Cristiano Ronaldo reveals surprise next step once football career ends
The Portugal superstar has given no indication whatsoever of retiring yet, and continues to represent his country as well as playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
However, he has revealed he does not see himself coaching or managing, but instead having his own stable of clubs.
"It doesn't make a lot of sense to be director of a club. If I can be a club owner, why would I be a manager, sporting director or CEO?," told Portuguese television station Canal 11.
"That is a dream of mine and I am sure I'll be a club owner. And I'll tell you more. I hope to have not just one club, but several clubs."
Ronaldo would be following in the footsteps of his Brazilian namesake, who owns a majority stake in Spanish side Real Valladolid.
Other big names who have moved into ownership include former England captain David Beckham, who co-owns Inter Miami.
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe bought a majority stake in French club Caen last summer.
Ronaldo is the all-time leading goalscorer in men's international football and the only man to exceed 200 caps for any country in the sport.

Bruno Fernandes wanted in Saudi transfer AGAIN as Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr ‘line up shock move'
BRUNO FERNANDES has once again been linked with a sensational move to the Saudi Pro League - a month after turning it down. But this time a close reunion with his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is on the cards. 3 3 The Manchester United maestro was the subject of a stunning £200million proposal from Al-Hilal earlier this summer. Fernandes, 30, ultimately turned down the mega offer, with the midfielder keen to stay in the Premier League. But, according to Portuguese publication A Bola, Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are now considering tabling a bid for Fernandes. Ronaldo, 41, himself recently signed a record-breaking £492million extension, after flirting with an exit this summer. But despite reports, it seems unlikely that captain Fernandes would U-turn on his decision to stay at Old Trafford. Announcing his decision to stay in Manchester in June, Fernandes said in a statement: 'It would have been an easy move. "I had Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo there (at Al-Hilal), two people I have a great friendship with. 3 "But I want to stay at the highest level, play in big competitions, because I still feel capable. "There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me. Bruno Fernandes matches Cristiano Ronaldo record as he wins Man Utd award - but admits he DOESN'T want it "I spoke to Ruben Amorim and he asked me not to go. Manchester United didn't want to sell me. They don't need the money. "If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen." Not that he needed to, but Fernandes again showed his worth while scoring United's two first goals of pre-season against West Ham. Amorim needs him next season if the club are in with a chance of over-turning their dismal year last season, when they finished 15th in the Prem and lost the Europa League final to Spurs. United have so far strengthened this summer with Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha joining for £133million combined. United are reportedly working on a deal to battle Newcastle for RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko. Toon tabled their first Sesko bid on Saturday.

Luther's controversial win at Saratoga which stunned trainer Charlie Fellowes explained
The official stewards' decision said the winner Zulu Kingdom shifted left and did not leave enough room, which led to Tiz Dashing being taken back and into Luther's path Trainer Charlie Fellowes was left stunned by a controversial decision to promote his horse Luther to first in a graded race at Saratoga. The Frankel colt had crossed the line a length-and-a-half behind Zulu Kingdom in the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes on Friday night. However rider Joel Rosario objected to the result as Luther had been badly hampered at the first bend, an incident the stewards felt was caused by the original winner. After deliberations, Zulu Kingdom was demoted to fourth as the British runner banked £176,000 for connections on his second start in the US. Fellowes said he watched the race at home in the UK and was surprised as Luther inherited victory in the mile contest on firm ground. "I don't know what just happened, but I'm shocked," he said. "I could see that it was a really messy race and my fella got carved up a little early on, then rushed up into position. "He really ran an unbelievable race to finish second, considering all of that." Speaking to the Racing Post, Fellowes, who lost the French 1,000 Guineas in the stewards room earlier in the season, sympathised with connections of Zulu Kingdom. On that occasion his horse She's Perfect was deemed to have interfered with Zarigana and he added: "I lost the biggest race of my career so I know first-hand it's not the way you want to win." Michael Dubb, one of the owners of Zulu Kingdom, said they would not appeal the findings. The official stewards' decision read: "In the seventh race at Saratoga there was a jockeys objection involving the #7 Zulu Kingdom, placed first, ridden by Flavien Prat, the #2 Luther, placed second, ridden by Joel Rosario and #3 Tiz Dashing, placed fourth, ridden by Javier Castellano. "The incident occurred approaching the first bend. After viewing replays of the incident and questioning riders involved, the stewards were of the view that Zulu Kingdom shifted left leaving insufficient room on its inside, resulting in Tiz Dashing having to take back for a number of strides and carried left into the path of Luther, who made contact with the running rail for numerous strides and caused the rider to check sharply, losing significant momentum and resulted in Luther losing its racing position into the first turn. "The stewards are satisfied that the incident cost #2 Luther and #3 Tiz Dashing the opportunity at a better placing and as a result #7 Zulu Kingdom was disqualified from 1st and placed 4th. The revised order of finish is 2-5-3-7."

Man Utd fans banned from getting three names printed on new shirt
Manchester United fans were stunned to learn that they cannot get the names of three former players printed on the club's new kit. Excitement for the new Premier League season is growing with less than two weeks to go before the opening game between champions Liverpool and Bournemouth. Clubs are finishing off their pre-season preparations, with United taking on Everton and Fiorentina before kicking-off the new campaign against Arsenal on August 17. Supporters are also gearing up the season by getting their hands on the new Red Devils home and away shirts, but those who recently ventured to the Old Trafford megastore were in for a surprise. As shared on social media by a fan, a sign displaying United's shirt printing policy states: 'Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to print Cantona, Beckham, and Ronaldo,' on the back of shirts. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo are of course three of the greatest players in United's history and three icons of football. More Trending All wore the iconic No.7 shirt and won a total of 21 major trophies during their time in Manchester. Yet, United have confirmed that as the trio own their image rights, their names cannot be printed on replica kits at the club's own shop. Additionally, it is said this policy is not new and has actually been in place for a number of years. United are not the only club who have this issue, as it was reported last year that Real Madrid had banned fans from getting names of several Los Blancos legends on new kits, including Beckham and Ronaldo. Fans still have plenty of other names they can choose from, including new signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon who will wear numbers 10, 19 and 30 this season. It is an unusual sight to see Cunha donning the famous United No.10 shirt which had been worn by Marcus Rashford since 2018. 'It's something that you always dream about,' the forward said upon signing and taking over the number earlier this summer. 'I can mention many players that use this shirt. It's so easy for me. 'Of course, I think the one that I always think about when I see this number in this shirt for me was Wayne Rooney. He was someone that I grew up to watch him play and I have [watched] many games now. 'Then I swapped shirts with Marcus [after a game] also, I have his shirt in my home. But, of course, we know many players used this shirt – [Ruud] van Nistelrooy, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. 'It's the dream not only to use the shirt, but with all the history they have around the number, it's something beautiful that I have the privilege to do it.'
