Instagram Finally Coming to iPad by End of 2025 Meta, the parent company of Instagram, is finally developing an official app tailored for iPad devices — a move that has long been anticipated by tablet users. اضافة اعلان According to a report by Bloomberg, the app is currently undergoing internal testing by Meta employees, and if no major issues arise in the final development stages, it is expected to launch before the end of 2025. While Meta introduced a Facebook app for iPad back in 2011, it has long ignored demands for an Instagram version, sparking criticism from users who viewed the absence as a sign of Meta's lack of commitment to the iPad user base. However, that stance appears to be shifting. In recent weeks, Meta released an official version of WhatsApp for iPad, signaling a strategic pivot to support more of its platforms on Apple's tablet ecosystem. A previous report by The Information confirmed that development of an iPad version of Instagram had officially begun, further supporting expectations of an imminent release. As of now, Meta has not confirmed whether it plans to launch a Threads app for iPad as well. Still, the expected arrival of Instagram could pave the way for broader support across the company's services. Notably, Meta acquired Instagram in 2012 — just two years after the launch of the first iPad — yet the app has remained absent from the device for over a decade. Some analysts believe the delay may have stemmed from technical or business disputes with Apple, particularly over privacy policies and ad revenue — long-standing points of friction between the two tech giants.

1.8 Billion iPhone Users at Risk - Jordan News

1.8 Billion iPhone Users at Risk Apple has issued an urgent security warning for all iPhone users, urging them to immediately install the latest iOS 18.5 update following the discovery of a serious security vulnerability that could put user data at risk. اضافة اعلان According to a report by Metro, the company explained that the newly discovered flaw could allow hackers to access photos, messages, and personal information if the security update is ignored. The update applies to all iPhones from iPhone XS and newer models, meaning every iPhone released since 2018. The update also covers iPad devices, including recent versions of the iPad mini. The new iOS version addresses vulnerabilities categorized as Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) that could be exploited for cyberattacks using malicious software. Apple revealed that the malicious code could be hidden in fake image or video files, and merely opening such files might crash apps or corrupt the device's memory, posing a serious threat to data security. The company identified two key vulnerabilities: CVE-2025-31251, which could cause unexpected app crashes or memory corruption when handling malicious media files. CVE-2025-31233, which poses a similar threat through malicious video files. Cybersecurity firm Safe Data Storage urged users not to delay the update, emphasizing that Apple acted swiftly to patch the flaw, but user action is critical. In a statement to the Mirror, the company said: 'Updating your device is no longer optional; it's a necessity to protect your privacy. Everyone—from family members to neighbors—should be informed about the urgent need to update.' Apple confirmed that it addressed the vulnerabilities by implementing enhanced input sanitization techniques, boosting the system's defense against such attacks. The company also advised users to accept the update immediately, even if it requires freeing up storage space on their devices. Apple, one of the world's leading tech companies, was founded in 1976 and is renowned for its innovations like the iPhone, Mac, and iPad. Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Apple is known for its commitment to quality and seamless integration between hardware and software. In 2023, the company reported revenues of approximately $383 billion, with significant growth in its services sector, including iCloud and Apple Music. Source: Al-Bayan

WhatsApp is getting usernames so you can finally stop sharing your phone number

Ammon News - WhatsApp is finally getting a feature that's so basic one has to wonder why it wasn't there in the first place: usernames. That's right, the Meta-owned app still doesn't let you log in with a username and password, instead requiring you to punch in your phone number. But this appears to be changing. According to WABetaInfo, which tracks WhatsApp beta features, a new WhatsApp beta (version 25.17.10.70), the company is currently working on adding usernames, though the feature isn't yet available for testing. The way it'll work is as follows: WhatsApp users will get the option to create a unique username consisting of letters and numbers, provided it doesn't use special characters (besides periods and underscores). For security reasons, usernames won't be allowed to start with " or end with a domain such as ".com" to prevent folks to trick people into pretending they represent a website. And, of course, usernames that are already taken will not be available.
