Benidorm hotel pool fight sees brawlers thrown in water and sunbathers punched

Daily Mirror21-07-2025
A TikTok clip has gone viral of mayhem by the side of a swimming pool at a Benidorm hotel where at least 10 men were involved in a fight with kicking and punching
A massive brawl broke out by the swimming pool at a hotel in a popular Spanish resort with people chucked into the water.

Punches were thrown in the ugly scenes at the Benidorm hotel as other tourists watched on in horror at the chaos as more people got involved. The situation quickly escalated with brawlers pushing and shoving, before footage shows a man being launched into the pool. A man dressed in black was shoved while another person in a T-shirt targets a sunbather before he himself ends up in the pool. But he then quickly jumps out and in retaliation shoves another into the water.

The clip has gone viral on social media, and has racked up nearly 300,000 views on TikTok. In the melee involving at least 10 men, there were kicks as well as punches while other bathers watched on.
An England flag was clearly seen hanging in the background with the words "Ash's Stag 2025", but it is unclear whether the men involved are British, or why the fight broke out in the first place.
There has been a mixed response online to the brawl with some joking and others blasting the behaviour as 'embarrassing'.

'How embarrassing...say no more, it's Benidorm," one social media user wrote. Another commented: 'These lot are an absolute embarrassment.' Another said: 'Quite possibly the worst (but best) scrap ever.'
It comes a month after a 'joke' on a lad's holiday in Benidorm ended up with a dad breaking his neck when he was shoved into a pool.

Martin Bullen, 31, described how someone who he didn't know playfully pushed him into the water at a Benidorm pool party on June 10. The single dad-of-two said he tried to turn his fall into a dive but he didn't realise how shallow the water was and he split his head open on the bottom of the pool.
Luckily one of the revellers at the party was an army medic who helped get Martin out of the pool and kept him still until an ambulance arrived. Paramedics took Martin, who works as a sales advisor, to a nearby hospital where doctors gave him 16 stitches in his head and found that he had fractured his neck in three places and broken his back.
He said that the trip to Benidorm had been intended as a relaxing getaway with his cousins to give Martin a break from being a busy single dad.
He said he had gone to book travel insurance before the holiday but he had gotten distracted before paying and forgot to purchase it - a mistake he dubbed 'stupid'. Martin ended up forking out £1,500 for the hospital stay and extra flights - he is urging holidaymakers travelling this summer not to make the same "daft mistake" as him.

Brit woman drowned in 'intense waves' on Greek holiday as husband tried to save her

Emma Jane Slack, 54, got into difficulty while swimming in the sea off Corfu in Greece on July 9 during a holiday with her husband who bravely tried to save her A British woman tragically drowned in "intense waves" while on holiday in Greece as her husband desperately tried to save her, an inquest heard. ‌ Emma Jane Slack got into difficulty while swimming in the sea off Corfu on July 9. Her husband tried to save her but she sadly passed away, the brief hearing in Ruthin, Denbighshire, Wales, heard. John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said an inquest was required as her body had been repatriated. ‌ The 54-year-old, a training advisor from Mold, Flintshire, was on holiday with her husband Rob in the resort of Roda, on the north coast of the island when the tragedy happened. Mr Slack tried to rescue her but he, too, got into difficulty. ‌ The coroner said that official documentation received from the Greek authorities referred to "intense wave activity" and the cause of death was given as "drowning", North Wales Live reported. The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed. ‌ While Corfu's sea conditions can vary, the Ionian Sea is generally known for calmer waters, especially during the summer. However, rough seas can occur, especially when the Maestral (northwesterly) wind hits, creating moderate to rough conditions, particularly in exposed areas. On Sunday 20, a British tourist was tragically found dead on his sun lounger on another Greek island after reportedly becoming unwell. The 74-year-old was discovered unconscious on Stalis Beach on Crete by other people at the resort at around 12pm. Emergency services rushed to the scene and made a desperate bid to revive the man, but unfortunately, their efforts proved unsuccessful. It is understood that he had first gone for a swim before returning to the sun lounger and there are reports he had a "strong feeling" of sickness shortly before his death. Paramedics from Hellenic National Center of Emergency Care (EKAB) treated the man at the scene and no cause of death has yet been given by the Greek authorities. An autopsy was due to be carried out.

American shopper 'sent into coma' after Sainsbury's visit

Content creator Paige Wester, who is an American living in England, posted a TikTok where she revealed her shock and confusion over how Brits shop. Taking to Sainsbury's and in a later video Tesco, the TikTok star branded the series "things in a British grocery store that would send Americans into a coma." Both videos have gone viral on TikTok, gaining a combined nearly 3 million views. American's shocked over British supermarkets Stepping into Sainsbury's, Paige was first surprised by British eggs, sharing: "Their eggs are never refrigerated, they're always in these containers or on shelves." One big element the TikTok creator was stunned by was the beloved tea aisle: "The tea aisle is absolutely insane to me. "It's an entire aisle just dedicated to different types of teas." Paige was also surprised by Brits' love of pies: "People love to make anything into a pie. "We've got steak pies, we've got chicken pies, we've got cheesy veg pies. "Don't get me wrong, I love a good pie, but not everything needs to be inside of a pie." The TikTok then entered the 'scary' part of Sainsbury's when she discovered black pudding on the shelf: "This is where things get scary, but black pudding is a staple in most people's households." Later, the content creator visited Tesco and was confused by the amount of juice concentrate available: "Americans may be fat, but someone tell me why British people won't drink water, they have to have juice." Adding: "Let's just all grow up and drink water like a normal person." Recommended Reading Last but not least, the American was stuck on having to pack their own shopping bags, sharing: "I know this is the lazy American in me, I'm well aware of that. "But I miss people packing up my groceries for me. "I leave the grocery store actually sweating because it stresses me out so much."

A source said: "Chris was in London for the premiere of Limitless and made it into a real family occasion.
