Brad Pitt wants access to Angelina Jolie's private conversations to prove his case

News246 days ago
Brad Pitt is not backing down when it comes to the sale of half of Château Miraval, the winery he owned with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
The F1: The Movie actor recently filed court documents requesting to see private conversations between Angelina and Alexey Oliynik, who works for Stoli Group, which bought out her stake of the winery.
Zahara Jolie, Angie and Brad's daughter, is all grown up and dating a rising star!
In 2021, the Salt actress sold her 50% stake to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group and Brad felt sidelined when the news broke because he claimed they'd had an agreement that they both had to give consent before selling. The following year, he sued Angelina (50), claiming he'd been 'waging a vindictive war' against her since she filed for divorce in 2016.
In the new filing, Brad (61) claims Alexey had firsthand knowledge of the sale of the French winery and that he was refusing to hand over relevant documents.
'These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt's objections to the sale,' the Oscar winner's legal team wrote in his filing.
His lawyers say the documents will prove Brad's claims that Angie 'acted with malice' in selling to Stoli, a move 'she knew Pitt opposed'.
The former couple haven't commented on the new filings, but Angie's legal team has previously said that Brad declined to buy her out of the winery business because she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement he wanted from her.
The actress claimed that Brad's non-disclosure agreement was 'designed to force her silence about his abuse', referring to a private jet flight in 2016 in which Brad was allegedly verbally and physically abusive with his family.
An insider shared that the events leading up to the divorce are what 'turned the kids against him' but adds that Brad 'doesn't blame [Angelina] for everything'.
'The divorce is something that had been controlling his life for so many years,' the insider says. 'He loved her and he knows he made mistakes.'
The Babylon actor recently opened up on a podcast about facing obstacles with perseverance and said that he's ready to put the past behind him as he's learned from his mistakes when it comes to parenthood and marriage.
'No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from [it] and move on,' he said at the premiere of F1.
Brad, who is now dating Ines de Ramon (32), said that at his age he sees 'how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back'.
'Friends, family, and that's it,' he said. 'From there, we get to go make things. It's a pretty simple, I think, equation.'
A source close to the mom of six said that Angelina hopes Brad can 'move on'. However, they point out that she feels this will be impossible until he calls off his lawyers.
'Sadly, until he drops his lawsuit, this family will not have the peace and healing they so very much desire and deserve,' Angie notes in legal documents her team has filed.

Shia LaBeouf Settles Sexual Battery Lawsuit by FKA twigs

The actor Shia LaBeouf settled a lawsuit with the musician FKA twigs, his former girlfriend, that accused him of sexual battery and assault, their lawyers announced in a joint statement on Tuesday. In the lawsuit, which FKA twigs filed in Los Angeles in December 2020, she accused Mr. LaBeouf of 'relentless abuse' in a relationship that lasted just short of a year. She said in the lawsuit that Mr. LaBeouf knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease, choked her and threatened her as she became isolated from friends and family. On Monday, FKA twigs, 37, asked the court to dismiss the case. In a joint statement, Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for FKA twigs, and Shawn Holley, a lawyer for Mr. LaBeouf, said that the deal was made in the spirit of 'forging a constructive path forward' and that their clients wished 'each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.' The details of the settlement would remain confidential, the lawyers said. When she filed the lawsuit and made her claims public, FKA twigs said in an interview with The New York Times that she was doing so to show how even a celebrated artist with a network of support could be caught in a cycle of abuse. She and Mr. LaBeouf met in 2018, when she was cast in 'Honey Boy,' a mostly autobiographical movie he wrote, and started dating after filming. 'I'd like to be able to raise awareness on the tactics that abusers use to control you and take away your agency,' she said then. In an email to The Times when the suit was filed, Mr. LaBeouf said 'many of these allegations are not true.' He added: 'I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I'm ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.' In the aftermath of the suit, Mr. LaBeouf parted ways with his agency, CAA, as he sought inpatient treatment. He is known for his work in 'Transformers' and last year appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's critically reviled 'Megalopolis.' FKA twigs, a British artist born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, released her third studio album, 'Eusexua,' to widespread acclaim in January. Her U.S. tour this spring was canceled because of what she called visa issues. Katie Benner contributed reporting.

FKA Twigs agrees to settle lawsuit alleging abuse from Shia LaBeouf

FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf have agreed to settle her lawsuit alleging LaBeouf was physically and emotionally abusive to her during their relationship. A lawyer for FKA Twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, filed a request in Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss her case against the 39-year-old American actor with prejudice, meaning it can't be filed again. A joint statement said: 'Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court. While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.' First filed in 2020, the case had several trial dates scheduled in the years since, but those were always delayed well in advance. ADVERTISEMENT The two met and became a couple in 2018 after 37-year-old English singer and actor Barnett was cast in a supporting role in Honey Boy, an autobiographical film about LaBeouf's upbringing as a child actor. After an early 'charm offensive' from LaBeouf, the relationship became a 'living nightmare', her lawsuit said. She said LaBeouf put her in a constant state of fear and humiliation, once slammed her into a car, tried to strangle her and knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease. She said he also isolated her from family and friends, demanded absolute fealty and was angrily jealous of everyone from waiters she'd been polite with to her ex-fiance Robert Pattinson. She said that her experience was part of a pattern for LaBeouf. 'Shia LaBeouf hurts women,' the suit said. 'He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous.' ADVERTISEMENT LaBeouf said in a statement just after the lawsuit was filed that he had been 'abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I'm ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt'. But he denied the accusations in the lawsuit in a 2021 filing, saying any injuries done or damages incurred by Barnett were not his doing. LaBeouf is best known for his roles in 2007′s Transformers and in 2008′s Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. He also starred in the 2019 film The Peanut Butter Falcon and in last year's Megalopolis. Known for her genre-bending musical styles, FKA Twigs worked as a backup dancer for other artists before releasing her studio debut, LP1, in 2014. She followed it with 2019's Magdalene and Eusexua from earlier this year. As an actor, she appeared in 2024's The Crow.
