Dancer Lee Kai Yin shares first photo of face since Mirror accident in 2022
Hong Kong dancer Lee Kai Yin has shared a close-up photo of himself for the first time in three years.
The 30-year-old, also known as Ah Mo, was critically injured in July 2022 when a giant LED screen fell on him during a concert by popular Hong Kong boy band Mirror at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
Lee suffered a severe spinal injury and was in critical condition for more than a month.
Reports then said he faced the possibility of being paralysed from the neck down. Hong Kong media said he has left the territory to continue his treatment overseas.
On July 23, Lee posted on Instagram several photos, including one of himself in a wheelchair.
Although filters were used on the face, the tattoos on his chest and one of his arms matched those in old photos of him.
A scar was seen near his collarbone in the latest photo, which was probably caused by a tracheostomy tube in his neck.
'It's me!' he wrote in English, before adding in Chinese: 'I was encouraged by what the daughter of an optical shop owner said yesterday, so I'm going to share some of the little things which made me feel good lately and see if I can pick up energy from you all.'
He posted a picture of the items on his table – including K-pop girl group NewJeans' official light stick and three Teletubbies figures – two photos of a sunset and two artificial intelligence-generated pictures of his cats.
His girlfriend So Ching, a former member of Hong Kong girl group Collar, shared his post on Instagram Stories, writing: 'If I were half as strong as him.'
In December 2024, Lee posted on Instagram his first photo of himself in hospital showing only his hand, while his father, pastor Derek Li, was beside him.
'Probably the only human being who loves me so much and actually cares about my every nanometer bit of improvement every single day,' Lee wrote then. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

YG Entertainment Suspends Fan Gatherings Outside Building Amid Safety Concerns
For years, fans have flocked to the front of the official HYBE building in Hapjeong, Seoul, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite K-pop idols. The site quickly became a must-visit for K-pop enthusiasts, it was known for spontaneous sightings, casual meet-and-greets, and fan-organised events. More than just a company headquarters, it came to symbolise a unique connection between artists and fans. As time went on, the area transformed into a cultural touchpoint. Fans from all over the world gathered there, not just to see idols, but to bond with each other. They left handwritten letters, thoughtful gifts, and heartfelt messages. Some simply stood by to soak in the atmosphere. The space offered a shared experience that few other places could replicate. On 6th August (Wednesday), YG Entertainment released an official statement announcing that all face-to-face interactions outside their building would come to an end. The company pointed to growing safety concerns for both artists and fans. Additionally, complaints from nearby residents about noise and overcrowding have been ongoing for years, but the recent surge in attendance has made the situation harder to control. In the statement, the agency thanked fans for their continued support and enthusiasm. However, they emphasised that the safety and well-being of their artists must come first. They also asked fans to avoid lingering outside the building for extended periods and urged everyone to respect the new guidelines moving forward. While HYBE has yet to release an official explanation for the sudden shift in approach, many fans believe it's driven by similar safety concerns. During TREASURE (트레저) member Yoon Jaehyuk's (윤재혁) recent birthday, an overwhelming crowd gathered outside the building. The situation escalated so quickly that police had to step in, highlighting just how intense these gatherings can become. Reactions from fans have been mixed. While some support the change, hoping it will give idols more privacy and reduce potential risks, others feel disappointed that a long-standing ritual has come to an end. Many are frustrated that the behaviour of a few has affected the entire fan base. Regardless of opinion, the decision marks a bittersweet turning point in how fans connect with their favourite artists in real life. Influencer Kim Seri Accused Of Neglecting Her 3 Kids In Malaysia While Living In Korea
Malaysian influencer Kim Seri has been receiving negative press lately. Previously, the content creator was accused of travel package fraud after a woman and several colleagues were allegedly left stranded in South Korea due to Kim Seri's travel agency failing to provide return tickets. The case appears to still be ongoing, with little to no updates following the arrest of her former husband. While all of this was happening, the public figure has since remarried, this time to a Korean-Muslim man named Choi Amin. However, Kim Seri is now facing renewed backlash, this time over allegations of being a neglectful mother to her two children. The latest criticism stems from a post on Threads by an anonymous user who goes by @/user768592844621919, who questioned Kim Seri's parenting. The post insinuated that she had abandoned her children while enjoying a comfortable life in Korea. 'Doesn't she miss her kids? I mean, she's living comfortably in Korea, even got married to someone there, but it's a pity that she hasn't been a present parent. It's a shame that they have a mother who is a scammer,' the post read. The post quickly went viral, with many netizens agreeing with the user's sentiments. Numerous commenters criticised the influencer for allegedly failing to prioritise her children, accusing her of being an irresponsible parent. Others continued to brand her a scammer and claimed that she had brought shame to her family. At the time of writing, Kim Seri has yet to respond to the latest backlash. However, she has previously denied similar accusations, stating that it was her ex-sister-in-law who had restricted her access to her children. In other news, the Malaysian influencer is taking legal action against an individual who questioned the legitimacy of her marriage to her new husband. At this point, let's just hope there's an end to this whole fiasco surrounding Kim Seri. Sources: Threads, Instagram
