Revealed: The truth about 'Ibiza Bob' and his claims to be a 'normal bloke' after clip of him went viral across globe

Daily Mail2 days ago
The young partygoer who became an internet sensation for his distinctive bob haircut while dancing in Ibiza is the son of a career criminal jailed for armed robbery, we can reveal.
Jack Kay, 26, has gone viral on TikTok when he was filmed cutting shapes on the party island, donning a gold chain and a pair of sunglasses, gripping a baby pink cup in his hand.
In the footage, his bright, white teeth contrast perfectly with his black vest as he purses his lips and throws out his best moves to the groove of the music.
But it was the partygoer's distinctive bob haircut that caught the attention of thousands on social media - with many internet users desperate to know who the man, who claims to be a 'normal' lad from Newcastle, really is.
Now the Daily Mail can reveal that Jack hails from Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne, and is the son of a convicted armed robber, John Edward Kay, 45.
His father has been in and out of jail for more than a decade, with his most recent stint behind bars being in 2023 after he broke into an elderly man's home on Christmas Eve 2021.
John had broken into the victim's house while he was sleeping in the property, waking the old man up with his banging.
He then stole a pair of car keys from the dining table and drove off with the vehicle.
The three-strike burglar was jailed in January 2023 for two and a half years after judges described the incident as a 'terrifying ordeal' for the elderly resident.
It was the third time Jack's father had been jailed for a burglary. In 2015 he was imprisoned for stealing £700 worth of jewellery and personal items from a woman's unoccupied home.
The break in happened just months after he had been released from jail for an armed robbery at a petrol filling station.
In 2009, as he attempted to rob the kiosk, John fired a shotgun at the Jet filling station in Blaydon, Gateshead.
Petrol station worker Glynis Graham had been working alone when John approached with the 12-bore shotgun and demanded to be let in.
When he was refused, he fired shots into the glass screen as she fled the scene. He was later jailed for 12 years after detectives found the blood drops at the scene to match his DNA.
Last night Jack broke his silence on his new found fame, taking to Instagram to announce he was just a 'normal person from Newcastle'.
He told his followers: 'Appreciate all the love and messages of everyone. I will get back to everyone quick [as] I can.
'It's just a lot for me to take in at the moment. I am just a normal person from Newcastle.
'It's crazy, stay locked in, got some big news coming.'
He went on to share a picture with Tony Truman, the co-owner of Ocean Beach Ibiza nightclub.
Other details have since come to light about Jack's life back in the UK after a woman has now claimed she is his girlfriend.
Alisha Cook, 23, shared a series of videos of the 'Ibiza final boss' captioned 'POV (point of view) ya boyfriends now known as Ibiza final boss'.
It was the third time Jack's father had been jailed for a burglary. In 2015 he was imprisoned for stealing £700 worth of jewellery and personal items from a woman's unoccupied hom
In the clips, the debt collector from South Hetton, who also makes cash selling clothes on Vinted, is seen cuddled up to 'Jack Kay' with him kissing her on the cheek, while in other clips they are seen clubbing.
Hundreds of people have since commented on the video, with one saying: 'Girl least u knew he didn't cheat, there's like every angle of him on TikTok just having a ball.'
Another added: 'Have a word with his barber then because I don't know how he leaves the house.'
A third joked: 'So was his haircut a choice or was it forced upon him by his barber?'
Since the footage spread online, Mr Kay - now known as 'Ibiza final boss' - has uploaded a brand new video to TikTok: but this time with friends.
He can be seen wearing the same iconic sunglasses and gold chain pulling out more dance moves from under his belt, as a mate puts his arm around his neck.
A montage of photos also shows the partygoer enjoying himself with 'the lads'.
Somebody commented under the video: 'Short back and Battle of Hastings, cheers mate.'
Hundreds of people have since commented on the video with one saying: 'Girl least u knew he didnt cheat theres like every angle of him on tiktok just having a ball.'
Another person said: 'Short back and magna carter please mate.'
And a third concluded: 'Are the mandem from Sherwood Forest as well?'
Mr Kay has already developed a fanbase with some admirers even using him as their artistic muse.
Someone who had painted a portrait of the reveller captioned their social media post: 'Excellent use of free will if I do say so myself.'
A number of people have even taken selfies with the Ibiza final boss as they bump into him on the island.
Tony Truman, co-owner of Ocean Beach Ibiza, posed for a picture with the young champ while another fan mistook him for the DJ and presenter Charlie Sloth on their first encounter.

Nicola Sturgeon says police investigation into her ‘was like mental torture'

Nicola Sturgeon has opened up about her arrest, describing how the police investigation was like 'mental torture' and she thought about disappearing into the North Sea. In an excerpt of her new memoir, Frankly, published by The Times, the former first minister of Scotland spoke about some of the hardest moments of her life, as well as conflicted feelings over motherhood and sexuality. Being arrested and questioned by the police following the arrest of her ex-husband and the Scottish National Party (SNP) treasurer was the 'worst day of my life', she wrote. Peter Murrell, the former chief executive officer of the SNP, was arrested in 2023 and later charged with embezzlement, after his and Ms Sturgeon's home was searched by police looking into what happened to £660,000 of donations to the party. Police also investigated Colin Beattie and Ms Sturgeon but they were later exonerated. The arrests, Ms Sturgeon said, made her feel like she 'had fallen into the plot of a dystopian novel'. She said she barely slept during the period leading up to her arrest and would wake with her stomach in knots. She described June 11, the date she was arrested and questioned, as the 'worst day of my life' but added she was partly relieved that her wait was over. Following her questioning, she went to visit a friend in the north east of Scotland for a week to escape the media glare. She wrote: 'I spent hours, looking out across the North Sea. At first, I wanted to somehow disappear into its vastness. 'Slowly but surely, though, the sea calmed me.' But alongside her darker moments was one of her proudest achievements, she said – passing her driving test at the age of 53. Ms Sturgeon told how she carried a sense of 'dread and anxiety' for a year, during which nothing happened, until April 2024, when Mr Murrell was re-arrested and charged. But the probe into Ms Sturgeon continued and she admitted she was frightened about the investigation even though she knew she had 'done nothing wrong'. And she said: 'I retain both faith in and respect for our country's criminal justice system. However, none of that changes this fact: being the subject of a high-profile criminal investigation for almost two years, especially having committed no crime, was like a form of mental torture.' She wrote of an 'overwhelming' sense of relief and release upon being told she would face no further action on March 20, 2025. Ms Sturgeon also opens up about her miscarriage in 2010, saying she went to work in January while she was in 'constant agony', including a memorial event for the 40th anniversary of the Ibrox disaster. And she addressed rumours of her 'torrid lesbian affair' around 2020 with Catherine Colonna, who was French ambassador to the UK at the time, and false rumours perpetuated about her issuing a super-injunction to silence the press. She concludes: 'However, while the fact I was being lied about got under my skin, the nature of the insult itself was water off a duck's back. 'Long-term relationships with men have accounted for more than 30 years of my life, but I have never considered sexuality, my own included, to be binary. Moreover, sexual relationships should be private matters.' Frankly by Nicola Sturgeon will be published on Thursday.

Two arrested during demonstrations outside Canary Wharf hotel

Two people have been arrested at a protest at the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf, the Metropolitan Police said. More than 100 people were protesting with Stand Up to Racism at the hotel in London against recent anti-migrant demonstrations. They gathered as part of the 'Defend Refugees, Stop the Far Right' demonstrations happening across the UK on Friday. Around 100 counter-protesters also gathered at the venue, shouting 'stop the boats' as a number of them waved the Union flag. It came as officers also imposed conditions on the group protesting against the use of the hotel to house asylum seekers. The force posted on X: 'Officers have made two arrests in Canary Wharf. 'One person protesting against the use of the hotel by asylum seekers has been arrested after a bottle was thrown at officers. 'A member of the counter-protest group has been arrested for failing to remove a face covering. 'We have imposed conditions using the Public Order Act to prevent serious disorder at the protests in Canary Wharf. 'The group protesting against the use of the hotel by asylum seekers have been instructed to remain in front of the blue hoarding on the pavement opposite the Britannia Hotel.' Dozens of protesters were escorted by a large number of police officers, and they were carrying banners that read: 'Never again: remember history, fight fascism' and 'Refugees welcome'. There was a continued heavy police presence at the scene. Other counter-protesters wore St George's Cross flags wrapped over their shoulders or neck, with a handful wearing full-face coverings. A counter-protester also unfurled an Israeli flag. Police chiefs have warned they are ready to 'mobilise significant and specialist resources' if unrest breaks out at a string of anti-migrant protests planned at hotels housing asylum seekers. The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) is working with forces across the country and monitoring intelligence in preparation for a fresh wave of protests on Friday, with demonstrations planned at up to 14 hotels across the country.

Married female BA pilot & her colleague lover having fling demoted after rota fix so they could fly to Venice for tryst

TWO senior British Airways pilots involved in an affair have been demoted after juggling a roster so they could fly to Venice together. An investigation was launched into the married mum and her male pilot lover after a tip-off. 2 The duo were accused of colluding so they could enjoy a night-stop together in a luxury hotel in the romantic Italian city. After The Sun contacted BA, a letter was sent to all pilots informing them the more senior female worker 'stepped back from her management role'. It added: 'We thank her for her contribution over the last 15 months and wish her well for her return to the line.' A source told The Sun last night: 'Word had spread about her relationship with a senior pilot colleague. "It was foolhardy for management-level BA executives to behave in this way — carefully plotting a Venice trip together. It broke every rule. 'She was hauled in and asked why senior managers needed to be on a trip together. There was no legitimate reason for them to both stay overnight in Venice.' The woman was in a senior management role overseeing pilots and ensuring standards. The male pilot is understood to be 'hugely respected' at the airline, helping train pilots. Union Balpa refused to comment, despite being heavily involved in the investigation. Sources within British Airways confirmed the pair's prestigious management roles were removed.
