled by podcast listeners and conservative-leaning young men, Hinchcliffe's unapologetic comedy is set to test Netflix's balance between engagement and controversy.

Netflix star Noah Centineo reportedly casted in Rambo prequel
Noah Centineo, known for his roles in Netflix's The Recruit and To All the Boys I've Loved Before, is set to portray a young John Rambo in the upcoming prequel film John Rambo. According to Deadline, the film will explore the iconic action hero's origins during the Vietnam War, before the events of the 1982 movie First Blood. The project is being developed by Millennium Media and will be directed by Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander, best known for Sisu. The script is written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, the writing duo behind Black Adam, in which Centineo also starred. Although Sylvester Stallone, who made the Rambo character famous across five films, is not involved in the prequel, he is reportedly aware of the project and Centineo's casting. The film is expected to begin production in early 2026 in Thailand, with Lionsgate reportedly the front-runner to distribute, continuing its association with the franchise following Rambo: Last Blood. Centineo's casting marks a significant shift for the franchise, which has grossed over $800 million globally since its debut. While some fans may be skeptical about the actor stepping into such a rugged role, Centineo has been expanding his action credentials, including roles in Warfare and the upcoming Street Fighter adaptation. The film will be produced by Kevin King-Templeton, Les Weldon, Jonathan Yunger, and Avi Lerner, with executive producers Trevor Short and Bonfire Legends' Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk. Helander, meanwhile, is set to release Sisu 2 in November 2025, building anticipation for his take on the Rambo franchise. With its mix of war drama and high-octane action, John Rambo aims to reignite interest in one of cinema's most enduring action icons while introducing a new generation to the troubled veteran's beginnings.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially extended their multi-year first-look deal with Netflix through their company Archewell Productions, cementing their ongoing partnership with the streaming giant. Originally signed in 2020, the deal has already delivered several high-profile projects including the documentary series Harry & Meghan, the competitive sports-focused Heart of Invictus, the leadership-themed Live to Lead, and the reality programme Polo. One of the most notable successes from the collaboration has been Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which blends home, food and cultural elements. The series is set to return for a second season later this month, aligning with the launch of her new brand As Ever, a venture developed in partnership with Netflix. A holiday-themed special of the show is also scheduled to drop in December, aimed at capturing the festive audience. The renewed agreement also paves the way for a range of new productions. Among them is Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary short focusing on a Ugandan orphanage where children use dance as a form of healing and self-expression. Another upcoming project is a film adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling romantic drama novel Meet Me at the Lake, which is expected to attract significant attention given its compelling love story and scenic settings. Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria praised the couple's ability to connect with global audiences, citing the massive reach of Harry & Meghan and the warm reception for With Love, Meghan. She emphasised that their projects have consistently delivered both emotional depth and mass appeal, making the renewed partnership a natural next step.
