Allegedly impaired driver charged after crash

A local driver is facing impaired driving charges after they allegedly crashed their vehicle in New Tecumseth early Tuesday morning.
According to Nottawasaga OPP, officers responded to a call at around 1 a.m. for vehicle in the ditch on Highway 89 near County Road 56.
Police say the officers met with the driver after locating the vehicle, forming grounds that the driver was impaired by alcohol.
The 27-year-old driver from Cookstown was charged with operation while impaired, operation with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres, and driving with liquor readily available.
The accused was scheduled for a Wednesday court appearance to answer to the charges.

Court documents detailing allegations against a senior member of the London Police Service have been obtained by CTV News. Court documents detailing allegations against a senior member of the London Police Service have been obtained by CTV News. The 25-year Insp. Ryan Scrivens was arrested in February and charged with assault in May, related to an incident in Ottawa. According to the documents, he's also been charged with assault related to an incident in Toronto from last November. Scrivens is currently suspended with pay, and his next court appearance is in Ottawa later this month. London and Ottawa police are refusing to comment on the case.
